Kate did a WONDERFUL job with my hair! I was nervous about my undercut but she was very patient. Listened to everything I told her and was careful to get my opinion before making any cuts. Had a balayage and trim done and am very happy with the results. The salon was also lovely, had a very cozy atmosphere and everyone was friendly, reasonably priced services. Will be back.

After touring around at several different salons in the Grand Rapids metro area, I've settled on Palace Flophouse as my favorite. Reasonable prices, an attentive team, great location, and great ethical values as a business. My stylist was Katie L., and she was very sweet and kind and made the process fun and collaborative.

I'm so in love with PF! Katie did an absolutely astounding job with my hair. As a gal who's had her fair share of stylists not knowing what to do with my waves and curls, I was able to put those fears at ease when Katie walked me through what they were going to do. I got a shaggy wolf-cut with a peekaboo piece of red hair and I feel so spicy! Through every step of the way I felt well informed, and had all of my questions answered. Katie was patient, kind, and was an absolutely amazing stylist behind the chair. I felt even better than I thought I would when I entered, will become a regular for sure :)

I'm a (new) loyal PF Salon client after starting to get my hair cut here as well as booking hair, makeup, and nail services for my wedding. First off, Rachel is my hero! I've received a few haircuts from her and have fun each time while also receiving a beautiful cut. I appreciate her ability to remember how my hair has been growing and the future path of my hair journey! For our September wedding my loved ones and I had an ideal experience with the PF staff. Each person in my wedding party felt heard and looked fantastic in the end! Staff consistently made sure I was happy and confident during the bridal hair/makeup trial and provided results that lasted me the whole (sweaty) day. I loved the ability to rent out the salon for a few hours with some mimosas for an intimate experience with my wedding party. I felt pampered and beautiful because of these badass ladies! Shout out to Aubrey and Alison for their awesome work and to Jodi who made the experience effortless and fun to book.

I have been going here for a while love every cut and style! Each stylist I’ve seen is so nice and does an amazing job every time, they really take my vision to the next level.

My first time coming here was amazing! The salon itself was so comfortable, clean, and welcoming. I have had a lot of hair anxiety in the past, and was very attached to my long length. I came in for a chop and some bangs, and I couldn’t have been happier! My stylist, Sam, did by far the most in depth consultation I’ve had at a salon. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable in every step, and made sure to explain what she was doing - and why she was doing it. On top of that, she gave great suggestions and reassured me of all my concerns. I felt so comfortable and put my total trust in her so easily! I would rebook with her again and again. An easy 5 star rating.

I am so in love with this salon and every person in it! I have been with three different stylists over the last few years and have loved them ALL! However, I have been seeing Chelsea the last few times and she just always makes me feel like the very best version of myself. I moved recently so I went to a local salon and was terribly disappointed with my hair. I drove an hour+ to get back into Palace Flophouse with Chelsea for her to make me look like me again! From crazy colors, to color correction, to moisturizing treatments, to the perfect cut, everything has turned out amazing. The vibe is unlike any other salon around. Relax, pet the dog, have a complimentary glass of wine, and hangout with the coolest people! You will be so glad you did.

I have been a client @ Palace Flophouse for a few years now and feel like every visit is a perfect mix of talent and professionalism. They really know how to nail it!

Friendly with good tunes and exceptional cuts. The styling and care I've received here is unmatched in town. Book early if you prefer frequent visits.

Alison is a nail wizard! Both basic nails and intricate nail art, I can't go anywhere without getting a comment on my nails!

Had such a great experience at Palace! I was a new client and Sam spent a lot of time getting to know my hair, my preferences, and my questions. I decided to have her change my hair PRETTY radically -- Cut off like 6-8 inches! Absolutely love the cut and have been getting compliments alllll day since! Palace also has a chill vibe and awesome products. Will definitely be back on a regular basis.

Went here for the first time yesterday for a hair cut and it was incredible! I saw Ashley who was so lovely and attentive and understood exactly what I wanted. I told her I was a mother of a toddler and she immediately understood that the haircut was also a time of self care for me and she treated it as such. The cut she gave me was perfect! The salon itself is gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing. I’m new to GR and I have definitely found my salon! Thank you for such wonderful service!

Mia did a great job. She's fun and easy to talk to. She didn't exactly what I wanted, even though I gave no direction. I'd add a photo but the rain ruined her beautiful style. I like that they take a questionnaire for new comers. I assume they keep it file and add to it. Great customer care

In the past I've tried to tell stylists what I've wanted done to my hair without much success. I've been wanting a highly textured/shaggy style, and I usually don't leave with the level of movement I'm hoping for. I went to Palace Flophouse for the first time today and not only is it super cute in the salon, but Brooke truly saw my vision and gave me the perfect cut. I feel totally transformed. I'm so glad I've found my salon and stylist!

Kristi did an amazing job with my curly cut. She listened to what I wanted, answered all of my questions and had some wonderful advice on how to handle my curls. Also, the salon space is beautiful and relaxing. I was super comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. I'm so happy with my new cut. I will definitely be back!

This place is the best. I was looking for a new place to get my hair cut (and get my bangs properly trimmed..that’s hard to find!) that could make me feel warm and welcome and also actually listened to about I was looking for. Hali gave me the coolest cut I’ve EVER had—seriously—and even as it grows out, I love every day with it. Easily my favorite haircut of all time. And though I’d just met her, it felt like hanging out with an old friend. She totally made me feel comfortable and heard. The stylists at this salon are seriously doing the coolest hair in Grand Rapids, and revving up people’s souls. I found my new spot and I could not be happier!

I *love* this place. I have very blond, very fine hair and it is cut in a short, aggressive pixie (this can be a hard cut to achieve so you don’t end up looking like a Karen). Ann is bananas talented, and is truly the best stylist I’ve seen in Grand Rapids. I tried out several other salons, and while they were good, Ann is next level amazing. Her team is professional, they’re super hygienic, and they’re also woke AF. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is probably my first haircut in America ever and I really enjoyed the experience. Brooke gave me a relaxing hair wash and then cut it to perfection. I really enjoyed talking to her about my hair and learning to take care of it. It was very relaxing and overall a great experience. 100% recommend

Giorgia did my hair and it was such a great experience. She knew exactly what I was talking about when I tried to describe vaguely what I wanted done with my hair and she got it spot on. Very personable. I loved the atmosphere of this salon. I plan to continue going here! They also are eco friendly
