K Younan, M.D.

Dr. Shaddy K. Younan is fantastic! (hence my high rating, because these ratings should really be a reflection of the actual physician, not a sub-standard office).

Dr. Shaddy is extremely knowledgeable, keeps up to date on new treatment modalities and medication, and has an outstanding bedside manner (he really takes the time to listen to his patients, is extremely kind and concerned about patients well-being, and always has a warm smile available to calm concerned patients). I would give him a rating of 10 if I could.

His office, however, is one of the worst-run and rudest doctor's offices I have come across. E.g., if you ask them to obtain insurance pre-authorization, they (according to my own experience) frequently seem to ask the patient to obtain all the information (incl. lab and treatment codes), even though most insurance companies don't give out such information to patients--only to doctor's offices. For that reason, I am way overdue for certain lab tests that would likely lead to a newer very high-priced medication that they also would have to obtain pre-authorization for. I'm only still there because Dr. Shaddy is fantastic.

The wait time is another beast. There have been times when I had to wait for three hours, and only got in after three hours because I kept asking if they had forgotten about me. And more than once, after waiting for two hours, the doctor has been called for an emergency (not his fault), and I had to reschedule for another 2-3 hour wait appointment. At a minimum, they should offer free wifi services for patients, so that those who can work remotely can bring a laptop and work while waiting (I have been able to do so via a hotspot, which has made the wait at least bearable). The wait would also be a bit easier if they had A/C in the waiting room (the waiting room gets extremely hot and stuffy in the summer).

It's sad that such an in-every-way-outstanding physician has his ratings so severely reduced by a seemingly dismal office staff. If it weren't for them, Dr. Younan would probably receive mostly 5-star reviews. It's the office staff alone that drags down his ratings. I don't see it changing either, as, apparently, his mother is the office manager, and he would probably be hard-pressed to let his own mother go (I'm not blaming her per se, but she *is* the office manager, which means that the ultimate patient-office experience responsibility falls on her).

Dr.Shaddy is the best I do not rate a Dr based on office staff .

Great cardiologist and the staff is friendly and helpful. 💕

Don’t bother making an appointment. You will wait a very long time to be seen.

Today was my third visit to this office. The first visit I waited over 2 hours for my initial consultation. Second visit I waited 3 hours before being seen for my stress today. Today, I walked in at 12:45 for a 1pm visit. I immediately noticed the crowd was tense. The people waiting had been waiting since 10:15 and had yet to be seen. Unacceptable. I let the front desk know, rescheduled, and walked out. I’ve never seen anything so disorganized in my life.

Terrible office personnel!! Have no idea what they are doing. Worst experience at a dr office I have ever had. Never saw such stupidity. Don’t even know how to use a fax machine there. The nurse was equally stupid!! Where do they get these people! Very unprofessional!!
Had to return to this office to get my medical clearance for surgery because I was unable to get it two days ago. I had to drive all way to Edison to pick up my paperwork because for some reason their office can’t get faxes really? Anyway, today I was there for three hours. I asked the doctor to please give me my paperwork so that I could get it to my office Where I’m having surgery and he refused to fill it out today. He said he’s too busy and he’ll do it on Monday. I then said you literally just have to check off a box and sign your name. It takes two seconds. You’re right here and I’m right here can’t you just do it now no he got very nasty with me and said he’s not doing it till Monday I should’ve waited so long. I didn’t wait long. I was already here but your office wasn’t able to receive any of the faxes from my back doctors office, so that is not my fault. That is the fault of the stupid people that you have working in your office here. Anyway, while chatting with people in the waiting room, they all had the same experience there waiting waiting terrible service. Ridiculous. I now have to go back there on Monday and I have to hold somebody’s hand to make sure they fax my information over to the surgical center. This place is the most ridiculous doctors office I have ever been to an after this, I will never return, and I suggest all of you run away from this place fast because they suck.

