Great place to camp! The sites are nice, not all of them perfectly level, but nicely spaced out. The campground host was amazing and when we had trouble with our RV starting, he pulled out all the stops to get us back on the road. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be back.

My husband and I have been camping here for the last few years. We come four to five times during the season and we love it. The trails and Wellington lake are close by. The camp host this season was so professional, kind and kept the place clean. The best host we have seen come through, I hope he returns next season. Until May of 2024!

I wouldn't bother with the campground, there are about 40 dispersed (free!) campsites on the road that are much more enjoyable. They're really spread out and very large, perfect for groups. Spent about 4 days here and loved it. Lot of trails and very quiet. Wellington lake is also close by and a beautiful site to see, however there is a fee.

It was our first time there It was so beautiful there I was amazed at how quiet and comfortable we were camping there I can't wait to make reservations for next summer with family. We loved it.

We intended on grabbing one of the more dispersed sites along 550, but on Friday at noon every site was taken. It was May 7th so I thought that early in the season we would be fine getting a site… So we rolled down the road a bit and checked out Buffalo Creek.

Most sites were available. Since there were two families, we picked sites 4 & 5. They are on the outer edge of the sites. The sites were spacious, spotless, and perfect for our families. I believe it may be a reservation area later in the season, but it was FCFS when we were there.

I have to say, I wound up not regretting missing out on the other dispersed campsites at all. The sites were clean, firepits clean and swept, bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen. We met the camp hosts who were friendly without being intrusive. They stopped by once to ask if everything was OK, which we appreciated.

I’ve done a lot of camping over the years, and this campground, due to the care of the hosts was just about the best I have seen.

This place has a life time of great times and good memories. I do not camp in the camp ground any longer. There are just to many people. It is a very popular place. It is also an awesome place for kids. The dispersed camping is better and farther away from other people, but a lot harder to find a spot that is not already full. The dispersed camping spots have been regulated, and there are far fewer spots than in years past. There is a lot to do, hiking, biking, fishing with your choice of creek or lake fishing. There is a near by hill mountain what ever, that is fun to climb. Tons of rock climbing. Near to the campground is a part of the creek wear families like play in the water.

My husband and I picked this place as a last minute campground selection for Independence day eve. I like the free sites for camping. We were able to share a site with two neighbors with plenty of space to have our own privacy. The neighbors were of course a little noisy so we did a little exploring and camped near a ridge which gave us a majestic view of the valley. We even may have spotted some ufo's hovering around the area around 2am. We definitely will go back and do some more exploring.

Love, love, love this campground! You can't beat free. It blows me away that all 32 of these sites are free. They get busy on the weekend, but that's because they're such great campsites. They're also right on top of some of the best mountain biking in the front range. If you're a camper who also rides, this place isca no-brainer.

Wonderful camping close to front range and Denver metro. Great hiking and mountain biking. Campground is well laid out and maintained. However, it can get very hot, so hot summer days head to higher elevation camping.

Great family camping area. A lot of kids, and century located to miles and miles of great mountain biking and hiking. Plan ahead and bring a lot of drink water, because there is no drinking water available at the camp ground.

My favorite nature therapy spot! Plenty of beauty to explore, hang a hammock, hike, and breath in the mountain air!

Campgrounds are great. Plenty of space between you and the next one. No close fishing, Wellington lake is separate and am extra fee.

Great campsite when I stayed there were lovely hosts. There are also these social little chipmunk things ( I think they were Chipmunks) that will steal your potato chips.

A quick 1 hour drive from home and you're in the hills, sitting in front of a campfire, in a well maintained and beautiful camp, and in the rocky mountains no less!!

The dispersed camping really makes you feel like you are the only ones there. We will be back, for sure.
