Dr. Benjamin S. Zertuche, MD

I've seen Dr Z through the past years but long enough to need to establish being a new patient. I must say I'm still very trusting of him and the NP Andrea. PLUS PLUS PLUS yall his staff omg they are angels. My youngest (2 yr old) has severe adhd and autism and bangs his head when he's over stimulated and let me tell you they sprang into action and kept him occupied as well as took him around the office so I can see her and actually get help. This was my first visit in years and hands down the best experience since having my son with me at the doc that I've ever had they really cared about me and him too. Thank yall so so much

Absolutely love Dr. Zertuche, delivery was perfect and now pregnant again and for sure went back to him . Very positive man, smiles on his face.

This man is an amazing DR...he delivered my son...as a matter of fact he also delivered a baby of someone I know...very friendly and funny...

Dr. Zertuche treated my husband who was in bad health.....Dr. Was very concerned about his health at all times...

You will not see a doctor unless you are pregnant. All nurses practitioners and inter students. But I will say this the students attire is more professional than the plane cloth practitioners . They are so concerned About getting your money up front even if you have questions about there policies. They want things thier way on their time. Even when you've been going there for years and they have been billing your insurance you would think they would have the coman courtesy and professionalism to try and at least correct the matter or at least hear you out. Then one of the staff tells me they have alot of nursing home patients and they are overwhelmed. That's why things are so chaotic. You will wait there a long time pack your patience and lunch. Better off going somewhere else it's not worth the time wasted and frustration.

My son had to have surgery on both wrist thursday night South Texas Regional Hospital and Dr. Zertuche was assigned as the floor doctor of the hospital. His surgeon, the amazing dr. Cho, told us that he would be release friday morning since it was considered outpatient surgery. We meet Dr. Zertuche while my son was in recovery Thursday night and he told us he would be busy friday morning in San Antonio with his daughters so it would be friday after lunch before he could make it there too discharge him. My husband and I said that would be fine. Friday came and went. We did find out that he sent orders that my son needed to complete before discharge by 7 pm friday night. By 5 my son had everything complete except removing a catheter because the nurses could not get ahold of him to get the orders to do so. He called at 530 to say he wasnt coming in at all that night and my son was going to spend another night. We talked to administration about the lack of care we seem to be getting from this doc and how upset we were because my son was doing so well. The admin talked to the doc on the phone and he told us he would be there that night. Well again friday night came and went and no Dr. Zertuche. By 730 saturday morning we still did not have discharge orders or a prescription on file (the only thing keeping us there). I had enough and demanded another doctor and to talk to admin. I guess he didn't want to lose out on payment cuz we were discharged 30 minutes later. When I got his prescription I saw he wrote it on thursday so then I knew we truely were just waiting for him to FIND THE TIME to come discharge my son. I asked for another doc early friday night if that was the case but was assured it wasn't even though the doc pretty much told me the 5 minutes we did spend with him. The hospital and all other staff was excellent. Would ask for another doc if you get assigned this one though.

Dr. ZERTUCHE is NOT a doctor. Instead of listening to the family on what the patients requirements were per his specialists for Congestive heart failure, he chose to give the patient 1/4 of the dosage of required and needed medicine. Within the month of June, the patient has gained 20 lbs of fluid.

We contacted heart doctor, he said he is in congestive heart failure. Zertuches office hung up on a family member trying to get help. Zertuches finally called nursing home to get patient out of nursing home. If patient survives the night, it will Not be because of Zertuches good care.

Please think again before using this "doctor". I pray our family member will make it through tonight.

Went to take my cousin to an appointment, gave us trouble from the start. Upon appointment I asked if I could wait in the waiting room until my cousins appointment was over because I had no a.c in my vehicle and I didn't want my 6yr old to be hot and sweating. They said no. So currently outside in the hot sun waiting. How can they run a family practice / ob and refuse to at least seat a mother and her daughter in the building.

I wish I could give 0 star, doctor visit charge me 40 $, and what I get is worst experience ever, long waiting period, I went for my OB/GYN regular visit they did not even analysis my urine sample and have not uploaded any test results to patient portal after requesting and calling them 6 times.
