L.P. Steamers

LP Steamers is a Baltimore staple, and the best place to Maryland style crabs. If you are hungry, I recommend ordering the boat load of food that is a sampler of everything. You can get it fried or grilled. I recommend grilled as fried can get too heavy/overwhelming. The boat load of food also comes with a beer pitcher, so definitely the way to go.

They also have the best crab cakes that I have tried in my life.

The atmosphere is casual and great place to meet with friends on a weekend afternoon.

My first time here and my server was friendly and very attentive, didn’t miss anything. The food was exactly how I thought it would be, got the ginormous blue crab and the old bay seasoning was perfect to use on the crab meat. The crab cake was very filling, loved that it’s mostly meat and not breading. The fries are great, this is a must try place to go if you’re visiting the area.

Love the crabs here! The crabs were juicy and spicy with the old bay seasoning. We also got the fried platter and I got the fried soft shell crab but I don’t think I would get either again. The fried platter was so tiny for $28 and only the fried shrimps were good or memorable. The rest I couldn’t tell what was fried at all. The soft shell crab was nice in that you could eat everything but I would rather get the steamed jumbo crab instead at the same price which would mean more crab meat!!! So next time, I would get like 8 jumbo crabs 🦀

We first came here in 2016 and loved it so much we had to come back when we came to Baltimore again. Casual, comfortable atmosphere with great food. Everything we got was fresh and delicious. Service was quick and very friendly. So glad we came back!

Great flavor on everything. Started with the local oysters, they were clean bright flavor, really cold and delicious. We got the large steam crabs and both types of crab cakes. The old bay on the steamed crabs was amazing, great texture, perfect size. If I came again I'd get the steamed crab cakes, they had more flavor although both were really good. 100% recommend.

You cant beat the price!! For three drinks, a half dozen extra large crabs, 1lb of crab legs, corn, and hush puppies all came out to less than $120. What a steal, especially if you're familiar with the price of crab nowadays. Hands down one of the best tasting crab’s I’ve ever had. Probably should have ordered large as I was full after eating three because they were so full of crab meat. The staff is extremely kind and very attentive to their patrons. I had a wonderful experience and already planning my next trip back.

We love Blue Crabs and saw this place on Instagram. We drove alllllll the way from NC and I PROMISE it was worth the drive!The cream crab soup was delicious. My favorite part of the meal was the HUSHPUPPIES and the cinnamon butter! We ordered a dozen and could only eat 8 between the both of us. Definitely worth the road trip!

L.P. Steamers has lots of great seafood options for everyone to enjoy! My group got a little bit of everything and we loved it all. The restaurant is a little small so expect to wait if you go during busy times.

This place is awesome. Our server was a younger male and he was super cool. Showed us how to crack open the crab, which was super helpful. The two other girls who were there were also amazing and very helpful. Shout out to Martha Stewart, felt super thankful to know we ate at the same place. 10/10 experience. I really enjoyed that our server sounded Jonah Hill.

I can’t believe I haven’t gone to this place more often. The best bang for your buck on the east coast for sure. They have some of the best onion rings I’ve had and they have my favorite hush puppies. The insides aren’t too dry or too mushy they are perfect and absolutely delicious with the brown sugar butter they provide. The crab dip was amazing too. And everything all together didn’t give me a heart attack when the bill came.

Even from a locals pov, if you’re gonna get crabs, get them from LP Steamers. They really do a disservice w their understated attitude. This is a Baltimore staple that ought to be brought to attention to the masses. Maybe that’s why it’s so unaffected and genuine, only in Baltimore. Right smack center in Locust Point you’ll find this row home turned diner that serves the best of them all. I wish we had ordered everything off the menu, alas we got what we can handle portion wise. We got the crabs, onion rings, fried shrimp, hush puppies, all better than none other. Old bay seasoning making its way delicately in every item we ordered. Locals love this place and so did we. Full marks!

This is my FAVORITE BLUE CRAB SPOT‼‼‼ Every time we drive up from Atlanta we make it our business to stop here… We usually get the large blue crabs…the steamed shrimp with the onions… “Everything is so FRESH AND OUR FOOD ALWAYS COME OUT HOTTTTTT…. we’ve also tried the crab cake and lobster is good also.. You can’t go wrong here I promise.. And we just love Stephani.. she has the best customer service and she always remembers the little things that we like‼‼‼

Food is great! We went on a Wednesday for 1/2 price steamed shrimp and it was excellent. Hope was a great and attentive server and super friendly! Definitely will be back soon.

We got “the boht load” plus more oysters (local and premium). It was delicious and the perfect amount for two people. Their cream of crab soup was amazing!! If you’re a fan of clam chowder and crab, you will love it! Our kids got the chicken tenders which kept them busy. All the food was delicious! The waitress was so friendly!!! It is definitely a must stop if you’re in the area!! We ate outside with perfect weather.

As a group of 8, arriving late in the evening of January 13, we knew we were putting a strain on the staff. First, we were seated much more quickly than any of us expected. Next, we received enthusiastic service from what seemed like every employee in the restaurant; they truly work well as a team. Finally, we enjoyed fantastic food, quickly and perfectly prepared and served. Thank you to everyone that helped to brighten our day!!

Must go to if you are looking for great crabs for a great price and served with the best service in Baltimore. It was at least 15 people in my group and the servers did a marvelous job tending to all of our request. The CRABS 🦀 were so good as well as the fries, mussels and wings. They are worth the 2 hrs drive once a month.

Based on the reviews, I had high expectations; even still, I was absolutely blown away! The food was extremely fresh and delicious. We ordered a mountain of food, and every single item blew me away. To start, the hush puppies were the best I have ever eaten; they were steaming hot, crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. It’s also a great amount, around 15 pieces per order. It was so good we had to get a second order. The calamari was light and crispy as well. Of course, the star of the show was the steamed crab. They were cooked to perfection, the meat was extremely juicy, and the crabs were great quality. We also got fish and chips, which were exceptional. The fried shrimp also did not disappoint. We got the Francis Scott Trio, which was a combination of three steamed items. We got the lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops. The lobster tail was so juicy, the shrimp was great, and the scallops might be the best I’ve ever had. They were so savory and delicious. For all of the food we got, the value and price was amazing. The staff was very kind, and the environment was great. If you’re in Baltimore, do not skip out in L.P. Steamer. It is absolutely worth it, and could be one of the best meals of your life!

Small casual restaurant with fresh local seafood. Not too busy, and everyone there seemed to be a local. Get something to do with crab! It's definitely a hidden gem. Reservations are available upstairs. You can get whole crabs to crack! The waitstaff were very friendly and patient with our dietary restrictions (allergies and T1D) and recommended the best dishes. Our waitress even showed us how to properly crack a crab! (We're newbies).
The scallops were delicious and the wings as well. Highlights were definitely the creamy crab soup, crab dip and pretzel bread, and crab cakes. The crab cakes had so much crab and so little filler, very high quality, and taste. They also have dessert from a local bakery!

Tip: Ask for gloves and bibs if getting whole crabs; they're covered in seasoning, and cracking them makes a mess.

We ordered half pound shrimps, 2 fried soft crab and 6 blue crabs with old bay seasoning! I love the shrimps so much, very fresh and tender! You just try it! And soft crab is my favorite as well with the tartar source, juicy and fresh! The crabs is amazing, full fill with meats but a little bit salty to me!

The people are very nice, we site upstairs, but also they have bathroom which very friendly to customers to wash hands!

Food was very tasty. Served very quickly. Highly recommend to anyone in the Baltimore area. The crab cake is delicious.

Only complain is that our steamed sampler only had one single oyster.
