BEST gifts in Charleston!!! Handcrafted, local gifts and there is something for everyone! I purchased Butter, BBQ Sauce, Disposable-Wooden Service Sets for my lunches on the go and a cute Picture Frame-it didn't cost me an arm and a leg either! VERY AFFORDABLE!!! The shop owner even offered me a sample of the Sauce I bought...I can't say that I've ever had that happen before! Wonderful products and friendly shop owners!!! I'm bringing all of my out of town guests here to shop local fair! And when visiting out of town, I'm only buying from this store to take a little of SC with me! I love The Compass Market!!!

If you are looking for local, small business, and independent artisan products from the south - this is the spot. We visited looking for some local goodies to take back home and we were not disappointed! We left with local grits, honey, cheese straws, salt, dog treats, and would have taken even more if we had the room. You can also shop for upcycled art and functional items. The shopkeepers are delightful sunbeams - you will definitely get a dose of southern hospitality and charm here! This is my new favorite shop in Charleston and I can't wait to come back!

I went here with my wife to check it out since we pass it all the time. Oh boy, I had been missing a great little boutique shop for awhile! We got great little food things such as bbq sauce, pimento cheese, some chips, toasted coconut butter, popcorn. The two women that work there are amazingly friendly and will help you with anything you are looking for! We had such an amazing experience and wish we had gone here sooner!

Amazing customer service- I have coordinated with The Compass Market twice now to deliver a sympathy fruit basket and to mail a box of treats to family with a new baby. A much better value and product than using a generic retailer. I cannot reccomend this locally-owned business enough!

Great little place! I stopped in while visiting relatives in the area. I wish we had a store like this where I lived! Interesting local goods, all kinds of yummy treats, very knowledgeable (and friendly) staff, and totally worth a stop. If you’re in the area check it out!

I stopped in here never having heard of it, but it was listed as selling the particular kind of elderberry syrup I was looking for. I was greeted by Cristina and she was so helpful and nice. Just a cute place with local products that they believe in. I'll definitely be back!

We live on the other side of the US from Compass Market and have fallen in love with South Carolina foods and products through this wonderful business. Now, it will be even easier to get our fix for grits! So happy to see the website is up and running.

This is a great place for ALL kinds of unique, fun gift items with a “southern flair”. Its a bit off the beaten path on Ashley Phosphate Rd but well worth the trip.
