Best meat place in town. I think the service could use a little training in consistency. We had Mac and cheese come out room temperature/cold before but our latest experience everything was good and hot. I like the catfish, burnt ends, and rib tips the best. The best side is the jalapeno Mac and cheese in my opinion but I love Mac and cheese. They have a new steak night but I didn't want to order this as the kitchen was about an hour behind on steaks.

This may be the best BBQ I have ever had. I had the brisket and the pieces were a perfect blend of sauce and chewy texture. The jalapeno mac and cheese was immaculate and I loved the noodles that optimized sauce coverage for maximum flavour. The cornbread muffin and accompanying butter is straight up one of the best things I have ever eaten. Also, the portions here are large, and the food is very filling, so prepare for leftovers if you're getting a standard portion with the two sides.

Our waitress was quite friendly and service was faster than I expected, so I really have no complaints about the experience. I wish I lived closer so I could go again, but I'll do the next best thing and recommend it to anyone who's considering going. It's well worth your time and you will get an authentic American experience. Money well spent!

I'm from Texas, and this place felt like I was back in Fort Worth, including the food and dance floor. I had the burnt ends... could have been a little more burnt for my taste but they tasted good! The corn bread muffin was a nice surprise, and the jalapeños in the Mac and cheese was right up my ally.
We'll look for Uncle Bo's again next time we're in o-h-i-o!

This is a hidden gem. I got the ribs and pulled pork with fries and Cole slaw. The meat was tender and juicy and the sides were delicious. My husband got the 20 Oz porterhouse with Mac and cheese and baked beans. The cut of steak was humongous and it took 3 days for my husband to finish it. I also had enough leftover for 1 day. The meat warmed up in the oven extremely well. Finally the corn bread muffin with honey butter was out of this world good. Our server was very helpful and friendly. It definitely worth the wait for your food.

I come here as often as I can, best BBQ this side of the Rio Grande! Good bbq isn’t cheap and cheap bbq isn’t good… they really live up to the low and slow style of smoking here which preserves the natural juiciness of the meats. I have been coming for years before I finally tried the ground brisket/bacon blend burger topped with more brisket and brisket chili… pure heaven. Top 5 burger I’ve ever had the privilege to indulge in. Check the specials and try everything on the menu, not a bad bite to be found.

We’re in town for a family event and some of us decided to try out this restaurant based on other reviews. I can tell you it didn’t disappoint. Everyone ordered something different and all were very happy with the portions, taste, and price. The pulled pork, brisket, burnt ends, ribs, chili, Mac and cheese, and fresh cut fries were all delicious! We will return next time we’re in town.

This was our second time there for steak. We both had ribeye steaks They were awesome again. I would this place against any steak house in northeast Ohio. How lucky are we to have this in Lorain county. Our waitress was very good also. Great place to eat. Prices are very good also. Very reasonable priced. You need to go there.

Oh My Gawd Becky, look at this rack, it's so big! 🔥 I have eaten at over 50 BBQ places in my life; the rated best-of-best places like Cozy Corner in Memphis and Grady's in Carolina; chains like Dickey's and Famous Dave's; places good and bad you've never heard of... and Uncle Bo's is right there with the best of them. I couldn't possibly recommend this place more. We ended up here by accident, caught in some lake effect snow and stopped for the night, Bo's was right next door, so why not. It's an old Lonestar, next to a virtually vacant Mall, in a part of Elyria that won't be confused with the Flats. Expectations were low.. pulling into the empty parking lot at 8pm on a Friday night didn't do much to raise hopes. But the moment the first whiff of BBQ hit our noses and for the next 70 minutes everything was perfecto. The greeter was friendly, the decor was amazing, the menu was traditional yet unique, it had everything you'd expect and some treats you wouldn't but will love. They had a catfish special (lent in Elyria is a big thing I'd learn). They had a super selection of beer and wine and a whole list of alcohol concoctions.. we went for Ozark Lemonaid and Carolina Blueshine and it was fabulous. We got a half rack of ribs, baked potato, Jalapeño Mac & Cheese, Cajun Jambalaya rice and a platter of Beef Brisket. Freaking awesome. We asked if they might have any extra Jalapeño and got a whole fresh Jalapeño, plus Uncle Bo himself brought out some ghost pepper BBQ 🌶 for us to try. He was a pleasure to talk to. Our server was a joy. A few more people got tables, but this place should have had a 2 hour wait. It'd be worth it. Next door was a full parking lot at Applebees.. seriously.. idiots, everyone of them, they don't know what they are missing. If you made it this far, you probably ly think this is a paid advertisement. I assure you it's not. I'm just a verbose guy who likes to do reviews and I'll tell you exactly like it is, good ir bad. This is one of my new all-time favorites.. try it, you'll agree.

Arrived shortly after opening and was seated immediately. Our server, whose name escapes me, was a trainee, and had her trainer not been there, I never would have known. She knew her stuff. They were both extremely friendly and very helpful. We had the smoked brisket and a pulled pork sandwich. Personally, I like a little more heat in the sauce, but it was good besides that. They were both excellent. The garlic-parm fries were very tasty. The jalapeño mac and cheese was interesting as well. We split an apple 🍎 cobbler Ala mode with Carmel sauce. It completed the meal perfectly. The employees are very excited about working there and are enthusiastic.
Will have to come when there is entertainment.
Highly recommended 👌.

