Some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen were here on the beach. I put some pics below, but they don't quite do the true scenery justice.

The facilities are well kept and camp sites are nice, ideal for those with younger kiddos. It is a bit of a walk to the beach, but it's so worth it. If you enjoy hiking, there are some very nice trails here.

It's a wonderful place to go camping with friends and family (and watch sunsets!!)

This is one of my favorite State park in Michigan. It offers not only very fine grain sand beach with clear water, but also well maintained hiking trails connect wood and beaches. The view from the top of the hill into the lake is stunning and unique, which you will not get from anywhere else.

We had a beautiful, warm October day to visit one of my favorite places... a Lake Michigan beach! What a gorgeous day to see Lake Michigan and get our toes in the sand - and water! Love Hoffmaster State Park!

Very well maintained park and gorgeous views everywhere. Like many parks in Michigan, you have to pay admission, but considering those funds help maintain them it is well worth it. So many trails and things to do here, we barely scratched the surface and will be back!

Have gone on a few different hikes here, there is a lot variety for different levels of skill, how much time you want to spend, etc. may have just been timing with but the beach always seem more quiet and peaceful than other beaches. Stopped in the visitors center and the employee was super helpful and friendly giving tips on her favorite hike. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a day out in nature!

Beautiful area of lake Michigan, it has a swimming area marked off with bouys so you don't have to worry about boats coming right up to the shore. There's also a campsite close by with great access and good facilities.

This park is great. Big area to park with a sidewalk walking to the beach. There are restrooms there and some benches to sit on. A concrete ramp helps walking down super easy and the dunes are big and impressive. It makes for a fun visit to sunset. Plenty of room for all the swimmers and photo takers.

Go have an amazing day in beautiful, soft sand and perfect temp water. Bring your friends, bring your dogs (on a leash) and have fun. Go back later for the sunset or just stay all day.

This is a great park. Its a great hiking trail area especially with younger kids. Stairs are easy to get too. However not wheelchair accessible throughout the trails. Very wonderful view of the Lake Michigan and clean bathroom areas. We just love it here. Plus they have an informational booth and you can go inside and look at live animals and stuffed animals. Nice picnic areas. Overall a positive experience.

My Grand daughter and I enjoyed a beautiful day on the beach. Only a few people were on the beach when we were there. The water was cold but still great. We saw a large group of birds that were floating in the distance in a very long row which was so awesome to see on the lake, looked pretty neat. They enjoyed their beach trip as well.

Stayed there last weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely go again. We loved their dog policy we were able to take long walks on the beach with them as long as we kept clear of swimming area. Bathrooms were very well maintained

Visited this state park for camping in July 2021. The weather was great l. We were total of 4 members and we had great time l, spent 2 nights here. Surprisingly the bathrooms and restrooms were really clean, hot shower is available too. You can buy ice, firewood if needed. And on top of pf everything, each camp spot is hhhuuuggeeeee... so kids can play and run around. So I definitely recommend anyone who is visiting western Michigan to check out this camp site. 🏕

Easily one of our families favorite places to camp. Personal favorite because of it's "forest feel" and close (5 to 15 min walk depending on campsite) to Lake Michigan. Absolute stunning scenery and variety of trees! Very clean bathrooms. 👎No alcohol spring and summer.

Very beautiful! The scenery is breathtaking and the dunes are pretty tall! The sand is large-grained and absorb heat from the sun on a warm day more than fine sand would like in Florida. If it gets into the 90s, you'd better wear thongs (sandals, that is!) as the sand seemed immensely hot and was hard to go barefoot up the dunes. Lake Michigan is so large there, and with the height of the dunes, it's pert near like bring in California! You would think that you are at the ocean as you cannot see across the enormous body of water. One lake Michigan may be 58 degrees and a few days later almost 80 (in the late summer months) as the currents churn the waters so temperatures are ever changing. Spectacular sights to behold there. If you are in the vicinity, my suggestion would be to go see the mesmerizingly beauty of this region. You will NOT be disappointed!
