Excellent food, friendly service, very nice dining room. Only thing that could make it better would be longer hours of operation :)

True authentic quality sandwiches. The staff are so friendly. Many rooms to dine. The restrooms are individually designed for your privacy and always clean. Great choices on the menu and always offer daily specials.

I’ve always loved Kel-mat Cafe and the new dinner menu on Thursday and Friday is an excellent addition! The Tuscan Haddock is so good! Lots of beverages to choose from; beer, wine, sodas, fresh coffee, etc as well. I recently had an after work party there and they were so accommodating. Everyone was very pleased with their selections. Staff is excellent too!

We stopped for lunch on a recommendation from a local yarn store. I really enjoyed the toasted Naan cheeseburger! My daughter had the pesto flat bread pizza and said it was delicious and my friend had a salad with grilled chicken, which was really big! We all enjoyed, not only the food, but the atmosphere and the wonderful friendly staff!

I have been driving by this sandwich shop for years and I am now kicking myself in the rear end for not stopping sooner! We went because of a friend's recommendation but I will be returning as frequently as possible. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich & cup of soup which was more than enough for my appetite but a big eater may want a full sandwich. The soup was the corn chowder and it was wonderfully creamy and the corn was so sweet. Yummy. The sandwich was #18 on the menu; grilled chicken, spinach, tomato, provolone and roasted red pepper sauce (this sauce is amazing by the way) on a roasted garlic bread. My boyfriend had chicken dumpling soup which was tasty and full of veggies, chicken and homemade goodness! He also had the chicken salad sandwich which I did not try but it looked really good with plenty of chicken salad and a generous dose of sprouts on sourdough. We both liked to atmosphere and decor as well as the friendly service. This is an order at the counter and they bring you your order place so not a great deal of interaction like a traditional service restaurant but everyone that we encountered was very nice and helpful. We will be back much more often as this is a hidden gem in "Skowvegas".

Kel-Mat Cafe is a dining experience in Skowhegan. They Truly stand out as THE superior stop, for delicious quality food. I’ve Always received speedy service delivered by super pleasant and friendly staff. They have a great ranged menu that caters to Gluten and Vegetarian preferences. Super fresh ingredients. All this wrapped up in a lovely brick building, with a quaint cozy dining atmosphere. The Kel-Mat is a must!

Great sandwiches and salads, very fresh and delicious. Especially recommend the Craisin' Pecan Salad (wow!), not to mention the tuna melt on naan bread, which one of my friends exclaimed was the "Best EVER in my life!!!"

Kelmat cafe has proven healthy can still be delicious. I've been going here for an eye on 15 years. The quality has always been excellent throughout the years. Soup, salads, desserts, flatbread pizza and sandwiches all on homemade bread. Need gluten free? The kelmat cafe has gluten free bread and wraps. Highly recommend.

The food at Kel Mat Cafe appears simple, but the flavors have remarkable depth. The cafe is both clean and tidy and all the staff members are friendly and accomodating. I would thoroughly recommend Kel Mat Cafe to anyone looking for a great lunch. I know I'll certainly be returning soon.

I just moved to the area and asked a friend where I could take vegetarians ou to eat. I went with three other people (2 vegetarians included) and each of us ordered a different sandwich and all of us loved it! I have found my new sandwich place!!!

Fantastic food, now under new ownership but same great food and service. Take out and inside dinning, ate inside felt very safe and everything sanitized well. Wear your mask, everyone else is. Will return.

Amazing place with very unique ambience. The place itself is a historic-looking house with a very homey feel and personal touches. I would recommend to ALL. Gluten-free and vegetarian friendly.

Every sandwich I have ever had from Kel Mat has been delicious. The flavors are just incredible. I love the panini with avocado, fresh mozarella and some kind of pesto dressing. It's one of the few all veg sandwiches that really fill me up. My boyfriend is always raving about Big G's but to me their sandwiches are large but not especially flavorful. Give me the #33 from Kel Mat any day.

Super yummy, large menu and they have gluten-free options!!! I have never had a bad lunch from Kel Mat.

Great food, great service, great prices..love grabbing a sandwich or wrap for lunch from here whenever I can!! With so many great choices you're sure to have more than 1 favorite!!!

If you are passing through Skowhegan and looking for a wrap or sandwich this will not have you disappointed or hungry when you leave:) they have plenty to choose from the menu ie pizza salads, and plenty of protein choices to keep you satisfied.!!!

Fabulous food and amazing service! My mother has a severe a gluten allergy and the staff was so understanding and compassionate and made every effort to accommodate her.

Great food, try the salmon wrap. They get overwhelmed sometimes, so call your order in ahead if you're in a hurry for lunch.
