Facts… there is a small cost to get in you can get a year pass for like 15.00 so maybe 5 for a day

The dogs share the beach with the humans. Dogs are welcome 7-10 am and 6-10 pm No exceptions
Rules are that dogs must be leashed until on the beach and you must clean up after your dog.

Kirk Park is one of our favorite local hangs, especially in the off-season. Even if it’s windy or cold, the viewpoint is only a short walk from the parking lot. And of course, there’s the incredible Lake Michigan sunsets! 🌅

I love this park alot! There are stairs to take you to unique look outs and the beach is dog friendly.

What a great place to let your dogs run and have fun off leash. Small trail with lots of steps. Nice overlook with benches up the stairs and on the trail. Nice big parking lot. Was only a small walk to the beach area. Has bathrooms and vending machines.

Went between the hours of 6 pm and 8:30 pm. We took our little shorkie, and she seemed to enjoy herself. It was fun to watch all the other dogs running along the beach and jumping in the water. It was a nice and clean beach. Folks were pretty good about picking up after their dogs.

Our 4 legged kids Kona and Chester really enjoyed the off leash time after 6 pm! The high sand hills made for a perfect barrier so the kiddos couldn't wander off too far.

Beautiful location. Walking paths....lots of steps! Dog friendly off leash at certain times of the day. Nice picnic area and lodge as well as bathrooms, vending machine and outside shower for rinsing off sand. Sandy Beach great for building sand castles. Beautiful sunsets.

First time at this county park. Less busy than the local state parks and fewer steps to climb than at other local parks.

Dogs are free off leash at 6 p.m. Not a problem for us at all, and other than their presence, no other evidence the dogs are out on this beach.

Great place for a walk, picnic or beach day. Wooded trails. They have a cement cornhole court.

Very clean, well-maintained County park on the shores of Lake Michigan. This is a picturesque setting, including mature trees covering the sane dunes. Beautiful folliage. $8 for the day to park, plentiful parking available. I would absolutely recommend spending time at this beach.

Nice park- good view of the lake. Great paths along it and in it. Erosion has led to many parts being closed off. But beautiful area. Gotta go and see. And bring your bike for the path out front that's right next to the busy road there. Great views, especially during fall!

We always liked going to the Kirk Park Dog Beach. However, since the stair collapsed due to high water levels, they haven't reopened. The regular beach is open to dogs before 10a and after 5p, I believe. Both areas are clean and easy to access.

If you love dogs, or you have a dog that loves beaches, and sunset walks off the leash, then the dog friendly beach 🏖 is a must for you and your canine companion. We only visited the dog beach, but I have been to other parts, and there are some good hiking trails.

Nice beach area, has trails & an overlook. It's also a dog park for the early & late hours. They do charge 8.00 for a day pass to this county park, the pass can be used at multiple parks in Ottawa County. (The state park sticker on the license plate, isn't good here). It was fairly busy for a Wednesday in August. But It was also hot & humid. There is a modern restroom & vending machines. Plenty of parking & picnic tables.

2023 update, the beach is back. Great family park on Lake Michigan. Normally there is a lot of beach to play on but this year due to the high water levels the beach is all but gone. This summer (2020) the awesome trails up the dunes are closed to help stop erosion. There are also picnic tables around the parking area and many of them are in the shade.

My favorite Lake Michigan park. It is an Ottawa county park. There is a daily or seasonal fee, now paid through a couple machines that are available.

Great park! A hidden gem in between Grand Haven and Holland. There's a sizable parking lot, walking/hiking trails and a beautiful beach. Dogs are allowed as well during certain times. (Posted on site) There are bathrooms, a picnic area, places to change and even an outdoor shower to wash the sand from your body/feet. An Ottawa county parks sticker is required to get in or you can buy a day pass. It is free to get in outside of the busy summer months. (Posted on site.) Well worth the visit!!

I really enjoy this park. There are a few different trail options and you can stay in the woods or walk to/along the beach. The picnic area is nice and the bathrooms are convenient. There is also a building you can rent.
This is a park which allows dogs. Leashed on the trail and a small portion of the beach is off leash.

My favorite little park! Stairs to explore the top of the dunes, dog beach, trails everywhere to explore and lots of parking. There is also a sidewalk that you can walk right up to the beach.
