We've been very impressed with the help and information we have received along the way. For a large university, it hasn't felt that way in the least.

The CM said to move out on a Friday. I asked RESLIFE to move out the next day, a Sat. They said ok "go to blah blah and fill out an extension form." Done. No mention a $250 late fee to move out one day later. For both dorm mates. $500? Late fee? No one mentioned? I had to to take off 2 jobs, creating a huge hole for my employers to move on a Fri. I'm a single Mom. So no help on a Friday that I had on Sat. They won't waive the fee. No response on the email asking to resend the extension form so Bursar won't be charged. Great way to run that Dept. guys! What are you teaching our kids over there? The kids have finals, have to pack AND clean on the same week. Yeah, no pressure there.

After speaking with faculty here, I feel ashamed and utterly disrespected that this is the institution my family’s hard earned money is going to.
Students are not trying to cause problems—we have nothing to gain from that. We are trying to figure out our living situation! Being dismissed, ignored, lied to or even belittled is a commonality of all of my experiences in the ResLife office. I seriously would give 0 stars if I could. I pray for the people that work here to realize that we are just people who want somewhere safe to live. They can’t even provide us that.

They are such money grabbers. Every chance they get. Multiple people from their office told me that I would have no additional charges after graduating a semester early. However, it appears no one in reslife knows how to keep things in order. Constantly have to call in to contest ridiculous charges that don’t apply to me while they fight me the entire time. It appears a staff change is necessary as it’s always been a battle with them for years.

Live off campus if you get a chance. These people want nothing other than your money. Their facilities are outdated, and vastly overpriced relative to offerings outside of campus. Places like The Reserve on Perkins, Avia, 51 apartments (and many others -- google it) offer much better customer service and better housing options (full kitchen, modern furniture, full baths, etc) for about the same price.

Keep in mind that if you do decide to live on campus, you will also be purchasing a $130 parking sticker. Which does not guarantee you a spot. Most the times you will have to park 15 minutes from your dorm. Unacceptable. Much better parking situations can be found off campus.

Another reason to consider living off campus is the ridiculous end of the semester charges that they will make up to get even more money out of you. They say things like, "this wall needs to be repainted", "this tile needs cleaning", "this door needs refinishing", etc. The majority of the time, these issues are not you're fauilt -- these buildings were built in the 50's and 60's, and now they want YOU to pay to upgrade them. These surprise "fixes" can costs $500+. That's not a good surprise for your last day or two of the semester.

There's a reason a lot of students are moving off campus, and you should consider it as well.

You've been warned.

They wouldn’t let us register for housing until June 1st because my son is a transfer student and then they made us sign a contract and pay a deposit before telling us he was waitlisted for a room and then when we tried to cancel they said the deadline to cancel was May 1st. How can the deadline be a month before the registration opens? Do not expect clear communication or any support from housing at OSU, they expect the parents and students to just know everything when we’ve actually never done this before.

Worst people to deal with at the university! Try to stay away from living at the university housing if you can. If you live there, expect to be charged tons of money at the end of your stay and the worst attitude.

They just need your money nothing else, I would put zero stars rate if it exists.
