True Texas BBQ

10/23 - made the hour and forty-five minute drive to check out BBQ. It was great and worth the drive to get. We enjoyed it very much.

Don’t let the grocery store location fool you, this is great barbecue!

True Texas BBQ is grocery giant H-E-B’s foray into the barbecue world, and it’s really amazing. All the meats are smoked in-house, and are delicious. Their baked potatoes topped with different meats are extra filling. The sides are great, too, with rotating seasonal desserts being an extra treat. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pro tip: come earlier rather than later because they will often sell out of the more popular items.

We have friends who live nearby this HEB grocery store and the True Texas BBQ cafe located here is their go-to place for BBQ lunch. We ate here twice in a week visit because it was outstanding! The brisket sandwiches are extremely good! They also have a daily special posted which is a "can't go wrong" order. DELICIOUS ! The sides are very good too and very fresh. The cafe is in the HEB supermarket so it does get busy but we were always able to get a seat. HEB is also an outstanding grocery store! Makes us want to live nearby! TRY IT !

I love their food so much. Everything is delicious and fresh. Definitely get pickles! They are the best, crunchy and yummy. The pulled pork and brisket are soft and perfectly cooked. HEB employees are always so cheerful and provide fantastic customer service.

If you think BBQ in a grocery store can't be that great then you are wrong! Surprisingly good! We had brisket which was perfect and the sides we got were really good as well. Also got the brisket nachos which were better than some we've had elsewhere!

This heb has it all! I love it! It also has the two restroom areas,so you never have to wait in line till you burst,like other stores. The people at this store are also very kind ,helpful,and understanding. Keep up the good work!

It's great to have the ability if you need to conveniently eat a meal or snack while shopping. There is a huge selection of food's for all groups and medical conditions.

We were meeting my granddaughter's uncle to do an exchange and we wanted to eat before heading back to Corpus. We looked up restaurants and decided on bbq. We did freak out a little when we ended up at HEB but we got down anyway. It was honestly the best bbq I've eaten. The brisket beans were awesome!

AWESOME BBQ, Juicy Turkey, The Pork Ribs are fabulous as well, Sausage is great and not greasy. The potato salad is great, the pinto beans are fantastic. Pedro was a very friendly and nice man. I will tell everyone about this place. My family won't be going anywhere else to get bbq. BEST PLACE TO BUY BBQ!!!!

This is located at the BBQ counter in HEB. All the meats are really good (turkey for the turkey sandwich is always moist!!!) The baked potatoes are HUGE and Pedro makes the best ones so if he's working prepare yourself for an amazing potato experience!!!

Would like to thank Pedro and his staff at True Texas BBQ in Pleasanton for being very courteous, patient and helpful. The BBQ was some of the best that we have had anywhere in Texas along with the potato salad and beans. It was worth the trip from San Antonio. We will definitely make the trip again.

Never been to an HEB that had a bbq food place inside. It was delicious! The brisket was tender and just melted in your mouth! Pedro and the other ladies were friendly and we loved it! Corpus Christi needs one of these food places!

The food was awesome! The best BBQ in the area and was great service and very friendly!

Brisket is f'n delicious! Sides, sausage, and chicken too. Staff here is very kind and helpful, suggestions given and all when asked. Just a bit higher in price, but I'm still coming here again nonetheless.

It truly lives up to it's name. Was passing thru town and stopped in. Grandkids were very restless from the ride, bouncing off walls, took one bite and sit quietly and ate all their sandwiches. I enjoyed it so much got a sandwich to go for later. Will be taking a road trip for more

A higher end on price but have outstanding service, the fantastic yummy BBQ! Wish I could give more than 5 stars. :) The meat literally was falling off the bones. I can't wait to go back.

Delicious and very affordable.

Most brisket, very tender. The smoked turkey is very good as well. Love the baked potato with either pulled pork or chopped brisket.

Very tasty BBQ I would def eat again, it's not really a restaurant though its a deli counter in the HEB so you need to have a place to eat.

I don't have any pictures to post I'm not you know always you know having my phone taking pictures of what I'm eating but it is a good place to go it is you know the same amount of pricing as where you would go anywhere else great food great atmosphere waitress and staff is excellent I recommend
