Bookie's - New and Used Books

Professional, helpful, knowledgeable staff. The ambience in this store is soothing, welcoming, quiet and warm. The selection of books is wonderful considering their limited space and I can always find several books of interest. The experience of browsing and purchasing items from our local store, INSTEAD of giving business to behemoth Amazon, supports our community. Also consider their gift section; there is always a unique selection of gift items that seems to have the name of a friend or family member on them. Thank you, Bookies, for your loyalty to Beverly.

Great local bookstore with a good selection of all the genres. It's open and bright as well, not packed in tight like many small shops. There's a mix of new and used books with plenty of deals to be had. The staff is friendly and helpful too.

I always love independent book stores, and Bookie's is no exception. While they don't have a location in Homewood anymore, they provide free local delivery for Homewood/Flossmoor residents. They also gave a generous discount to a group of us students in a yoga teacher training, which saved me a lot on the texts - and came with a surprise gift card too! Thank you so much, Bookie's!

The workers are very helpful and kind. Great section of children and adult books. New and used are mix up with each other. Call ahead when you are going to drop off books since it seems they are way behind. They have a small section of comic, graphic novel, and manga. Likely have the bestselling or trending book. Would love to come again. ❤ 📚

Bookie's remains my go-to bookstore. The staff is amazing. The selection is on point (and what isn't on display is often orderable). While I miss them in Homewood dearly... the trek to Beverly was easy enough and they even had parking in the back. Kudos all around.

Been supporting Bookies since their old location next to the 7-Eleven. The location is really nice and organized. Can say I've haven't had a bad experience. The customer service has always been good in my opinion. Support your local bookstores people!!!! It's nice to look through books and be able to sit and read a bit.

Great mix of new and used books in a clean well organized area. It was a pleasure to browse through their selection and talk with the staff, I kind of wish it hadn't been so nice because I ended up buying way more than I originally intended...LoL....

Great place to find a good read. Ask for recommendations and they will happily help you. Excellent kids and YA section. Love that sometimes a used book will be available at a lower cost.

Magic on Western. There is something for everyone. They go the extra mile to both honor the classics, including contemporary classics, and expand everyone's horizons with a diverse and innovative inventory. They are invested in their seasonal displays, which turn that corner of town into an inescapable reading prompt.

Bookie’s is small but lovely. They have a wide selection of books: from classics to bestselling books and they even have manga. And the staff are super kind and helpful. 10/10 recommend stoping by. :) Ps. They also have super cute tote bags.

Very nice bookstore. Had all the books I was looking for. The lady that helped me was very helpful as well. It would be nice if they had a larger space. Worth the trip and saved a few dollars too, always a plus.

I love this place ❤ always an excellent selection and if they don't have something, they'll order it and have it within a couple of days.

Phenomenal selection, including your classics, best sellers, local favorites, more obscure titles, and everything in between. The staff is super helpful and friendly, giving off a real neighborly vibe. I would be remiss to not mention the above and beyond customer service skills of one employee, a young woman with red hair, who always seems to make an extra effort to accommodate and assist customers.

A large selection of popular & classic books, stationary, and games at very agreeable prices. The staff is very knowledgeable, nice, and helpful. If yes something you can't find, they'll order it for you.

Love the new location on Western! Just around the corner from the old spot. My 'go-to' bookstore when the teen waits until the last minute to tell me he needs a book for class; always a great local option for new and used books needed right away. Everyone is friendly and the owner is always very resourceful. The discount program is also pretty neat. Glad they've been in the neighborhood since my high school days...

Bookies is a wonderful neighborhood bookstore! If they don't have what you want (because they are smaller) they will order the book for you and it usually doesn't take too long to receive your book. When you donate books you get a discount off of what you buy. The staff is always helpful! Love this store!!

I love this place! It has the atmosphere of a cozy bookstore with the prices of Half Price Books. I was very impressed with their selection, and everything was organized very well. I would definitely come here again!

Bright and clean as well as organized. I love this store with its helpful staff. The new owner is really adding so many new things, from great gift ideas to lots more new children's books.

Great local book store! If they don't have a book they are almost always able to get it for you. I went there the other day with a list of books and had them all brought in. I would rather wait a week and support my local store than feel like I need things instantly.

Great selection and mix of new and used books and the staff is very helpful. The rewards/loyalty program is terrific as well.
