Family Affair Restaurant

It's been a long time since I've been to the Family Affair Restaurant in Freeport, Illinois.
Whenever I am home I try to visit a local venue.
Their skillets are amazing. The supreme skillet has always been my goto choice. This time I got it with the chorizo which gave it the perfect seasoning!
2 skillets with a choice of pancake/crepe/toast and 2 coffee was just under 20 dollars.
The curb appeal still gives carries a bit the former Long John Silver's vibe then it ends there.

Very good food love the family affair omelette and I love the prices you get alot of food for a very good price

What a wonderful restaraunt!! The service was fabulous, the food was delicious!!!! We were quickly and kindly greeted!! All social distancing was in place. I'm so glad this small business is making things work smoothly, during these difficult times. We'll definitely be back!! Prices were phenomenal, too!!
Still glad this restaurant is here!! It's for sale!! I do hope a local family buts it, keeps the menu and continues this business!!!!

Everyone was very friendly and courteous. The place was very busy and our food was delicious and fast. The portions were very filling and the price was reasonable. It was one of the best breakfasts I had at a restaurant. We will definitely go there again.

Remarkably good food at amazingly low prices. Not a fancy place. My turkey club had real-carved turkey and excellent bacon. I normally don't risk ordering iced tea, but it also was fresh and excellent. Highly recommended.

Great food for a really good price! Staff is always friendly and even though they're often very busy when we're there, the service is on time. If I could post a 6th star I would.

Great little restaurant and super affordable! Staff was friendly and we got our food quickly even though it was packed. I can be a picky eater and the cook forgot the added cheese on my omelette but it was so good I ate it anyway. I’m new to Freeport but I will absolutely be back here!

Had a very special Valentine's dinner at Family Affair Cafe with my sons. The food was great and the service was wonderful. Even though the place was packed we felt we were the only ones there as attentive as the staff was. You get a TON of food for your money - so much that we had plenty left over for yet another meal! Love this place!

Growing up my family went here for breakfast a few Sundays every month. The food is cheap, the skillets are good portions and taste fabulous.
Meals the rest of the day are good too, but breakfast is where it's at.

Lucked out on this gem! EXCELLENT food(it's REAL) and fast, friendly service. Fresh eggs in my asparagus/onion/pepper jack cheese omelet. Fresh cut, ripe & sweet melon. Tasty chicken fried steak. The staff is so friendly and heloful. Sue was THE BEST server ever! Lots of locals here so you know it's good. Nice inexpensive M-F breakfast specials. Less than $25 for 3 on regular menu.

Cheap family diner. Not fancy or scratch, but it was very affordable and tasted just fine. Do not like the spaghetti sauce at all. It had peppers in it. But everything else was what was expected. Good value for money. Cheap breakfast!

I was there when it opened at six in the morning October 12,2019 with seven other vehicles! The restaurant was clean and had a very friendly young waitress and the cook there. She was extremely efficient and had everyone's order to the cook in a matter of minutes! My omelet was to die for and the decalf Delicious.

Love this place. The food is always good and the waitresses are outstanding. Make you feel at home. I could eat here 3 meals a day all year.

Good Food Great prices and friendly servers. Two people ate for less than $16 including drinks. Our burgers were very good.

Best service, very clean and especially Covid appropriate for in-dining service. Best food sand if you leave hungry, there is something wrong! Huge probs, great prices, it's a family affaire! Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy omelet or the scrambles... Any omelet is amazing but the BG omelet is exceptional! Enjoy and please try them out continue to be a patron as this would be a sad place to lose sure to economics and Covid.

Nothing I can say bad about this place. Food, prices, and service were all great. Not a long wait either. Will definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

This place pleasantly surprised me. They had a list of specials, as you go in. The food tasted very fresh, not like it was in the fridge for awhile.
4 of us ate, had something to drink, for 30 dollars. My mom had backed cod, corn, French onion soup, cottage cheese, coffee, and a garlic bread, butterpeacon iceream. It all came as a senior dinner. Wow! Service was fast, polite, helpful. Can also have breakfeast all day long. Open 6am till 9pm

Tastey food cooked to perfection with great servers to go with it andthe prices are just as good you wont leave hungry and your cup will always be full!
