It was a pleasure to rent from Yo Yo for a summer cottage in GLP. the GLP community is so lovely with great beaches, tennis courts, and of course the GLP "Spa"/"Casino" for a great bite. Many of the rentals are monthly rentals only but Yo Yo was able to find us a cottage that was week-to-week which is rare in this area and exactly fit our needs! The paperwork was professional and helped both the renter (us) and owners feel secure about the transaction. The house was lovely, clean, and was a great price - especially considering we were one block away from Main Beach. We will be coming back every summer we are able to and renting through Yo Yo and her team! Thanks so much Yo Yo!

Shutters and Sails (Jay Carroll) exceeded out expectations with the service they have provided to us. We moved to a temporary rental In Groton Long Point in January of 2021. We had a very short timeline to secure housing by June 1, 2021. I was introduced to Jay Carroll after contacting Yo-Yo Carroll about a property. Jay has been the most attentive, dedicated, patient, kind committed, and hard working person I have ever met. He secured 2 short term rentals for us negotiating the terms and length of the lease and even negotiating the monthly rent. Even though he helped us with the short term rentals he was also helped us purchase a home In the area. His commitment to helping us was nothing like I had experienced before. He served as a much trusted advisor and friend listening to every detail about the type of home we wanted to purchase. He exceeded our expectations and help us find the home of our dreams in one of the most competitive real estate markets in history. He and his team provided white glove service to us for the 2 year period we worked with him. I have referred several friends and family who have also been equally as pleased. I absolutely love working with YoYo Carroll Real Estate. We were looking for a summer rental in Groton Long Point and were not entirely familiar with the community layout. We had some very specific needs (close to the amenities and children's activities), and a somewhat modest budget. YoYo showed us several rentals, some her listings and some listings of others, to be sure we had exactly what we wanted. We ended up extending the rental that summer and signing on for several more full summers. I appreciated that she took the time to listen to what was important to me and to my family, and to show me all of my available options.

Jay Carroll is PHENOMENAL! After finding 2 rentals in GLP the helped us close on a home. It was a sensitive closing, which Jay handled in his signature grace and style. A legend of a human.

I had a TERRIBLE experience in dealing with this office.

My Wife is in the Military. A year ago, when we found out we would be stationed here, from Washington State, we began looking for a home to rent in the Mystic area.

We found a place on Zillow (38 Walter Fish Ave., Mystic), and it was being listed by YoYo Carrol.

Although we had no opportunity to look at the place in person, because we were currently stationed over 2k miles away, we began communicating with this office.

We were counting on the place being properly represented by the listing on Zillow, the posted pictures, and by YoYo and Gail. We were also counting on this office and the Landlords NOT wanting to do bad business with a Service Member (who also has a new Baby in the house).. So, we sent a Deposit (sight unseen), and moved out from Washington.

When we arrived and got the keys to the house it was A MESS! It looked as though the place had not been cleaned AT ALL after the last tenants had moved out (although there is a clause in the lease requiring professional move-out cleaning). In fact, it appeared that the place had been grossly neglected for MONTHS!

There was peeling wallpaper, holes in the walls, filth in the bathrooms and kitchen, mold on the ceiling, filthy floors, overgrown yard, broken storm doors, rotten gutters, and more. WE DID all of the move-in cleaning ourselves (while my wife was 9 months pregnant and starting a new job).

Getting the (ABSENTEE) landlords to get any work done on the house was a NIGHTMARE! They would insist that we communicate through this office, and this office would drag their feet on passing on requests. On multiple occasions, YoYo has been extremely RUDE to me, and Gail has told me one thing and then did another. The SLUMLORD (Donna Lamont of Larchmont, NY) would promise that they were going to get work done, and then it would never get done.. Then, after months had passed and I called her to ask when she was going to get work done, she would RUDELY insist that she knew nothing about the problem and had not made any promises.

I did some research. It turns out that YoYo Carrol had convinced her COUSIN (the current owner) to purchase this place in 2007, for more than the place was worth. Now, the owner can't afford to keep the place up, and YoYo continues to make money off of her cousin's bad investment.

When we moved out (05/14), there was an ongoing problem with the plumbing (causing sewage to back-up and flood the basement), which they would only arrange for cheap fixes, the gutters are left in a state of deterioration, there are insects growing in the deteriorating siding, and many other issues.

After months of attempting to work with these people and get them to care for their property, they informed us that they would be selling the house and that we needed to move out. After we moved ourselves out, they removed the for-sale listing and re-listed it for rent. HOW SHADY!

When we moved out, although WE did ALL the cleaning when we moved in, we arranged for and paid for professional move-out cleaning, and provided this office with a receipt for proof. Now, we are being told by the SLUMLORD OWNER that the cleaning was not "Satisfactory" and that they were going to have THEIR cleaning person come in and subtract that cost from our deposit. Now, over 30 days after we moved out, we still haven't received our deposit refund OR EVEN a notice of how much they are subtracting from it. When I called the owner to ask why we hadn't received the deposit within the 30 days (as stipulated in the lease), she RUDELY said "Whatever! It's in the mail!".

In other words... STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE!

If YoYo will make money off of convincing her own COUSIN to make a bad investment...
If they will do such a Dis-Service to a US Service-member..

They will screw you over too!
