Main Street Inn and Suites

My stay here made my first trip to Mackinac Island feel all the more special. The whole facility was impeccably clean and felt just like home. Staff are extremely courteous and helpful, the best I've encountered in recent memory. The porters moved our bags seamlessly to and from the ferry terminal. Staying here made for a perfectly relaxing vacation. I can't wait to come back.

Super nice staff and room. We had a balcony room on the 3rd floor. Loved the view and peaceful setting. Bed and pillows were very comfortable.
Super soft and large towels and loved the bath robe. The shower was beautiful and all the amenities were exceptional .And they give you free fudge from Joann's

What a lovely hotel! Super convenient location! Right across from the ferry and then in the heart of their “DownTown”! We were celebrating a birthday, and they gave us two little delicious fudge gifts and more fudge the next day. Also, the rooms are well decorated in the traditional coastal cottage theme, taking us back to the simple bygone Victorian era. We loved it! And we would definitely stay here again!

Main Street Inn and Suites is the most reasonably priced rooms I have found on the island. The rooms are large and spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is the BEST, and the towels are the softest and fluffiest of any hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and every day they leave you a nice little box of Joann's Fudge! Highly recommend to anyone staying on the Island.

Awesome hotel that is clean and cute with prime location right off the Main Street in downtown Mackinac Island!!!! 5 out of 5 stars!!! It’s a Victorian esque hotel that’s been renovated and VERY CLEAN so has that historic cute vibe, but not old and musky.

We had done a lot of research to see which hotel to stay at in the island as this was our first time. Debated on staying at the larger resort of Mission Point with amenities but opted for cleanliness, service, location, and large rooms at Main Street Inn & Suites. I could not recommend this hotel enough!! It’s clean, the beds are very comfortable, and super spacious! It was the 4 of us - me and my husband and our two kids - 1 and 5 years old. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds. The upgrade to this room was only $100 more for the entire stay. Totally worth staying in the suite!

Linens, sheets, and towels were clean and the housekeepers give you that Jamaican smile— a little island vibe as well!

Turn down service nightly includes a block of fudge.

Right next to Joann’s fudge and Caddywampus and next to all the restaurants and shopping.

We will be back next year!!!

Situated in the heart of downtown Mackinac Island, steps from the ferry docks. My family's room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we appreciated the convenience of the mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. They offer a turn down service in the evening, complete with a small piece of fudge. Upon checkout you receive a coupon for a free half pound of fudge at the shop right next door.
It was an enjoyable stay and I hope to visit again.

Just spent two nights at the Main Street Inn, and we'd go back in a heartbeat! The room was spacious and adorable, we had a full view of Main Street and the harbor from our balcony, and the room was SPOTLESS. The staff service was impeccable. The bathroom was spacious, the shower was great, and the thick, fluffy towels were amazing. It is right in the thick of things, so it might not appeal to someone looking for a quiet retreat, but the other plusses made up for that. Very well noise insulated when windows are closed.

For one of the most modestly priced hotels on the island, this was one of the nicest stays we've had at a hotel anywhere. Clean and comfortable rooms (the bed was amazingly comfortable!) and great staff. The location couldn't be better!

We were there Aug 27th -30th 2023. This place is beautiful with excellent location! The showers have excellent water pressure, the rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, and great customer service. Walking distance to everything. Close to Sheplers ferry dock so very convenient. Would highly recommend!! Also loved all the free fudge!

Just home from my stay at the Main Street Inn and can’t wait to go back again next year! This was my second stay here and it feels like coming home. You have the privacy of a hotel but the friendly service and care of a BnB. This stay in particular I made a request to have some items stocked and a note written for my boyfriend. This was such a nice cherry on top and made our first trip together so memorable. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Three generations of our family have been staying at Main Street Inn for the past 15 years and we have never been disappointed. The staff is exceptional in every way and the rooms are spotless, comfortable and so relaxing. We can't wait to start the tradition of staying at Main Street Inn with the first member of our fourth generation next year!

