Badlands Saloon & Grille

This place was jammin' when we arrived, somehow we scored a pair of seats at the bar though. Tried my very first ever "Red Beer" here. Never even heard of this concoction until we arrived here and saw them making this drink for a couple of other people, and said "When in Rome" it wasn't bad, but definitely an acquired taste I think. The food was excellent, though there was a little bit of a wait for it due to the sheer amount of people here that night. Cheese curds were fantastic, the bison burger, cooked to perfection. Will definitely stop here again when we are back!

To be honest, I've always enjoyed the food at this restaurant. Every time we swing by Wall, it's a muststop, and this is the first time I've felt compelled to leave them a review because there's been a noticeable improvement in their service. Honestly, our only gripe about the restaurant used to be the poor service, but the last time we swung by, we were in for a pleasant surprise. It was delightful being served by the lovely lady from Ecuador, and the food, I mean, top-notch Some of the best burgers in the area, and the pizza is good too Keep it up!

This place is great! The food was good and the waitresses were very helpful and attentive. The steak tips were the table favorite. If you’re in the area any time of the year, make this a stop. It won’t disappoint.

We ate here tonight and had a really nice meal. The place was unexpectedly packed for the time of year (staff told us this too), so it took a while to get our food, but the employees were so lovely and kind. We enjoyed our food, especially the chislic - a SD special! Really nice atmosphere - Thank you for a lovely evening!

We had lunch here and it was amazing ! The entire staff was very friendly and our waitress made great suggestions for us to try since it was our first time there. The food was hot and delicious and the drinks were made perfectly! The entire experience of the Wall Drug area along with this great restaurant makes the experience even better ! Will definitely return !

Was so good. We had to back for more! The food was great, and the servers were awesome. Our food was brought to us hot and really quick. We will definitely stop back there to eat on our next trip out there.

The food here was amazing! The Chislic was just how I like it: charred on the outside and medium/medium-rare on the inside. The peanut sauce on the side was an interesting and delicious choice.

Also ordered the hot beef sandwich and the mashed potatoes were super buttery.

Atmosphere very warm and cozy - although the booths were not comfortable for someone with back issues.

Service quite quick - not overly friendly.

We stopped at Badlands Saloon & Grille because they had salads on the menu. I ordered the prairie salad. Not only was it LARGE, it was excellent. It was even better than it sounded on the menu. I ordered a slab to stick to my diet, but after the first few bites, I was enjoying it like it had been ordered only out of joy.

Welcome to the Dakotas, where your main restaurants are also bars. It is important that everyone realizes this reality.

My wife and I went in March 2024 and I didn’t know what to expect. My expectations were blown away. I almost cried at how good the steak was that I ate at Badlands Saloon. Seriously one of the best steaks I have had in a while.

I received a salad with my steak, which my wife and I shared. My wife is a pescatarian, which made it 50/50 on rather she was going to be able to eat….vegetarians will find it difficult in the Dakotas. She ordered, and enjoyed, the Fish n Chips. I am very grateful this was an option.

The service was wonderful, friendly, and fast. The restaurant was clean and inviting. For me the rating on google did not reflect our experience. This visit with that steak, and their service, is definitely a 5.0. Lord willing, we will make it back to Wall one summer day. If that day comes, I will be eating at Badlands Saloon & Grille again.

We ate breakfast here as we received vouchers for free breakfast from our stay at the Travelodge by Wyndham in Wall, SD the previous night. Our voucher allowed us our choice of free pancakes or french toast, which were amazing. Anything else ordered, you do need to pay for. The Badlands Saloon also offers crazy fast free wifi; I uploaded close to 2000 photos to my Shutterfly account in the span of 45 minutes.
Food and service were both good. Server was attentive. Table was clean. We were greeted and seated quickly.
I would definitely go back there for a meal.

Greetings from Ohio! We were traveling through this week & we're not sure why this place got 3.8 stars, but it was ABSOLUTELY amazing! Our bartender was awesome and the steak tips with Mac and cheese were to die for! Definitely check this place out!

We had two great meals (Cowboy slop and country fried steak) here. Our server (Kasey) was fantastic and got our drinks and food to us fast on a very busy night. Very clean and comfortable place. Second time her and service at the bar was fantastic.

We got complementary breakfast here from our hotel (American Best Value Inn), pancakes were amazing, soft and big, French toast was pretty good and we ordered the bacon egg & cheese sandwich which was really good.

One of our favorite restaurants on our road trip! We unintentionally ate here twice, our hotel gave us a breakfast coupon. For dinner my boyfriend got the chicken bacon ranch wrap and I had a Buffalo burger. For breakfast, we got pancakes, French toast, eggs and bacon. Overall, wonderful food and a great dinning experience. Highly recommend!

We came through on the night that the employees were having a Christmas party. Our server warned us upon arrival. She stated that they would be closing early due to a Christmas party. She also stated that her cooks were lightening fast and we were welcome to order anything from the menu. She was correct, the cooks work fast and she was able to serve our food and drinks very quickly. Recommend to anyone stopping by.

We've eaten here quite a few times. Honestly, they have one of the best French Dips I've ever eaten...and I eat a lot. The fries were good, and the service was prompt. The decor tries to look rustic and is a bit forced, but this is a great restaurant. Check it out after visiting Wall Drug.

Believe it or not, there is something better than bacon on a burger! Try the Pastrami Burger - phenomenal! Great place to eat. Wonderful staff, excellent food, enjoyable atmosphere.

we reached Wall (its city name in SD) just in nick of time to visit the wall drug store. when the wall drug store closes, it's all silence, not a single person to see. and just in front of the famous wall drug store, there it is- Badlands saloon & grill. and despite the 900 population town sleeps by 6 or 7, and this bar is open till 11 PM.

It was 4-July evening, (the firework program was canceled due to weather issues) so there was not much to do so we decided to spend some time here. it was not crowded (and why it would be either badlands national park or wall drug store, otherwise Wall is just another sleepy town nearby an interstate highway.

We settled. The server came, he was jolly and he informed us about their local beers which we tried and it was good. we also ordered

Grilled chicken salad-
cowboy Slop- Mashed potatoes with chicken
Bison Burger- so patty was less juicy than beef and a little bit dry - still wanted to try-not bad

the ambiance was pretty cool and we had a good time. Drinking good beer/margarita, good food and music. 4th July well spent..!!

Inaccurate rating at 3.8. we had a party of 7 for dinner on a Sunday night. It wasn't too busy. All meals were delicious and the service was super fast. The country fried steak dinners were HUGE. Our waitress was great. The restaurant was large, new and clean. Great restroom as well. Certainly 5 stars as it exceeded all of our expectations.

My husband got the chicken fried steak and it was sooooo huuuuge, the gravy was perfectly peppered. We ordered through toast like thier website says and it was hot and ready in 25 minutes. 10 out of 10 recommend.
