I wish I went here sooner! My friend Sky works here and she has been amazing to work with and is very knowledgeable on all things hair. If I ever have a question about what products my hair needs or ideas for hairstyles, I know I can count on her! The staff here are always friendly and provide great service. Added bonus: complementary hand massages!

Love this salon. I’m def coming back for my next cut and style. The place smells amazing, their products feel great on my hair and scalp, and the coffee is delicious. My hair came out looking extra healthy and shiny. The stylist, Skyler worked with me to get the look I wanted and that complemented my face. I highly recommend her and this salon.

First time back after several years. Was just going to a barber. My stylist was able to help me achieve the look I wanted and gave me a plan to get there. The staff at Jeffrey Richard makes you feel valued with their exceptional service and care. Totally impressed.

I had a great time at the Salon. I got a perm and it turned out really well my hair was done by Sky her service was great, and very friendly she always laid things out neatly before doing them and did everything that I asked!!

I had a wonderful experience! I’m newer to the area and needed a new salon, and I definitely found a gem. The staff was welcoming, the atmosphere was super relaxing, and I got an amazing haircut!

The salon is comfortable and clean. Samina is a lovely person to spend time with while getting my hair done.

I came here looking for a makeover. Amy was able to take my vision (aided by a few Pinterest pictures) and made it a reality! I have very fine, thin hair and she was able to color it and cut it to make it look fuller. I’m extremely satisfied with the transformation and will be coming back for maintenance of this new look!

As a side note, be prepared to drop some serious money for any service here. My appointment was not cheap. Doesn’t take away from my experience which is why I still give it 5 Stars, but definitely pricey!

Service is amazing and the stylist doing my hair followed my reference photos perfectly. I 100% recommend going here if you want a haircut.

I switched salons 2 or 3 years ago and could not be happier. This salon is the best ever! Absolutely excellent without being pompous in any way. Carissa has figured out my fine hair and my hairstyle is better than it has ever been. Abby is equally wonderful and I can easily go to either. Breanne is wonderful with special styling or haircuts, as well...and my daughter's favorite. The receptionists all make you feel welcomed, important, and appreciated! It is obvious that the stylists and receptionists ENJOY working at the salon and Jeffrey, himself, is warm and friendly, too. LOVE the non-tipping policy. I may never go anywhere else. Thank you all! When I receive compliments on my hair, I send them your way!

Caroline is fabulous. She listens to my requests, advises me on what style best for the amount of time I desire to spend on my hairstyle, and is a great conversationalist to boot! I always walk away with a haircut that lasts me the full 8-10 weeks between appointments or longer and have never been disappointed. Price points are fair and no taxes or tips so the price is the price, there is no guesswork needed.

I had been coming to JR Salon for a number of years and then moved to live and work overseas. When I returned, I called the salon and was thrilled to learn that Gwen is still there! Gwen is THE BEST. She listens carefully when I tell her what I want and follows pictures exactly if I bring one with me. I always get loads of compliments on my hair and I don't plan to go anywhere else. Also, their bang trim service is really awesome. If you need just a little trim between haircuts, you can come in for $20 and will walk out looking refreshed. JR Salon is consistently terrific and I can't recommend it enough.

I just had my last appointment because I’m moving out of town. I know I will truly miss this salon! It was best hair care I’ve ever had. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and care from the front desk, my stylist, and all the staff. Samina my stylist was exceptional at my cuts, styles, and balayage. Her shampoo service was so relaxing I almost fell asleep! If you’re looking for a new salon- this is your place.

Let’s talk about a COVID hair miracle! When I came into the salon, I was greeted with the almost beautiful eye smiles and given a fun little tour of the salon. Kate was super friendly and made me feel incredibly comfortable and very safe. Gwen, my amazing stylist, made me feel like a new person! She transformed my very long and very damaged curls into a these light and bouncy beauties! She was such a pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend Jeffrey Richards salon. You deserve to be pampered!!

If you need a new salon this is the one! I am always skeptical about trying a new place for my hair and have rarely done so, but I am so happy I tried Jeffrey Richard's Salon. My stylist was Taryn (I apologize if the spelling is incorrect), and she did an AMAZING job!! I have never been so happy with a haircut! (seriously I have cried at home after a few- but not after this one!). She is so personable and really listens to what you want. She has the perfect balance of listening to your wants/needs/concerns and adding her professional expertise to make it a great cut that really works for you. I wanted to try curtain bangs but was apprehensive because I am not super great with styling my hair. Taryn walked me through the steps of styling it in a way that works for me. Quick and easy! The salon was also great with ensuring safety protocols for covid-19 which made me feel super safe and at ease. The salon is very clean and welcoming too! The receptionist is also super friendly and. was so helpful with finding an appointment for me.

I have been going to JR Salon for a little over a year now and absolutely love them. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a warm smile and treated as a respected guest. I have an undercut and love the fact that they offer an in between cut for free just to freshen things up before by my next actual hair appointment. The whole experience is so thought out and worth every penny. My stylist is TeeJay and she is fantastic... I have never been disappointed or felt unheard as she works with me to get the perfect cut. She goes above and beyond, it’s obvious she loves what she does!! I always leave feeling completely pampered and relaxed, which unfortunately has not been my experience at other salons. If you do not have a salon to call home.... COME TO JR SALON!!!!

I got another haircut from Caroline, with whom I’ve been meeting for a couple of years now. She does a fantastic job of offering advice, listening to ideas and challenges, and of course has the ability to make any cut look great. Her service combined with Jeffrey Richard Salon’s great facilities and professional service from the moment you enter the door, into the cut, and through the relaxing hair wash and warm face towel makes me look forward to my next haircut each time I leave. My experiences at Jeffrey Richard Salon are always top-notch. Staff are reliably professional, personable, and prompt. I feel they go over-and-above to make my experience a really positive one. My stylist is Abby Heitz and I would absolutely recommend her! She always listens to me and helps me make decisions with her professional know-how. She is consistently lovely:) I appreciate her skill and talent! She makes me look like a million bucks.
Also, I really appreciate the way that they are handling appointments during the time of Covid. I felt very safe and able to relax knowing they were doing all that they could do to keep everyone healthy. Thank you to all of the staff for that. I wouldn't have my hair done anywhere else.

I've bounced around between a few salons in town, and I decided to check out Jeffrey Richard. The wait for an appointment was long but definitely worth it!

I see Caroline for my appointments, and she's extremely knowledgable, friendly, and always does an absolutely fantastic job. My hair is thin and fragile but she's been able to work with me to get to the color I want AND keep it healthy along the way.

I got exactly what I wanted. First time in a long time, after I washed and styled after a cut, I didn't have to snip a few hairs here and there to even out the cut. The cut was perfect! The shampoo and head massage was a real treat, and the make up touch up at the end is a wonderful bonus. I moved from Chicago in 2017 to Grand Rapids. Finding the right "place" is always hard. I am so glad that a friend recommended the JR Salon on Wealthy St. It is fantastic. Very professional, highly personal, and something I look forward to visiting every month. (My stylist is Caroline who in my book is a five-star professional.) Be sure to meet Jeffrey when you are there. He's the boss and is friendly and is incredibly skilled.