Main Street Inn and Suites was just as great as all the reviews I read before booking. We booked 2 suites with balconies overlooking Main Street. Staff greeted us with smiles, everything was spotless, location perfect and we loved the fudge samples at night and fresh coffee by the elevators in the morning. If only ever place we travel to could be like Main Street Inn!

There's a reason this hotel is rated #1 on the island, and now we know why! We stayed here with our family in May for 3 nights, and have been in other hotels on the island in the same area. Main Street Inn and Suites was a HUGE difference from the rest, however, as it was completely spotless inside and out. From the hallways, elevator, billiard room, and in our room itself, everything was incredibly clean and well-kept up (this was a big, big difference from some of the other hotels we've stayed at there!) During evening turn down service, staff would bring us some local fudge, which was awesome!

Here's why we loved it so much-
-The staff was extremely kind and attentive. We ended up needing two pack and plays for our kids at about 9PM unexpectedly. After calling the front desk to ask if they had any, they brought 2 up for us (and bedding for them!) within 90 seconds, no joke!
-Clean clean clean! I cannot stress enough how incredibly clean this hotel was inside and out. I saw the hotel staff spraying and wiping down the entire balcony of each room every morning, just awesome!
-Room was fantastic- we've stayed at other hotels (Lilac Tree, etc) with very similar room layouts, however Main Street Inn and Suites really utilized the space well, making it a much more open, spacious, and functional room.
-Location was absolutely incredible, walking distance to everything.
-The little things that the hotel does- they have fresh coffee by the elevators every morning, they gave us half a pound of fudge when we checked out, and they were super helpful whenever we needed anything.

Seriously, this is the place to stay, you will not regret it!

Everything was well set up and we slept like babies here (bad saying in our experience but that's another story). Top location. Super soft towels. Coffee in hall way. Pool table for our kids. Great!

This charming Inn is located just off the Ferry dock right next to several bike rental and fudge options. It is a great hub for exploring Mackinac island.

The Inn itself is well kept, clean, safe and cozy. I had an interior room and felt like I wasn't missing out at all.

The staff are some of the most delightful and beautiful people you'll ever meet in all your travels. All in all, this is a no-brainer for me.

We got lucky on filling someone's cancellation. I thought we were going to get an expensive hole in the wall on noisy main street. What we experienced was the best accommodations we have ever experienced on The Island - and it was actually quiet at night! Never heard a sound and the mattress was super comfortable. The morning sun shining right on our balcony overlooking Main Street and the harbor was a major bonus - Perfect for a cup of coffee while listening to the clop, clop, clop of the horses below was amazing. The staff was friendly and energetic. We even could store our bikes indoors at night. Housekeeping was excellent.

This is the best hotel on Mackinac Island. Best location, great rooms with front-facing views over street, easy access from the street, great staff, etc etc. We've stayed here multiple times over the years, and while I prefer the suites facing the main street even the other ones are perfectly serviceable - the location is still great and the rooms are super comfortable. This place is literally across the street from the Shepler ferry dock and they come get the luggage and bring it to your room quickly. Although we don't use it they put out coffee in the morning in the hallway. They also have a turn-down service with fudge sample which is appreciated. I may regret posting this review as they do book early, which means next time I may not be able to stay here, ha ha. This is the best hotel on Mackinac in my opinion!

We loved our 2 night stay at the Main Street Inn and suits. The room was very clean and well kept and has the charm of Mackinaw Island. The people at the front desk were helpful and kind and there was a little bit of fudge in our room each night!
The location couldn't be beaten, it's fun to walk right out of your hotel and be on the main street.
This wasn't a problem for us, but if you are coming with a large group the common space areas are not as ideal but they do have a space on the second floor.

The owners Brian and Liz, along with their assistant Maggie were and are awesome! This is our second year in a row of staying there with them, and we will continue to do so. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel right at home and the accommodations are top notch. The rooms, the food, the service, the location to downtown, and the atmosphere are what keeps us coming back. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone.
