Dr. Ridgeway is a really good psychiatrist. He’s very laid back, which makes him easy to open up to. He also takes the time to listen to me and talk with me, which I greatly appreciate.

I started seeing Dr. Ridgeway a few years ago and he has been my life saver! He always listened to me, helped me find a regime that works. I moved to Houston 10 months ago and have yet to find anyone like him.

Most always a quick in and out for labs and testing.

It fits what I need. Medicine Management. But if you're looking for someone to sit and listen to you on a weekly basis then no it's not for your needs. To get a Therapist you may be able to get, but a follow up could take 6 weeks. So be aware of that.

This may seem like jumping on a bandwagon, but after seeing similar complaints I felt like adding my two cents.

Overall, service is decent. Particularly because I don't use the service for therapy but rather for medication management so things like wait times for consultations don't bother me. Trust me when I say I've had much worse treatment elsewhere.

Long story short, I'm under the impression that practitioners could be trained a bit better in bedside manner and not rely so heavily on the diagnostic side of things. Just a little human sensitivity is all.

My issue lies with the first consult I had when I was attempting to get back on medication for the issue I had already been diagnosed for. I walked out with a brand new diagnosis of a personality disorder.

Now, if I really did fit the DSM qualifications for said disorder, I won't complain, but when discussing my history, my practitioner seemed to really just be ticking off diagnostic boxes instead of listening to what I was saying. Like when I came in, she'd immediately flagged me with a diagnosis before speaking to me and was just checking to make sure she was right. Not to mention the fact that she appeared to ignore my mentions of things I was already diagnosed for that happen to have comorbid symptoms for the boxes she was checking.

Again, if I really fit the bill, that's okay, but listening to a patient is ideal. We know our brains better than you do. We live in them.

My mom has Lewy Body Dementia and went into the Pascagoula inpatient behavioral health center after not being able to lift her head up at all.

She had two weeks of rehab at the hospital. They took her walker away, labeled her a fall risk, and insisted on pushing her around in a chair. Instead of helping her to the bathroom, they put diapers on her. They locked her up in a zipper tent at night after giving her sleeping shots and putting diapers on her, so they wouldn’t have to take her to the bathroom. They sat her in front of a TV most of the day. They gave her highly processed food and over-medicated her. Everytime I called, they were trying a new drug on her. One time I called she sounded drunk out of her mind, and they tried to tell me it was because of lack of sleep—no doubt that was some new happy drug. They didn’t let her go outside for fresh air once during a two week stay. She came home hallucinating from the drugs, walking around at night, and unable to use the toilet herself.

I picked her up from that inhumane place two weeks ago, and she has been clean eating and juicing here. She can now use the bathroom herself, take her own showers, she stays in bed all night, and she no longer hallucinates. She exercises daily.

I have drastically reduced her medication and drastically increased supplementation. She spends at least 45 minutes grounding outside each day—bare-feet on the ground, getting her Vitamin D, & she has very limited TV access with no news.

Do not send your loved ones to the behavioral health care center. It is inhumane! The picture on the left is right before she went into the hospital and the picture on the right was taken this morning.

How do you all see Dr. Ridgeway? I came to this facility a few years ago. Only been seen probably 4 times. Five minutes each time. I see someone named Baker. From my understanding he's not even a pych doc...I'm from Pennsylvania and I had a whole team..on call..when I needed them. This place. You get scheduled a months apart. I requested a therapist..still have not seen or heard about it. When talking to Baker..he looks at the computer the whole time n doesn't listen. I have bipolar 1 and borderline personality along with other things. So me trying to manage this without help..is be coming hell. I have bad anxiety n panic attacks....I feel Mississippi is a$$ backwards on so many things. And the mental health system doesn't do squat. ....

Don't waste your time. After my initial appt I asked about making an appt for the next week and was laughed at. I'm booked 2 months out the therapist said. What good does it do to only be seen every 2 months? Find someone who cares about patients and not numbers.

I went to talk to Dr. Lewis and I couldn't get a word in edgewise.. She told me what I needed to do instead of listening to my problem, I was so discussed that I ended the session early. Dr. Lewis is not professional

I was given antidepressants and told to come back in 3 months. He only gave me a 30 day supply - no refills. So my antidepressants ran out. What am I supposed to do?
