So, once a month my eldest grandson along with my youngest daughter go out to enjoy one another company while dining. Today we chose this place. We viewed the star rating and how many people rated the business. Well, we weren’t disappointed. The food is delicious. The service by Brenna was excellent.

This is a place to return to.

Rip and Dip

Blackened Shrimp and grits

Mini chicken sandwiches

Rose wine

Root beer soda

The music is good

Brownie sundae

Donut Bread Pudding

Vibe is awesome, service is stellar, and food is delicious! We’ve been many times and it’s always great! You can build your own beer flight, which is always fun! The beyond burger is outstanding and vegan if you remove the aioli. Very fun spot to hang out!

Love the name and vibe of this place. Who wouldn’t love a speakeasy style restaurant (though we opted for an early dinner on the Cured side of the restaurant)?!?!? We also opted for a tapas style dinner of appetizers: bean and ham soup, duck fat fries, herbed falafel, and grilled chicken skewers with peach BBQ sauce and cucumber/radish salad. The bean and ham soup surprised us with a red base but was excellent. The duck fat fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. Incidentally they were tasty with the Peach BBQ sauce. The chicken skewers were perfectly done. I was disappointed by the falafel. It came sandwich style in a pita pocket with 2 falafel balls in each half. The tzatziki was very unusual- finely shredded, long strips of cucumber mixed with what I assume was yogurt. It was very thick but also the yogurt had been watery and left small puddles on my plate. By the time it was delivered both the bottom sides of pita and falafel were soggy. I ended up pulling the falafel out to just eat them. They were soft and smoothly blended which is not my preferred consistency for falafel. They were also somewhat bland.

For drinks I had the Cardi Peach which was very good! My husband, a whiskey guy, had a sampling of whiskeys. If you like whiskey they have a HUGE menu- almost 500 between the two sides. From all over the world.

For dessert we had warm stone fruit clafouti and donut bread pudding. I would have preferred the clafouti with more fruit. The donut bread pudding was very good! It tasted just like a warm Krispy Kreme donut.

Service was phenomenal. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. I prefer to chat with bartenders about the alcohols and food I am tasting, history of the establishment, etc and they were very accommodating 😊

We will be coming back soon to try the 18th and 21st side of the restaurant. This was a great find and if you are a whiskey person, they have whiskey club that sounds like a ton of fun.

18th & 21st Review

One of our favorite date night locations! The food menu changes often, and we have never had a meal we did not like. The drink selections are top notch and the live jazz music are always top notch! Highly recommend dining here!

Cured Review

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We made reservations towards the end of happy hour so we could sample items from multiple menus.

From the happy hour menu we tried the burger sliders (10/10), nashville hot chicken (7/10) and rib empanadas (4/10). We also tried one of the whiskey flights. The sliders were outstanding, the nashville chicken was good. We had mixed feelings for the rib empanadas. We felt the crust was to thick and the ribs were not seasoned enough for our liking. But, the dipping sauce was good. The whiskey flight was a great way to sample a few different brands.

From the dinner menu we ordered the smoked buffalo wings (8/10) and the salisbury steak (6/10). The smoked wings were good. I enjoyed the mix of smoky buffalo flavoring. The salisbury steak was ok, was missing some seasoning in our opinion, but was not a bad meal.

They also offer a whiskey explorers club. As you sample different whiskeys the servers mark off your club card. Rewards are unlocked when you hit certain milestones.

Overall we enjoyed our experience and will return to try some other whiskies and menu items.

Had dinner for an early birthday celebration. The service was good, the food was good, the prices were good. The brussel sprouts were yummy. The jerk chicken thighs were good. At the end of the dinner, the staff brought out a complimentary dessert!

Had an awesome meal at the bar for our first time visit . Paul and Adam were great for the cocktail suggestions as well as food. We enjoyed a burger and a filet as well as a few drinks. Loved the jazz as well!

This review is for 18th & 21st. Wow. Just WOW. What a spectacular experience!

The food was absolutely DIVINE- truly impressive. Every month they feature specific ingredients (as if we needed a reason to return), so the menu usually has something special to try.

This month it was corn and tomatoes. The Fried Green Tomatoes on a bed of corn salsa was the best I've ever had. The corn panna cotta was a delicious dessert. The Tomato Cake wasn't my jam, but one of my dining partners adored it.

The brussels sprouts are NOT to be missed. My poached lobster on butternut squash ravioli was BEYOND a treat. I had some of my friend's ribeye and macaroni and cheese- don't get me started!!

The ambiance is FABULOUS. I love the concept of the hidden, speakeasy with wonderful live jazz music. The décor is sumptuous.

