Our beautiful state has so much to offer. One of the best things you could do here learning the history. The height of this dwarfed the eEmpire State building.
I WOULD RECOMMEND

Interesting spot, you can see down the mine shaft... Deeper than the Empire State Building. You can visit this place for free.

Swung by this free park to look at the headframe. Read the information describing the history of the mine. It wasn’t till we looked down the shaft and we’re totally amazed looking into the abyss 1900 feet down.

Really great historical area. There's a place where you can stand on a glass window over a 1900 foot mineshaft. Very informative.

Informative little park. Quite humbling to know how large the hole is and how deep into the earth the miners went down to work. To stand above the hole that goes that deep was pretty amazing. No fee but there is a recommended donation for the park.

Great historic place, you can get chills reading the history behind this place, almost feeling the souls that were lost here.
Wonderful views. I wish they can restore the buildings around so we can tour them.

Cool place. You can see the old mining equipment. They also have the shaft down into the mine that you can look down.

Such a cool place to visit with lots of history.  They have a place you can stand to look down the mine shaft and it's incredible.  They also have the basket that was used to lower people down into the earth to work.  Lots of information about the history and lots of original equipment is out on display throughout the area. Great place to stop, definitely worth it.

Very cool to be able to touch authentic mining equipment and to see down a 1,900 ft mining shaft. Highly recommend. Suitable for all ages.

Completely unexpected "bonus" attraction when you visit Jerome State Historic Park. It's literally adjacent to the park entrance gates. Operational from 1919 to 1938, the Audrey headframe lifted over three and half million tons of ore which produced 320,000 tons of copper, 190 tons of silver, and five tons of gold. Take five minutes on your way into Jerome Park to walk around this cool, educational historic site.

One of the best wooden head frames you'll ever see. There are many wooden head frames left anywhere. This frame sits over a 1900 ft deep shaft. You can look straight down the shaft. This is a three compartment shaft. Definitely a cool thing to see if you've never seen anything related to underground mining.

This only takes a few minutes, and yes it's hard to miss, but it's worth turning the motor home around three times to find, even with a husband who's beginning to grumble! Lol The two teen boys locked into their phones were basically ordered to look up and look and when you're looking down a mine shaft over 1/3 mile deep, even they got excited! Again, it's one of those places you'll never see anywhere else but here. There's no big visitor center, just a fence that says "open" and when we left at just after five, no one had come by to switch it to "shut" yet. So really, you can spend 20 minutes here and you'll be talking about it two hours later. They only ask for donations through a secure slot, no ticket required, so it's also inexpensive. Another place the kids won't forget in Jerome!

The sheer depth of this mining industry is amazing how far down the shaft took people to mine the copper.

This is great little park right outside Jerome State Park. It gives an amazing perspective on the feat of mining and the gumption miners had to decent almost 2000ft into the Earth. The park has the original mine shaft elevator on display and super safe thick safety glass over the original shaft so you can get an idea just how deep the mine was.

Very cool place it's just kind of up to you to read the history as far as the park goes, the highlight is a 1900 foot mineshaft covered by glass very neat to walk on

Staring down a 1900 foot shaft was exhilarating. Standing on the glass floor literally made my knees weak and took my breath away. An absolute must see while in Jerome.

This place is incredibly cool, they also don't make you pay seven dollars just to use the restroom. There was a Porta John on site.

Great stop on the way into the state park. Amazing how deep it is and that they have a glass floor to look down through!

Very cool attraction and free to check out. The kids loved standing on the glass and looking into the mine shaft.

Great piece of history. Was a nice place for a picnic. It had a little bit of a creepy vibe to it but seeing the view all the way down the mineshaft was shocking and so cool.
