Amazing University! The professors and staff are very down to earth and extremely knowledgeable. Great programs available for the students, the campus is the perfect size and very safe. The dorms are awesome, nice and spacious and they have great food in the dining areas. Love the feel of some of the buildings, such beautiful architecture. The community is very friendly too. Highly recommend WIU!

I'm an alumni of Western Illinois University. I graduated in December 1997. I received a Bachelor of Science in Geography (Meteorology). My experience at the university was from 1995-1997 and it was wonderful. My degree has provided me wonderful chapters in my careers. I'm very happy about my decision to educate at this place.

I got my first bachelors here in 2010 on scholarship and it was the best choice I've ever made. I found amazing friends and top-notch professors who weren't in it for the paycheck. I went on to pursue other things and a few years later decided to get my MA in music therapy, so I went to another school (since WIU didn't have a MA at the time). The education style was totally different and was a *terrible* decision but I grew from it and in the end decided to go back to WESTERN to get a 2nd bachelors in the field I wanted and ended up getting a MUCH better education and 1:1 instruction/supervision. You can learn the hard way and waste thousands of dollars-or you can just go to Western.

You can get a degree here, so that's good.

I’m completely satisfied with my program. I believe enrolment will rise again within few years!!! Proud to be a leathernecker!!!

There is a reason medical doctors, lawyers, and blue collar workers all respect their children's decision to go to WIU. It is a good university with excellent staff. While college is what you make it, the staff does everything they can to retain, prepare, train, educate, prepare, and graduate students to become business owners or land jobs/internships. Highly recommend you seriously consider this University. This is not University of Illinois but it is one of the better options of public schools in the state. You would be impressed with how organized and on top of things they are. The small town of Macomb is generally very safe. Much better than DeKalb, Champaign, and certainly Chicago.

One school allowed by the usmc ( United States Marine Corps) to use the term leatherneck as their mascot name. Thanks you Colonel Ray Rock Hanson!!

I went to the university union to Chic-fil-A, had a great meal. I ordered a Chic-fil-A chicken sandwich and waffle fries. It was a very delicious meal.

Best years of my life at WIU. Free education, nice chicks, great toga parties in 1978 of the year of Animal House.

Western Illinois University, my alma mater. I will always cherish your beauty and memories. I feel lucky that I attended and graduated from Western. Miss you always!

As a senior in high school, I toured this school and was VERY impressed with the strong program (RPTA) and the friendliness of the people! Might attend school here but Don't know yet!