I should have read the reviews before scheduling with this group! Some of the complaints actually were from the day i was scheduled in the waiting room! I was scheduled on feb 9th for 2pm and didnt get seen until 4:30 the office closes at 5! It was a rush job but i was fine with as i was only there for clearance! In the end the doctor approved clearance and promised me he will send it over to my doctor requesting the clearance that day! Well its March 4th my doctor is STILL waiting on the clearance! I went to the office and waited an hour for them to give it to me (in the end i they still havent given it to me) in that time the receptionist forgot about me and went on her break and when others got involved there is no clearance for them to print out!!! Im currently on hold with the office as we speak on the phone bc i am calling for the 3rd time to check the status of my clearance since i need this for TOMORROW! A whole month! So irresponsible! Mind u i did not wait for the last minute my doctor has been calling them every week various times and they tell her the same thing every time she calls,“we are looking into it and we will fax it right over” then nothing! What is going on over there!! Im perfectly healthy JUST DO YOUR JOB!!!! Now the reason for my clearance is being delay 2 months bc of this group! There was a separate issue that caused it to be delayed 1 month at first regarding the doctor that i was originally seeing had an emergency and had to reschedule my appt throwing my schedule off but i let it go bc somethings are just out of our control but this is just ridiculous all for a piece of paper with the doctors signature stating im clear to go forward they cant even do that!!! CRAZY!

Would give zero stars if I could. They were EXTREMELY rude and dismissive of anything I was trying to say and ended up in the ER shortly after visiting the Holmdel office.. DO NOT waste your time with these scammers. All they care about is billing your insurance and getting rid of you as fast as possible.. I swear on my children's eyesight, I'm telling the truth 🖕🏿

I’ve been coming here for a few years and as decent as the doctors are, this office is TERRIBLY MANAGED and Operated. DO NOT schedule back to back appointments if their is only 1 doctor in for the day. This has been going on for YEARS at this practice (both locations) and I’m surprised people still want to waste their time with this team. If my appointment is at a certain time, office management (which their was easily 4/5 women behind the window) should respect others time and have a grace period of appointments so that we’re not waiting hours to see the doctor well past our appointment times. Times is money, and I don’t have much to give to an office or doctors that don’t see the problem in their office. Great medicine can be found in a lot of places, especially when their is a mutual respect of time. Don’t waste your time or money on this establishment. After 7 years of this, I’m moving on.

BEWARE!!!! If I could give zero stars I would! I don’t even know where to begin because there are not enough words to justify the mess of this establishment. If only you were a fly on the wall! Just know the emotional distress, the tax fraud and wage fraud, the alienation of certain employees, the harassment, and the non compliance and you can only imagine what else! ALL BECAUSE OF THE MOTHER WHO CANNOT STEP DOWN! Power power power that is all. The Younan doctors Zyad and Shaddy are great but the treatment to staff and patients by the mother who wants to be involved in everything sadly is going to be the death of that company. Be well aware if you are looking to come here as a new patient as you will be victimized by her unfortunately. If you are lucky enough to avoid her the doctors are good.

I'm 76 year old recently visited this office waited for over 2 hours and had to leave being frustrated, terrible management I won't refer this office to anyone.

i wont recommend anyone to visit this clinic, 2-3 hours of waiting period, very poorly managed, and the manager is not professional at all.

If I Could give 0 stars I Would. I ended up here twice for a stress test. Both times i had arrived over 15 minutes early. 1 Hour later not only was I not seen yet, BUT the doctor wasn't even in yet. Not sure how you run a practice with a doctor who willingly lets the Patients wait endlessly.

Never saw an office run so poorly. I have had three appointments,(check-up, diagnostic tests, follow-up). Each time they were at least an hour behind. The check-up I waited two hours. The testing they double booked each time slot and I was over an hour late with the first appointment time. The follow up they took me in a half hour late when the doctor wasn’t even near the building. The doctor came in an hour after my appointment time. Made sure to collect my copay early though. This was my last visit to this poorly run facility. No idea how to run or keep a schedule. I feel bad for the receptionists who have to feel the brunt of the patients venting while the doctors take home the money.

HORRIBLE! I recently worked here and the owner is UNPROFESSIONAL. They are rude to patience and the owner is rude to her employees. She is also refusing to give a letter stating I do not work there anymore. For what reason not sure. Do not come here as a patient and do not apply for a job.