Overwhelming menu options, ended up going with a wood fired ribeye and was very happy with my decision. Highly recommend.

Prompt takeout service and making sure everything was correct. And very good food as well. Pulled pork, sausage and fresh fries were delicious and good portions. Picture was taken when I was getting full

My husband and I went on Sunday 1/7/24. We ordered the 24 oz-26 oz ribeye it comes with 2 sides and a dinner roll. It was enough for both of us to eat and had even some to bring home. You won't get a better tasting or more premium quality for the price. I used to go to Texas Roadhouse for steaks but the quality and size was nothing compared to what I had at Uncle Bo's Slow-n-Low BBQ. The price is way less at Uncle Bo's as well.

I don't normally order BBQ at restaurants outside of Texas or Memphis because I have found that I almost always can make it better at home -- and sometimes it's not even close. I decided to buck that trend and go with my gut and trust that Uncle Bo knows what he's doing, and by golly does he! The brisket was moist and flavorful with a nice bark and proper smoke ring. It was, dare I say, teetering on the edge of being the slightest bit overdone, but just like ribs, some people like it that way, and I won't argue. You could definitely cut the brisket with a spoon, but the flavor is so good that you can overlook it if you like a little more pull.

The menu was still a la carte when I visited. The bacon jalapeno mac & cheese is amazing. Personally, I like more heat and would kick it up a notch for my own enjoyment, but it's good to keep it more mild for kids and less adventurous eaters. The collards are definitely authentic; straight from a Southern kitchen.

My only complaint was the corn muffin, which was served cold. Not room temperature, but like straight-from-the-fridge cold. The muffin itself is very dense and quite dry, which left me thankful to have a cup of melted butter into which I could dip forkfuls of the muffin. I reckon if it was served warm, that dryness & crumbliness would not be as present since any fat inside the muffin would not be solidified. Still, the flavor is quite nice and it's almost like a dessert at the end of your meal.

The bar featured several local beers on tap in addition to the typical macro-beers, and I worked my way through each of them in order. Missing from the bar was a more diverse selection of bourbon, especially any top-shelf stuff. I really only noticed maybe 2 bottles of bourbon total (Knob Creek & Woodford) to supplement the Jack & Jim. I would have expected more true bourbon in a BBQ joint, but maybe it doesn't sell well with the clientele local to Bo's.

Hopefully a rejuvenation of the Midway Mall will bring more traffic to this gem of Northern Ohio BBQ that it definitely deserves.

Our first time here. We were greeted immediately by smiling faces and seated promptly. The waitress handed out the menus, asked if it was our first-time there and explained the process and how everything is made from scratch. My wife ordered the boneless ribeye, I ordered the brisket and daughter ordered the rib sandwich. We were informed that the food takes time because it's prepared fresh. We didn't really wait as long as we anticipated but the wait was worth it. My wifes steak was prepared perfectly and was absolutely delicious. The brisket is melt in your mouth awesomeness, the collard greens are the best I've ever had, the home made baked beans were to die for, the jalapeño mac N cheese and the corn muffins were off the hook. My hats off to the chef. This is a place we will definitely visit again soon. If you like true authentic low and slow smoked meats and Brazilian woodfired steaks, than this is your place. I highly recommend it.

Stopped by today for the first time and I'm genuinely kicking myself for waiting so long. The brisket is the best I've had in years. Great bark, uniform smoke ring, nicely seasoned and just melts in your mouth. It's great without any sauce, but dipped in the homemade barbecue sauce and it's a whole new experience.

Jalapeno and bacon Mac and cheese has great jalapeno flavor without too much heat, but if you want heat go with that jambalaya. It's been 20 years since I've been in Louisiana and one bite of it took me right back; bay leaves and all it's genuine. The cornbread muffins are big and filling so be careful. The people were so friendly and welcoming and the manager Kelly running the bar was delightful to talk to.

Go here folks, you will not be disappointed and it supports a great local businesses

The best BBQ Ribs around. My husband & I both agree it's probably a good thing we live a distance or we would be eating here all the time. Whenever we come it's a special treat. We both had the 1/2 slab of ribs (7 bones) and it was more than enough food. Plus you get 2 sides. The meat is always tender and juicy. The Jumbylia Rice is excellent (a little spicy). My husband had the loaded baked potato and that thing was HUGE. The other sides we had were cole slaw and green beans. Our Waitress was on top of everything and so sweet. Her name was Jaime S.
I'm so stuffed I barely made it back home before taking a nap.
Already counting the time to our next visit.

Ate here tonight. Got the boneless woodfire cooked ribeye steak. Omg it was huge and the best steak I have eaten. Worth every penny we paid. All Bo's food is excellent. We try to go every week.

I'm not kidding, this place is amazing. The best BBQ I have had in a really long time. Got the Brisket 4 ways platter and they were all perfect! Wife got the smoked chicken dinner and that was great as well. Pulled pork sandwich was a hit as well. The sides were all very good. Can't wait to go back!!!
