Great, unique options but you must know what you’re looking for before going in. Use their website to pick out and then call before going there. Best way to save the heartache of ghost inventory that you had your eyes on.

I ordered a couple of bottles through online website on Nov 16 and was pleasantly surprised when I got the email that it was shipping Nov 17. Received yesterday Nov 18 in NC. Couldn't be more pleased, especially after making this same attempt to buy this wine from another NY wine store and getting the run around for a month without ever being charged or order confirmed. Thanks & keep up the great business practices!!

Favorite place ever for wine selection! Chris and the girls are amazing, as is everyone else there! From wine tastings to champagne tasting to the amazing atmosphere I could simply not ask for a better place to go! We even discussed if we were to move out if the Raleigh area we would still drive here for our wine regardless how long of a drive it would be! Staff is very knowledgeable and they remember faces and our individual tastes in wines! Many times I have went in for a bottle for someone else and was given the perfect one for the people I inquired about! Chris also is amazing with my almost 2 year old son! Where else can a toddler waddle around aimlessly?! He also has a secret stock of goodies for children who come in (candy balloons coloring ect) and loves to show off the humongous turtles behind the store!

I love Westgate Wine. I enjoy the emails I receive which introduce me to wines from all over the world which I would never know about. I can then research the wines to determine if I am interested and if the wine is a decent value. This process has allowed me to greatly expand my wine palate without overstretching my pocketbook. The staff is always helpful and friendly and the tastings are fun and helpful. A lot of great bargains too!

Great selection and prices for great wines/wineries hard to find elsewhere. Owner and staff very knowledgeable and friendly. A gem of a find in an indistinct shopping center, and with a window appearance that would lead one to believe it's shipping post not open to the public. Glad a neighbor told me to go in and try them. I became a member and an advocate during my first visit.

Have bought a lot of wine form these folks for many years. Knowledgeable and very service minded. Always coming up with new ideas but they also remember what I like. Great place to get your wine both for easy drinking and to lay down.

We take special trips to Raleigh JUST to go to this wine store. We live in Charlotte and attend all of their wine tastings and receive their emails. There is not a comparison to this wine store, educator, distributor and team! While their descriptions for their wines could win a marketing award they are spot on accurate and I have yet to taste a bottle of wine that I would not agree with their description. They also have the best prices ANYWHERE! They promote competitor's prices and they are accurate. I have double checked most of the prices and found theirs to be by far the best.
The team is excellent!!! The kind of place you can call or visit and tell them what you like and what you want to spend and they can suggest several great options. We have learned more about wine attending their tastings and find Chrish (the owner) to not only be extremely knowledgeable but approachable. He has suggested other wines based on our likes and we have thus been exposed to so many wonderful wines. We are hooked. We literally built a wine closet to support our now collection and 98% of it came from Westgate. I cannot praise this place enough.
The team is awesome- Sallee, Kayla, Catherine all very nice and extremely knowledgable. You cannot go wrong with this place and I can guarantee if you try it- you will be hooked. Cheers!

Good variety of varieties (grape varieties that is) without trying to cover everything for everyone. Somewhat a balance of domestic California and Oregon wines vs. French and Italian and South American wines, etc. I like to do the tastings when I am in the area. I will often end up buying a wine I had never heard of before tasting it in the shop.

Westgate has extraordinary wines at great prices, and they deliver to Charlotte, which is a bonus! We love the staff and think they get great wine...and their reviews are reliable. Love the tastings, too!

I love buying wine from Westgate Wine! I have been into the store a few times, but my favorite option is to buy wine from their website. They make it so easy to find wine (e.g. search by grape, search by region, sort by price, etc.), pay for it and pick it up in the store.

Westgate Wine also has amazing prices on many wines. They have a knack for finding really good wines and then selling them at a steep discount compared to regular retail prices.

In addition to the buying experience, I have also been impressed with the wines I bought at Westgate Wine. I have had excellent blends (e.g. Cabernet, Merlot and Shiraz) and tried grapes (e.g. Monastrell - hint: It's the Spanish name for Mourvèdre and it's delicious) I wasn't familiar with.

I shopped at The Wine Merchant for many years before they closed their Ridge Rd location. For me, Westgate Wine has been the best alternative I can find because they offer interesting and excellent wines at great prices.

They have both free and pay wine tastings. The wine is usually a good quality and the folks are knowledgeable and friendly. Get on their email list and you will get good offers on some great wines and notification of tastings.

This place is my absolute fav, for all types of wines. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. I shop for and have wine delivered. without worry.

One of the best wine stores in the country. I highly recommend to everyone. Great and knowledgeable staff along with some of the best pricing in the U.S.

This is by far my favorite wine store. Incredible wines with non pretentious employees. And they offer free tastings every Friday and Saturday!

Westgate is awesome. Kid friendly wine tastings Friday afternoons. Nice discounts, unique selection, friendly knowledgeable staff. Can't recomend it enough.

Probably the best wine retail shop in NC. Staff is very freindly and accommodating. Best selection of wines and prices are the best I have seen anywhere. A must see!!!!
