Swift's Landing

This is one of my favorite spots to start a run or walk along the Erie Canal trail. You can go either direction on the trail continuously, without any road crossings. The trail does stop, however, once you reach the Newark area, if you are running eastbound. At that point you have to run along the road on the "Empire Trail" until the real trail picks up again near Lyons. I wish they would connect the Newark and Lyons trails somehow but that may be a pipe dream. Running or walking westbound the trail continues for miles, past Palmyra and into Macedon. Easy parking and a short walk to the trail access. Also picnic areas and fishing.

I have been coming here since i was a kid to hike and fish!

Nice rural park with access to the canal, the creek and the canal trail. A great place to put in small boats, fish, or have a cookout or pick neck. It's rarely busy but the shelters are reservable. There are toilets on site. Bring big spray.

This was a nice clean park.Though for fishing along the creek,it had a steep drop to the water.

Nice place to launch our kayaks. Could use a lil dock and steps
