Lakewood Theater

We saw the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels here on a Sunday evening. It's a beautiful old theater, and the production was very well done. We had seats in the first balcony row, which was just about the perfect viewing spot. The theater has well maintained grounds which you can stroll during the intermission. It felt like stepping back in time! It's worth noting that while there isn't an official dress code, it's not the kind of place you would want to show up to wearing a t-shirt or sweatshirt.

We saw The Outsider last Wednesday. It was simply delightful. Thank you and congratulations to the cast and support staff of this production. We may have been only a few in the audience but our appreciation filled the house. Don’t miss this local gem of a theatre.

Saw Lafferty's wake and enjoyed it so much. Very funny, actors great and the audience participation was a real joy.

Wonderful production, far better than we expected. Good food and drinks at the Inn and the history is amazing, as were the actors in The Drowsy Chaperone.
If you enjoy dinner and a show and a bit of history- it’s a great experience.

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon off from work!

Saw the production of the Drowsy Chaperone; Bravo! A rousing musical with an interesting storyline, fun dance numbers, and memorable songs; all of the actors were in excellent voice, spot on timing, and wardrobe appeared period accurate.

I had so much fun, I am ordering tux today for one of the upcoming productions in August.

Drinking Habits is the PERFECT season opener for the 2022 season! The cast was terrific, the play was funny and beautifully performed by all. Ethan Richards stole the show with his brilliant acting and comedic timing that I know he was born with! A young Tom Hanks like actor! Can’t wait to see his career taking off! The sky’s the limit! Great job everyone!

The theatre is wonderful. Everyo e who works there is great actors are amazing. I can't wait to go back. Beautiful setting the food at the restaurant is so great. Our waitress Gabby is a wonderful young woman. If ever in madison maine please try and go to Lakewood theatre you will have a great time.

Summer shows are always a treat at this historic venue and so close to home for me. It’s truly a gem in the area and making an evening of dinner and a show is highly recommended. Be sure to order your desert in advance for intermission!

You are missing out if you don't try an evening out at Lakewood. The actors all give it there best. Been to two plays this summer already. Drowsy chaperone and Half way there. Loved both.

I was so impressed with the show today. Even being a chaperone with the kiddo, I very much enjoyed the performance and the actors and actresses we're fantastic! I had never been to the theater here before, but will absolutely be there again at some point. I'd recommend this venue too all whom have a love of old theater houses and the location is grand as well! On the shore of Lake Wesserrunsett with a restaurant and shop next to the theater is is quite a great experience!! Thanks for a great time Lakewood Theatre!!

Excellent performance of the last play of the Lakewood season. Classic farce with lots of misdirection and multiple characters played by the lead actress. This was a matinee performance and the theater was at capacity. Looking forward to next summer's shows.

I have been to Lakewood Theater many times over the years and have always had a great time! It is a wonderful way to enjoy a different night out! They even have a young actors day camp that I took my son to a few years ago....he had so much fun, and the play they put on for us at the end of the camp was a lot of fun! Do yourself a favor, and go see a play at Lakewood Theater....you will not be disappointed!

The Lakewood Theater is a wonderful experience. They have been delivering high quality stage productions to the central Maine area for 122 years. The local actors and occasional imported talent always deliver a quality production. There really is no comparison to live performances.
There is a restaurant onsite and, in the boxes, you can have your desert delivered to your seat during intermission.

Lakewood Theater is a must-visit summer location. During its annual season, there are numerous opportunities to experience great local theater, with offerings of all different types. Catch a musical! Enjoy a comedy! Take a group of children to play crafted just for them. Don't forget to arrive early and have dinner/drinks at the Lakewood Inn Restaurant. Support local theater!!
