Off The Record

Off the record is in the spot. Incredible selection with enthusiastic yet laid back staff. My first visit made taking the drive from the Grand Rapids area worth every minute. Looking forward to the next!

Records are in the typical genre alphabetical order, with new releases and recent purchases right up front. Lots of 45s and CDs too. And should you not find “that one record” (or three) they are more than happy to get it in the way for you.

This place is just one of those special places on this planet. Friendly people who care about the community they are in and seems to truly be here to spread joy. If you love music you have to stop in here.

John helped us figure out our old record player and bring it back to life. He was so generous with his time and knowledge and really kind for guiding us. On top of that there was a great selection of records (old and new). Don't miss out on his merch either 🤌 thanks again, can't wait to come back!

While on vacation, I double backed to this shop because i first stopped through and it was closed. I looked inside and just knew it'd be a nice shop to stop at so made sure on my way back home to stop. I'm glad I did because of all the other record shops, antique malls, road side shops we stopped along the way, this one was the best.
Great shop, solid prices and a really nice selection of oddball, weird, obscure stuff you sent see everyday. I wish they had a listening station because of those obscure titles but the owner obliged letting me hear a few things of interest on the house system. I ended up buying some 90s trip hop, downtempo type of titles. Good stuff!
Expect to spend at least 1+ hour here if you are new to the shop. Recommended... 👍

Stopped in today and was very pleased with my purchase. Prices were good and selection was excellent. Very friendly staff.

I came in with a record player I had inherited that good not been used in a long time. Within a few minutes it was back up and running and sounding great for a very fair price. So cool to have a piece of family history putting out great music again!

Looking to get into the joy of listening to music on vinyl? I can't think of a higher recommendation then Off the Record!! John was amazinginly helpful with the purchase of my first new turntable. Definitely knew his stuff on the equipment and selection of inventory that he had (which in itself was pretty amazing)!! Even suffered through my novice questions when I called him 3 times after the purchase (all which turned out to be operator error). Cares about his customers and gives top notch service. Excellent small-town record store with a great selection of new & used vinyl (and CDs). The owner is one of the nicest folks you'll meet and works hard to provide friendly service. OTR is able to get just about any album you're after as long as it's still available, and the prices are extremely fair. Highly recommended!

Had almost everything I was looking for. They went above and beyond to help me find the records I wanted. I made a fairly large purchase and they boxed everything carefully and were very nice. Their selection is one of the best I've found for Rock and metal. I'll be returning, frequently.

Large selection of CDs and records. I found enough to work on planning a second trip to pick up some more. Guy was nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

Great location for new and pre-owned vinyl. Prices seem to be better here than at the other record stores that I have visited. Staff is knowledgeable and can order something for you if they don't happen to have it. Huge selection of CD's as well!
