Karen's Bakery

One of my favorite bakeries in the world; if it's Karen's, it's incredible! We recommend everything on the expansive menu. Lots of vegetarian options as well. Every single pastry, pie, cake, baked good is exquisitely prepared and tastes amazing! It's fun to try the various house-made versions of your favorite childhood treats, especially the HoHos! Not to be missed!

We discovered Karen's Bakery and Cafe two days ago, Wow! Their bakery goods are so good they should be illegal! Their breakfast items are made with the same attention to detail, with recipes and ingredients that left us wanting more. We had our second breakfast there today.

This is a wonderful spot to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch or just dessert.
The service was kind. The baked goods are delicious and the atmosphere is welcoming and quaint.
The portions on our breakfast were large and the food was not only delicious, but the presentation was a feast for the eyes.
The outdoor patio offers a quieter, more intimate atmosphere than the bustle of the indoor cafe.
This was a wonderful find, just off of Sutter Street.

The food was delicious! Staff was friendly and polite! I had the Cuban and it was very tasty. The bread was toasted very well. Not under toasted and not over toasted. Had a really good sauce and the ham, pickles and carnitas ingredients were very tasty! I also had a snickerdoodle cookie, one of my favorites. The cookie was delicious. Soft and lots of flavor. I definitely recommend this place. Great for breakfast and lunch!

This place is great. Can be busy, but excellent pastries, pie and coffee. A great lunch after a walk or ride on the nearby trail. Very casual layout, friendly service. Will be back when nearby.

I love this place for the food.

The staff try, and they are nice, but waits are usually long for food, and things are frequently forgotten.

I've been here around 10 times, and the experience is always the same.

I still choose to come here though, because the food is so good! I really hope the service improves. I'm not sure if it is turn-over or lack of staff....

Anyway, the food is worth it!

Absolutely incredibly lunch spot! The food is unbelievably good. I got a salmon pomegranate quinoa salad and loved it so much I forgot to take a photo. This cookie was also exceptionally good. I am already looking forward to the next time we can eat at Karen’s!

I travel extensively so I have the opportunity to frequent fantastic restaurants, bakeries, lunch stops from Healdsburg, CA to NYC. Karen's is almost in my backyard and today was my first visit (because I'm gone 75%). WOW!. Amazing food, large variety and the BEST blueberry muffin ever!!

BEST WEDDING CAKE EVER. I tried making my wedding cake myself, and it was an epic fail. Three days before my wedding, I called Karen’s bakery and they swiftly made me the best cake I’ve ever tasted. It was beautiful, moist, and absolutely delicious. I would 10/10 recommend Karen’s for any of your personalized cakes or baked goods.

I chose Karen's Bakery for my wedding cake and they did a phenomenal job. My wedding cake came out exactly as I had pictured it. Not only was the pricing a little cheaper than nearby special bakeries but the quality was amazing as well. We did a 3 tier cake with chocolate truffle mouse, raspberry and white chocolate and Dulce De Leche. All tasted amazing, I highly recommend Karens for your wedding cake or just their pastries and treats.

It stopped here to get a birthday cake, was happy with the quality. They offer many premade premium cakes, including lemon, carrot cake, Neapolitan, chocolate, German chocolate, as well as a selection of fresh baked cookies. They also offer lunch and dinner. Menus are posted daily on the website. Right in the heart of downtown historic Folsom. You can park at the parking garage, no charge. Take a picture below is $40. This is a four layer cake. Could easily feed twelve people or more with this.

I only bought pastries this time, which were amazing. Their food menu had many tempting offerings, some breakfast and some lunch items. It's very popular so there may be a line but it is so worth it. Never been disappointed eating there.

Excellent place to go for pastries and other things. I've tried many and they are good. Bran muffin and lemon and raspberry pastry and turtle brownie noted in picture. Delicious!

Went for lunch. Staff were very nice. Shared the ham and cheese panini and the burger with fries. Both were extremely flavorful and fresh. Large bakery selection, also delicious. Had some cheese and cracker/bread as well as a few wine selections if you wanted to picnic by the lake. Several seats inside as well as a nice patio outside. We'll definitely be back

I love the desserts here. We ordered pies over the holidays which were phenomenal!

Meatloaf sandwich has a surprisingly Mediterranean taste. Perfectly paired with great side salad with sesame seeds. Excellent choice to get here.
