We stumbled upon this park on accident but it had some beautiful views and the beach had a little bit of "snow". It was so cold and the wind made it feel even colder but we still made it down to the water for a moment. I bet it's even more enjoyable in the warmer months.

The first time we went there was almost empty from people. It was great. The weather was sunny and shiny. The next time it was packed:)
The restrooms are clean and big. The beach is clean and well taken care of.
There are multiple grilling areas. We did grill there and it was amazing experience.
The playground is spacious as well.
You have to pay for parking $8. But we bought a one year pass for $25

It's very clean and beautiful here. Parking costs $8/day, but if you plan to come more than once a year the season pass is the way to go. Bathrooms were clean and pleasant, and the beach itself is well kept. The swimming area is lovely 😍. It's a very nice place to hang out, with enough amenities nearby or on site to make a day of it.

I've been going to this beach since I was a young child and i have memories from throughout my life of being at this special place , with special people often for special occasions. Unlike Grand Haven state park this beach had a natural slope and the environment overall is much more natural looking and blends seamlessly into the towering dune behind it that you can walk to the top of and see am incredible view of 20 mi + in all directions. This is a great beach for kids and families in general. During the week it's often quite empty but get there early if you visit during a summer weekend. There are limited parking spots and they will fill up before 11 usually. Like all Lake Michigan beaches...it's the perfect place for sunsets.

Love love love lake Michigan. The pics speak for themselves! Clean, deep sand, huge shoreline. Light house, boats, so much to do!

Always super clean and well maintained. It's not a huge parking lot, so I recommend coming early on busy summer weekends. It's never swamped like Grand Haven State Park, so you can actually relax and enjoy the beach. Nice bathrooms--- nothing fancy but usually pretty clean.

Can't wait to visit again! The park equipment was new and the beach was absolutely beautiful. Perfect sand! There is a very large covered picnic area and the park is right next to the Ottawa Park trails.

Very nice in the summer season and still open in winter to take a walk if not too snowy. The temperature was around 43°F in my pictures today and little to no snow on the ground.

My current favorite public beach near Grand Rapids (for the last several years - I used to go to Muskegon to the dog beach or Hoffmaster) - I tend to go late afternoon/evening, not SO many people. It's north of the river, so not in the scrum of Grand Haven (but also no food nearby except for Ala Mode for ice cream - which isn't a hardship actually...!).

Great beach and now that the water is lower, the beach is enormous... (but that also means a longer walk to the water's edge. When the water was high it had been just a short drop off to the water, which was shocking compared to how it had been previously - but now it's a deeper beach than I have ever seen it)

The bathroom is convenient, with a shower to rinse feet and body outside.

This has always been one of my preferred beaches in the area. It's much less busy than the Grand Haven State Park, but not really so far away.

For younger children, there is a small playground near the parking lot. My son would go down the slides indefinitely if I let him!

The best part, in my opinion, is the connection to North Harbor Dunes. You can park down the road at Coast Guard Park and hike about a mile through dunes to get there. Near the end of the hike is a climb over a large dune with spectacular views.

This same trail system also goes all the way North to Hoffmaster, and is simply incredible.

Probably one of the best beach access parks in Ottawa County. Paying to park for a day is actually worth the cost. Very well kept facilities maintained by locals and the parks department.

Great beach!! Playground for the kids and a covered picnic spot. Plenty of parking right off the beach. There are stairs you can climb up to get to the top of the dunes for a spectacular view. Nice quiet spot to watch a sunset.

It's a REALLY nice beach, and if you go on a weekday, it's pretty sparsely populated (since the state beach is just down the road, most people go there). On the weekends, though, either get there early or plan on parking elsewhere and walking or carpooling in, as it's only about a 60 car parking lot. Parking is only $5 (for county residents) and the park itself is free.
A very nice trail with built-in steps runs up to the top of the dune and back down; then the trail continues through the dunes if you want a longer hike. This is one of the most under rated/unknown gems of the Lake Michigan Lakeshore.

Beautiful park with playground. Great views of the dunes and lake Michigan. Clean and well maintained. Hiking trails are amazing.

Our favorite beach! Quieter and cleaner than Grand Haven Beach.

This place is absolutely amazing! When my friends and I went, the beach wasn't very crowded, the sand was beautiful and the water was the perfect temperature! There is a bit of a hill to reach the water but it wasn't that bad to walk down. It's also paid parking but that was no bother to us :)
Will definitely be returning!
