Duncan Woods is a great park in the heart of Grand Haven, offering 40 acres of old growth woods, hiking trails, sledding, Geocaching, and the chance to walk through the deer habitat after they walk through your backyard and eat your garden. I have many fond memories of Boy Scout events here and encourage you to bring your family and make memories of your own here. God bless and enjoy the land that Margaret Duncan left to the City of Grand Haven as a memorial to her beloved husband.

Neat location near downtown Grand Haven wedged between an old cemetery, a upscale residential neighborhood and the lakeshore. Beautiful mature trees including Beech, white pines, and red oaks. Nice parking and access to other nearby trails by hiking extensions. Great asset to the city.

Absolutely dreamy. When you walk into Duncan Woods the world stops and you’re in a different land until you have to leave and return to reality. Every time I make it back to GH I spend some time here. It’s been a sanctuary for me for decades.

This place is great, right in the city yet while you are in the woods you feel like your miles away!

Amazing trails. We went this morning. It was about 80° but it was so shaded it was amazing in the trails. And a huge plus, it wasn't swarming with bugs. We didn't see it at first, but then realized it was a trail park so that was really an exciting this to stumble upon. You also are right downtown so its a quick walk down to go eat when your done.

Very beautiful park nestled in the west side of Grand Haven. Great colors in the fall. The walking path connects with the cemetery on the west end, which is also a great place to walk. Nice place to forget about the hectic pace of life and reconnect with nature.

This park makes you feel like you're in the woods when you're really right in the heart of Grand Haven. There is a paved trail through the center of the park and many other natural trails throughout. We also found some unexpected wildlife watching us from the trees above :)

There is one handicap accessible porta potty in the parking lot. Dog-friendly trails, but they must be leashed.

Go explore!

Calm, serene and shady spot to relax or meet up with friends. Love watching the deer and birds. Also not too busy. Great picnic spot.

Stopped here for a little hike before hitting the beach and it was awesome. Nice little area to get in a mile or so before a long Beach day.

Enjoyed a lovely Spring warm sunny day walking this peaceful place. It’s clean and so nice that litter isn’t covering the grounds. Even with me walking my two Service Dogs, we’d seen a few others walking their furry friends. Lots of squirrels playing in the woods and very little snow left on the ground. A few bicyclists passed us by, but it was truly beautiful to escape into a different park! My only regret was not having my camera ready. As they say though, some of your best memories can’t be captured by a picture!

Wonderful walk on a paved closed off roadway. Would be great for a wheelchair. Wooded walking trails throughout the park. Lots of roots and bumpy area's. Kids should be cautioned not to run on the paths. Great place for a picnic but no grills, pavilion or restrooms available.

Nice natural area in the middle of Grand Haven. The main part of the park has a paved road that winds through the woods. This road is for bikes and walkers only - no motorized vehicles. There is another part of the park (across Lake Ave) that is an "off leash" area for dogs. Its really beautiful. Can walk through to Mulligan's Hallow park.

This is a nice woodsy park. It has a fair size parking lot and a few picnic benches. There was not a playground as far as I saw. This park is definitely more about exploring the woods and getting some good exercise hiking up and down the many trails.

I would have never found this place without #VisitGHEggHunt. My kids and I had a blast trekking up and down the hilly trails through the woods. We were appreciating all the cool shapes trees come in and searching the many nooks and crannies some can have. And we watched birds flitting in and out of tree branches along our paths. There's a good size field area too that is kind of bowl shaped which we thought was pretty neat.

I also saw a video someone posted from there from just this weekend that had a small herd of deer scattered amongst the trees. So there is a good possibility of seeing more wildlife on a less busy day than when we went.
