Opa! Greek Taverna

Greek food is a cuisine that I'm really getting into lately. I've noticed this place every time I pass through and I finally gotten around to trying, and it is really unique and great! This is the first Greek restaurant (for me to find) salmon on their menu, and it was wonderful! It came with a side plate of rice, green beans, potato wedges and pita, and all together it was a well balanced meal. For my drink, I had the cucumber limeade, and it was refreshingly delicious! For dessert I couldn't have said no, so I went for the Russian Napoleon. It was sweet, yet fulfilling. And for the closing of my meal, I had a Greek coffee and it was excellent!

I've been to their sister restaurant over in Rockwall called Onassis and was told that this restaurant also existed. I came here today for the first time and I really loved their atmosphere. They're outside patio is very inviting, and they're inside is a nice cozy modern Greek place. They have some Greek wine as well as American wine, Greek beer and American Beer. They have a number of specialty cocktails as well. I ordered their shrimp Souvlaki which had two skewers full of generous sized shrimp, grilled with lemon butter, plenty of rice, Greek green beans and about 8 of pita triangles. I paired it with their Greek white wine and had plenty to eat. I don't remember hearing any music but the atmosphere was very cozy and quiet. I saw what looked like belly dancing in some of their photos so I would be interested to know if they have a schedule for that. All in all very good meal I wouldn't mind coming back.

This place is always a treat. Friendly people, excellent food, good atmosphere. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't already.

This is a wonderful place. Visited here with some friends. I absolutely love their "All You Can Eat" Greek salad and Lemon and Rice soup combo. I'm sure there are other soups you can select, but I have no interest in trying them!! The Lemon and Rice soup is AMAZING!!

Friendly and helpful staff, good is always good, and the restaurant has always had a good vibe and energy to it.

If you're debating whether or not to drop in... just go! You likely won't regret the decision!

Long overdue on this review. My wife and I stopped in for a little date night. Many times when we stopped by Opa is packed, with such great food it is hard to find them with tons of empty tables. the food is good, the service is great and the owner puts his heart into everything he does. We really enjoyed ourself and the food. I was a huge fan of the Greek Coffee, it is something that you can really zit and "chew the mudd" on at the end of the meal. Great for a finish to a great meal.

This place has great food and our server Mitchell was amazing! I had the Hercules gyro and my wife had the chicken Alfredo. Both were very delicious! Highly recommend this place. We will be back!

Always pass by this place and never stop by, until today and it was the best decision and place to eat at. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted by all the employees With a friendly welcome and with smiles. We decided to eat outside since it was a beautiful day outside, the patio dining area was clean and nicely decorated. Our waitress had blue eyes and her customer service skills were great and was very polite. We had asked for strawberry lemonade and she told us that they didn't have any so we just got regular lemonade... As soon as we got our drinks our lemonade were reddish pink, she told us that she added strawberry syrup and it tasted amazing!! she literally went out of her way just make our drinks when she didn't even have to.
We ordered the calamari and the calamari was good with good breading, we also ordered the chicken and shrimp souvlaki plates, with some feta fries and and potatoes..... Those feta fries are a 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 best fries i haver ever had in my life. Overall everything was delicious, from costumer service, appetizer, main dishes, drinks, and desserts. I'm for sure coming back👌👍 amazing spot and highly recommend

Got the spartan burger and Greek roasted potatoes. Out of this world good. Everything thing on their menu is very good. Give them a try if you haven't been there before, you'll be glad

Great food. It was fresh and tasted amazing! The food was flavorful. The gyro was well seasoned and everything was fresh! The vegetables and pita included. Sometimes, when you get a gyro from someone, if they don’t know what they’re doing, the gyro can be dry. Not this place. Also, the feta fries were really good too. They had some awards and articles on the wall and with out even having tried much on the menu, I see why.
The baklava was also very tasty. Just the right amount of sweetness, stickiness and flake. We will return.

Had the Big Lambowski for brunch and coffee. Fantastic. Baklava for desert. Great food always, fresh, hot and quick. Owner and staff are wonderful. Joe the musician playing. Great voice.

Our first time eating here and we are looking forward to coming back. We live in The Colony and it's worth the drive. The best falafel I've had in the Dallas area, all the meats were tender, moist and well seasoned. We got the huge sample platter. falafel. Just loved the green beans with tomato sauce. (I think it could feed 3 people maybe 4, the two of us had two boxes of leftovers.) I'm not fond of lima beans and they let us substitute them with falafels. We started the meal with the bacon wrapped dates...oh sweet heaven you had me at bacon. Just amazing flavors in your mouth!

Came here for the first time on my birthday and can see why they have such a high rating. Their food is made from scratch and it shows. I had the Bacon Wrapped Dates, Shrimp Souvlaki Platter, and a slice of chocolate cake for dessert. The food was nothing short of fantastic and the staff were warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

Sunday brunch was great! Service was good and the food was yummy. Good prices and will go back for sure!

Friendly staff, open restaurant, clean, entertainment of seating inside and out (if you want to melt in this heat). I ordered a lamb gyro pita. It was ENORMOUS! Stuffed with delicate, delicious lamb meat! Tzatziki was delicious, not runny or too thick. Looking forward to trying their other items.

We went for the brunch and it was delicious! We got the Greek Breakfast Boat and the Golden Greek Eggs Benedict with the deep fried crème brûlée French toast. So tasty and seasoned. Try the Greek Water also if alcohol is your thing!

We will be coming back for lunch or dinner soon because the regular Greek menu sounded delicious too!

We visited here a while back when we were in town for a conference, and were blown away. The server was very knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions about the menu. We decided on the platter so we could have a variety of items to try since this was my first time to try Greek food. I loved it all! It was so much food for just 2 of us that we wound up taking some back to the hotel with us. It was still good reheated later! We have been excited to come back to visit again the next time we are in town!

The food is super delicious, you will want to try everything on the menu! They also have a full bar, drinks were made to perfection!

I have always loved going to this place. I like how they are open relatively late and the food has always been good quality, especially their lamb and pita bread. The location is nice too, they are around so many good restaurants in the area that I feel the competition keeps this restaurant on their toes. The staff has always been friendly to me as well, especially when I ate here after my highschool graduation.

I love the atmosphere at this restaurant. We know the owner and he is a great guy and runs a great establishment. He has a lot of potential and has a lot of enthusiasm. His family members are from Greece and have a great recipes they brought to this restaurant. Also the brunch is amazing.
