Shugga Hi Bakery AND Cafe

I had the veggie stuffed biscuits. Make sure you get honey butter to pour over it.... it's delicious!!! It's dry without it. My niece had the chicken & waffles & she said the chicken was bland. Another friend had the fried whitting fish, which was yummy!!!
The live music is soooo good!!! The gentleman is such a great guitar player we found ourselves singing to the old school music!! The servers were excellent!!! The owner is very friendly & helpful!!

Cannot say enough amazing things about Shugga Hi! From the moment we parked there was a sweet smell coming from the restaurant. Walking in we received a warm welcome from everyone and there were the kindest! Food was absolutely delicious - I highly recommend the chicken & lemon waffle and biscuits and gravy. The atmosphere feels homey and like a big family. To top it off, Alacia LR has a wonderful voice and sang some of my favorite songs the whole meal. Can’t wait to come back :)

All we can say is WOW!! We came from out of town wanting to have a relaxing and chill brunch and we found the perfect spot at Shugga HI! All of the staff was friendly and very helpful. There was live music with a very talented guitarist. They even sang happy birthday to my boyfriend! We couldn't have asked for anything more. If you haven't gone to Shugga His yet, what are you waiting for??

We were on a road trip and seen this place as we were headed out. We decided to stop and have some breakfast. Immediately upon entering we were greeted by multiple staff member. The energy was so welcoming and hospitable. They seated us quickly. They were very attentive. We happens to show up on a Sunday when they had dinner and breakfast buffet. Let me tell you this place didn’t disappoint. The food, staff, atmosphere, music, etc were on point! Highly recommend.

I m just going to get right to it atmosphere pleasantness good vibe it was y’all i felt so comfortable here ok let’s talk about the food it was a table of 8 so I had like 3 omelets smh they were just that good 😊 so I’m sorry but everyone else was pleased with there breakfast and dinner brunch it’s a must go to and the story behind the restaurant is amazing I will definitely be back

This place is a gem. The quality of the ingredients and preparation.. friggn YUM. The vibe of this business, the music is very cool, and friendly. Get the bomb, then come back and thank me later, or the Catherine.

My first time visiting Shugga Hi and it won’t be my last!!! Went for the first time for my birthday brunch (10/27) and everything was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! 1000/10 I will definitely be back.

We were in town for a business event and decided to find a black owned business for breakfast. The atmosphere was PERFECT! The food was AMAZING! I had the Tatertot waffle and I've never had a waffle that fluffy and soft. Absolutely amazing!!! I will definitely visit again. They even had live entertainment at 930am on a Saturday....just perfect.

The sisters that founded this black owned gem of a place did a great thing! One a baker and the other a lawyer and both did not have restaurant experience! The buffet breakfast was delicious with many options to choose from and the mimosas served at 10am (due to laws prohibiting before that time) were amazing! It feel like home and it was great to fellowship with everyone ❤

When they say they treat you like family, it's true, not just a motto. This was the first of several future visits. The atmosphere is great with the smooth blues/jazz guitar and singing of Mr. Richards. Sorry, forgot his first name, but you won't forget his music. Food was great. I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had the 4 egg omelet. Both meals were fantastic and cooked to perfection. Can't say enough about the friendliness and attention to detail shown by the owners and waitstaff. This will become a regular weekend stomping ground, for the wife and I.

We had a wonderful experience, The food was great. Super friendly staff and owners. Restaurant was clean and efficient. They had a live jazz player playing. The owners have a great thing going here. Whenever we come to Nashville we will definitely return for breakfast.

We had a great experience. We were in Nashville for an event and looked up black owned restaurants when we came across Shugga Hi. It didn't disappoint. The food was great, the staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was a whole vibe with live music at 9:00 am in the morning. I loved it and will definitely be back! 😍

This has been the best restaurant I have EVER been to in my life from the pleasantness of the staff, to the delicious food, to the live entertainment to the owners open door policy. I felt at my home surrounded by friends and family. The place is full of compassion, love and kindness. They treat you like you belong without judgement. I love Kathy's story of how she opened this restaurant with her sister. Ask her about it. She gives back to the community by donating hot meals to those that can't afford them and she helps those young children eat when there are no free school meals. Monday through Saturday meals are prepared to order and on Sunday it's buffet style. Any time I can return to Tennessee I'll make it a point to stop in and enjoy my home meal away from home.

The wait for the food is kind of long but it’s worth the wait. I don’t know what is in the food but dang! The chef can cook! Worth it.

First timer today and y’all must put this hidden gem on your list! Sunday brunch was being served and had plenty of delicious offerings. The food was on spot and the service tip top! AND…they even have live jazz music playing in the dining room. We plan to be back soon!

Soooo good! Juicy, golden fried chicken, red velvet waffle, Henny syrup and full bar with live music. If that isn't enough to get you in here right away, they also donate all the money back into the community and put on holiday meals. Definitely a place that makes Nashville great.

Enjoyed jazz brunch on Sunday. It was our first time in and we were so delighted. Kathy, one of the owners, greeted us and John Richards was phenomenal on jazz guitar.

1st Timer! Let me start by saying You never know what someone is going through! Not that it’s the customers business and not that you have to care but given the previous reviews I’ve read that are recent-People need to be BETTER at being decent human beings! Me and my girlfriend sat at the bar for Saturday Breakfast/Brunch and the atmosphere just felt so warm and comforting to be there. Service was good! We met the Owner and the owners niece which were also our servers (God Bless y’all) were nothing but inviting! Food was really good, it had a nice home cooked southern taste to it and the Mimosa’s was on point. And let me not forget the Love I have for Smooth Jazz/Blues but even better live 😍. Black Owned Business as well!! Thank you so much for a really Nice experience! Highly recommend!

The food was absolutely amazing. My steak was well seasoned and cooked medium like I asked. It was a beautiful plate of food. I loved all the paintings throughout the restaurant. It was a nice and cozy atmosphere with live music. The service was top notch as well.

What a nice, quaint spot to eat. I loved all things about it; the ambience, service, food, art and music. We were greeted and seated shortly after entering. Please note that there is limited seating, so if you go during a busy time, please expect to wait. Our order was taken and we were checked on multiple times after placing our order. If I had to say one not so good thing about the restaurant, it would be about my food (chicken) not being done when it came out. However, the owner addressed my concerns immediately and corrected the issue. And boy was that chicken and waffles good. We had visited this restaurant two weeks after one of the owners had passed away, and so it was a blessing to see everyone continuing to push through and meet everyone in great spirits. I love that this is a black owned restaurant who also gives opportunities to those that are disabled in one form or another. I would definitely recommend and return to this restaurant.
