Miss Shirley's Cafe, Roland Park

Just had Sunday brunch at Miss Shirley’s and loved every bit of it. A 30-minute wait ended up being closer to only 15. Our server Jaden was very attentive and explained the menu well. We ended up going with the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and Fried Chicken, Biscuit, & Gravy Omelet. Both were very good. The menu stated that Food Network rated Miss Shirley’s pancakes as the best in the country. I must say, they are amongst the best I’ve ever had.

My husband has been trying to take me here for 12 years and we just haven't had time. I'm so glad we made it. The food was good... highly recommend the deviled eggs...but the service was out of this world. The servers were attentive and polite. They were professional but engaging. We watched, and they just worked so respectfully with one another. It was impressive and also rare. Well done.

Everything I ordered from here was absolutely delicious. The grits are absolutely love them. They had pieces of tomato and bacon on top of them, I only wish the scoop was a little bigger. I got a pork sausage patty and the fried green tomatoes, which would have been perfect for a vegetarian option. The tomatoes were nice and firm which seem to be a cornmeal batter that it was fried in. The sauce that went on. Top of them was absolutely divine. I had no complaints about this food. Everything was good.

If you like French toast then you should try the one I had here OMG. I ordered the stuffed cream cheese coconut encrusted extremely thick french toast. Didn't even need syrup it was sweet enough. You won't need to get anything else besides something to drink because I couldn't finish the plate - I only ate half because it was either extremely filling or very rich 🤷🏾‍♂. My friend got a bloody Mary and chicken pot pie that looked great but I didn't try either.

Liked the ambiance and location. Food is excellent and unique. You will not go wrong with their menu. The menu is also kid friendly and plenty of options for kids. Loved the food.

We are from South Central PA and wanted to go to a different restaurant in Towson only to find out it was closed for a private party. Came across this in yet a different restaurant review so we decided to give it a try.

We were told a 20 min wait and were seated within 10. The service was on point and the food was fantastic. We started with the hummingbird donuts and I had the chicken and waffles with green onion. That chicken had the perfect fry and the waffles were light and addictive. Hubby had the pulled pork and said it was moist and tasty. We found our new weekend dining.

Several years ago someone suggested I try Miss Shirley's Inner Harbor. Loved it but this visit to Baltimore I decided to try this location. The three others with me and myself loved it. Great food, friendly staff that was handling a very busy Sunday morning with aplomb. I ALWAYS try to eat at Miss Shirley's every time I'm in the area.

My friend got the salmon and grits, and I got the cinnamon roll pancakes. As always, this restaurant doesn't disappoint. I used to go here for special occasions and I came in to town and had to return. Worth the wait! They're always amazing and pretty much will be forever. Highly recommend. Get there at a weird hour though, because otherwise you'll be in for quite a wait!

Always amazing food and excellent service. Our waitress was extremely understanding and helpful about my daughter’s cinnamon allergy, which is something new we are dealing with. The staff asking actually reminded us! I always recommended your restaurant to family and friends!

First time at this restaurant, and our experience was really good. It looks small from the outside, but it's actually sizeable. Great food and service, will definitely return.

Long wait was worth it. Tasha took care of us, lots of food, very tasty, grits and shrimp please. It is a mandatory breakfast. I recommend it!

The wait staff here is extremely friendly, and there was virtually no wait for a Saturday morning. I had the seasonal Gingerbread French Toast, and it was to die for.

Chicagoan here, was taken to Ms. Shirley's in 2019 when visiting family for the first time. So impressed it was my first stop when I came back recently. Everything was amazing. Especially the grits. Even my picky eater baby had a good time.

My favorite place for creative soul food brunch in Baltimore. It's always busy so accept that you may have to wait for a table especially on Sat or Sun. But just wait, because it's worth it, and the staff communicates well and is very efficient. The food remains the star of the show. Top to bottom a lovely place to eat.

Me and my wife ate here for the first time on Wednesday for my birthday. Our waiter was exceptional and gave out great feedback on the food we asked him about. We started with the hot honey fried chicken deviled eggs and monkey bread, both were delicious. My only complaint about the monkey bread is some of the bread was tough, overall I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. We also had the strawberry orange juice which was delicious as well. For our meal we both went with peach cobbler french toast, it was very delicious and fulfilling. As with the monkey bread my only complaint is some parts of the French toast was tough. We both enjoyed our experience and will return again in the future.

This is a must visit breakfast brunch location if you are in the Baltimore area. I live in the area and visit way too often. All the food is good I have never been disappointed. My personal favorites are the Cuban sandwich, Cinnamon Danish pancakes, and Chicken and Waffles. If you are adventurous you can try one of their monthly specials. This is also a great location to go with kids. If you have very little ones that are just starting food I recommend just getting them a side of grits our boys loved them it's just the right size and price. For bigger ones they have a kids box but unless you are really excited about the offerings I would just get a short stack of their preferred pancakes, ours always order the chocolate white chocolate pancakes. The short stack is two instead of four pancakes and is a hidden menu option. If you go on Saturday or Sunday mid morning be prepared to wait. This can range from 10 minutes to an hour. They have a text message waiting system that works well. If you go at other times I would expect to be seated immediately but you can always call ahead of time and check the wait but they don't take reservations. If it is more convenient they also have locations downtown and in Annapolis. Our family doesn't have food allergies but my understanding is Miss Shirley's is a good place to go if that is a concern.

My wife and I started with the hot honey chicken deviled eggs. Very good. Sauce has a bit of a kick to it! I went with the fried chicken biscuits and gravy omelet. It was delicious. Highly recommend. My wife went with the monthly French toast special. Very delicious too.

It's higher end, higher quality breakfast food, so you do pay slightly higher for it. But it's worth it.