Our service was wonderful- friendly, knowledgeable, and capable. We never had to ask for refills.

There's a free parking garage right next to the restaurant, so parking is convenient.

It's definitely expensive, but I believe it's worth every penny.

We'll be returning, for sure!

A good friend of mine invited a few of us from work and close friends for her birthday. We had a blast good company good food. The only problem was that my grill chicken was a bit dry in my salad. Overall, everything was good. We were explained by our server the meals and the entire menu. Therefore, it was easier to make our choices. There are pricey as far as I am concerned. But yes, I would recommend this restaurant, their food is pretty good. I would be returning.

Great atmosphere, love the live music. Really sets the romantic mood. The service is really great.
The food are smaller portions, so don't expect large amounts of food. The flavor is really good.
Free parking in the garage.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Our table ordered a shrimp appetizer, mushroom soup, fried green tomato appetizer, spring bucatini, and rockfish entree special. Each dish is full of its own unique and delicate flavor, with fresh, high quality ingredients. Service and atmosphere were both wonderful. There was a live jazz concert that was a cherry on top. I will 100% return!

The shrimp & grit is the best… steak is too tenacious! Wish the bagels were toasted, Coffee was ok, but drinks are good! The servers and the vibe there were awesome!

I had to wait for an hour for a table for two but it was all worth it. Food taste great, staff are great too. So there’s two restaurant in one, make sure you ask at the reception. There’s the regular one in front and fine dining in the back. I was at the regular one and oh my the food was delicious. They also have arguably the largest selection of rye and bourbon in the area; 100 on the menu and the host said they have about 400 or so.

I cannot say enough regarding Cured 18th & 21st! We had my husband’s retirement party here. From planning to execution, the service was amazing for a private party of 40-45 people. The food was great. The staff was attentive to every detail. Every guest loved the food and the bar service was also impressed. The head server has a gift for service. 10 out of 10 all the way around.

This is truly a 5 Star restaurant. I had an amazing time from beginning to end. I love the history told of the Harlem Renaissance. I love the clothes and the decor. The live band was incredible. The oysters and crispy brussels sprouts are a great choice to start of with appetizers. The drinks were strong and bold. The entrees are so delicious. The crème brûlée was a great dessert choice to end the tonight. Just incredible! An exquisite dining experience.

Every time i have a family member or friend come into town, I bring them here. The atmosphere is great, the good is good and the service is good also. I love the wide variety of whiskey they have, and the bartenders make really good drinks. The calamari and smoked wings are probably my favorite appetizers. My only complaint is that the steak could use a little more seasoning, but it was cooked perfectly.

Was fortunate enough to have a meal at Cured on the evening of January 3rd. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating to dietary restrictions and a picky six year old.

I started with the mushroom soup which was pleasantly earthy and slightly sweet. In fact, I'm still thinking about that soup. I also tried the catfish fingers which were light and crispy and paired with a wonderful mustard dipping sauce. Oh and the brussel sprouts. Nicely charred and tossed in a slightly sweet sauce.

My main course was the gnocchi in a coconut tikka masala. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly and the sauce was a pleasant surprise. Snow peas balanced out the dish keeping it from feeling heavy or monotonous as gnocchi can often be.

I stuck with wine for the evening (and the wine list is nicely curated) but the cocktails that others ordered all looked great and were enjoyed.

Looking forward to coming back next time I come through town.

They accomodated our large group easily with an appetizer spread that was wide ranging and delicious. Service was swift and polite. Just wish they had an extra room for large groups as we were seated at a long curved table at the bar which made mingling harder. Overall, a very nice experience.

This review is for 18th & 21st, which is by reservation only. It gives off an upscale "Love Jones" type vibe if you understand the reference. Perfect date night spot with how it's set up and the live music. The staff were fantastic and their food and drink recommendations were on point. Definitely a spot to check out.

We made reservations for a Tuesday at 18th and 21st for our anniversary dinner. Had to push the reservation time back at the last minute and they were more than accommodating. When we arrived, everyone we interacted with was kind and seemed genuinely happy to have us there. We were given a "happy anniversary" card signed by the staff which is such a cute damn touch.

There was a live musical trio performing, absolutely magical atmosphere. Minutes after sitting down, a manager (owner?) jumped on a mic with the band, wished us happy anniversary then dedicated a love song to us. Just so so fun.

All the drinks and food we ordered were excellent. The strawberry thyme sour and smoked old fashioned in particular were delicious. We had raw oysters, the tuna tartare, lobster entree and hake special, followed by donut bread pudding (would come back just for this and the sour) and chocolate cake.

The entire evening was an absolute celebration. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special night out. Cannot wait to return.
