Captain Jay's Fish & Chicken

Rachel and Rhyonna are both great! Rhyonna was so helpful when I wasn’t sure what to order, ask the right questions was so patient and kind. I felt so welcomed. I will be coming back to 100 percent because there service was top notch. They both made sure I had all my sauces, sides and cake without even mentioning it or asking. . 2 beautiful souls!

I tried this place for the first time yesterday, and I'll say I'm impressed with the service and cost. Not only did they have my order of 50 pieces of chicken ready in under 25 minutes, but the fact that I could use my ebt card amazed me! To top things off, I got a whole bottle of hot sauce with my meal and a bottle of soda for free! I will for sure be going back. Thank you to the staff 😁

Some of the best perch I've ever had in my life! The fries were incredible as well. Meal was just under 12 bucks and came with a drink and coleslaw. 10/10

Listen I'm from down south and this fried chicken right here is the BEST I've EVER had by far! Side's are fantastic, prices are affordable and Desert is out of this world ( Superman Crunch Cake) I regularly drive just over an hour to get these wings! To the people in the kitchen, I thank y'all
and could kiss y'all right on the mouth!

Fish was FRESH and TASTY… even saw a bunch of rods and coolers in the back alley. The place did smell very fishy, but the food tasted great. I’ll be back soon.

I just ADORE THE CRUNCHY SEASONED CHICKEN SKIN!!! The chicken is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING too!!! I have never walked away disappointed. The people are just the friendliest I've met since leaving Geargia.

Texture was perfect! Wings just how i like em. Crispy wuthout being over breaded that it cuts the roof of your mouth.. Had hot and lemon pepper. Gonna have the dark meat next time, it all looked so good. Friendly staff too!

Everytime I go to my home town Grand Rapids I gotta make a stop to this spot on Lafeyette and Franklin (now named Martin Luther King Dr). I'd say the fried chicken here is better than KFC NO CAP!! Also you can get food on EBT and just have to pay a fry fee (like $1 per ordered item like an 8 piece chicken is $1 added on 5 piece shrimp extra $1) but you definitely get ALOT of food for the price. It's also delicious and the workers here are cool AF. Never had a bad employee instance. They're also pretty thorough about double checking your order. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area

Dont listen to these people complaining about the smell of the business, the seasoning they put on the chicken is smacking and aint no other spot got the same taste trust me i tried like 4 other spots listen to me this fried chicken is the truth. If you dont like it you must love that bs kfc hormone chicken wit no real seasoning. Im telling ya the truth!!!

I thought checkers had the best 'fast food' frys. Nope. Captin Jay's are waaaayyyy better. It is possible there is sugar on them.. either way, the crisp 😘👌🏼.
Personally I didnt like the cheese in the jalapeños bites.. but other than that, it was very good. Very fine sugar like substance on the outside.
My oldest had wings, and he said thet were amazing. His friend said he is coming back. And its over an hour drive from us...
So yes..try it.

I was surprised by the portions! I ordered 10 wings and a large fry thinking it would be something you got at like wing stop but I couldn't even eat half of it. Food was delicious and the staff was great. Would recommend.

The staff is always ready to help you, or and take your order. To have such great fish and shrimp...captain jays is a sea food lovers paradise!!! For individuals who are blessed with foodstamps, they too can order anything on the menu and only pay $1.00 to have their meal cooked...and the stamps pay the full price. ENJOY!!!
