Sociology Coffee Bar

Just off the American River bike trail, Sociology is a great place to take a break. Pictured is their oat milk mocha. I usually pair it with a veggie sandwich on fresh-baked sourdough. Fantastic!

Beautiful coffee shop located in a beautiful town in Folsom. Food and service was very good. Vegetarian options I had avocado toast OMG and my husband had the veggie sandwich.

Found this place on Instagram and decided to stop by while passing through Folsom. The coffee was so good I had to come back to try the famous Street Tacos. Although the tacos are definitely overpriced they are amazing. If you live in/near Folsom or are passing through I highly recommend you give this place a try! 4.9/5.

Really, really good. Yes, the panitos really are al that. The drinks are inventive and tasty. Can get a bit busy--line was out the door when we got there--but fear not, they are used to the rush and the line moves quickly. Service is excellent, friendly, and efficient. Yum!

Incredibly creative coffee bar! So many different things to try. We tried the old fashioned cold brew and the teddy graham and both were so good. The breakfast taco are indeed a must get, so much flavor profile and delicious. We will definitely be back!

I got a sweet potato latte from here and it was heavenly. The cafe itself is very cute and seemingly a little hidden. There's parts under construction right now but usually, the Cafe is bright and filled with plants and light. There's books to browse while drinking coffee and eating sweets sold. Nice place to hang out and talk.

Vibey cafe right off the historic Folsom strip. Outside seating a major plus. Super friendly super and great food. Avocado toast and street tacos rocked!

Great coffee spot in old town Folsom. Stumbled upon Sociology after a lunch at Karen’s Bakery as it is just a block down the road. Very pleasantly surprised! The decor is great and there are a lot of tables to work from or meet up with a friend. Great natural light and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about coffee. My husband got a dirty chai and I got an oat milk cappuccino. Both were delicious! We are looking forward to coming back the next time we are in old town

One of the hidden gems of the Sac Coffee scene,in my opinion. I had tried their coffee at the Folsom's farmers market but just recently got a chance to visit the coffee shop. They have interesting flavor options and I tried the Banana spice latte and loved it! I think it's because of the house made syrups, but the flavor was very subtle yet obvious, unlike some overpowering ones I've tried. The perfect latte art was the cherry on top. Would definitely be back to try out other flavors as well.

Loved their ambience which gives the place a lot of personal character and makes it stand out from other cafes which have a typical modern/chic vibes.

Tried Sociology on a Sunday morning. Shop was buzzing with customers coming and going. There are places to sit inside and outside. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I saw customers go to sit outside after ordering, if they didn't hear their name called staff would bring their drinks to them. Coffee was fantastic, but those breakfast tacos! Crispy bacon, eggs, cheese, micro greens and a chipotle sauce that is just a touch spicy, really delicious. It is so nice when a coffee shop takes their food seriously.

Definitely on the pricier side, but if you're willing to drop some change for the experience, it is worth it. Sociology is a local café with an artsy side to it, and some fantastic food options as well. Their coffee (~$5-6) tends to be on the sweeter side, and for an additional cost, you can try some unique beverages that are like a caffeine cocktail ($10-15). Service is incredibly quick, though sometimes at the sacrifice of friendliness. There's a gorgeous patio where you can watch bikers go by, as well as a colorful indoor seating area. Music is loud (great playlist) so bring headphones if studying. Of course, it's in walking distance from Sutter Street, so you can also bring your drink along as you look at the local shops. Overall, a great addition to the Folsom coffee scene!

Staff too nice. Way too many fresh blueberries in my muffin. Drink was too pretty to sip. I'm just a normal dude, not a king or anything, so why are they treating me like royalty? Why do they remember my name and know what I like? Why are they so smiley? Why do they all have such sick tshirts, jackets, hats and sweaters? Something is up here, and I'm gonna visit as much as possible to get to the bottom of this.

Get a coffee here and walk along the river nearby, so relaxing.

After my run around Lake Natoma I stopped by Sociology as always. The line was long but went super fast. Service is always great and the staff is very friendly and inviting. I got a cold brew and the breakfast panito to go and it was so good that I barely made it back to my car before it was gone haha.

Came here to get coffee (teddy graham cold brew)....and HAD to get breakfast (avocado toast).....AND had to try the tesora coffee cake at the counter on the way out. AND had to come back for lunch (mushroom breakfast tacos) AND of course another coffee drink (can't remember the name but had pear in it). Very creative drinks, delicious and well-presented. Loved the microgreens and veggies. I was in Folsom <24 hours but even if I stayed another day would have probably gone back to try something else there :)

Fantastic place to check out if you're in Folsom! Prices are reasonable, vibe is perfect, staff are friendly and awesome, and the good is quite good!

I'll be back to try some other items later this week and will definitely update guys review with what else I find to be awesome with it.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cold brew, tasted like an old fashioned, but coffee, could perhaps be slightly less sweet, but the flavor was spot on.

Where the vibes never die! Favorite coffee shop...period. end of discussion. Food is bomb, coffee is excellent, and everyone is super kind!

Delicious espresso and food. Hip and comfy interior for working, reading, or meeting up with a friend. Loved my oat milk latte with house-made floral syrup and turkey sandwich. The sourdough was perfect. My partner said his fog and panini/burrito hybrid were great too.
