This is a small campground where most the sites don't have much privacy. There is a small river running through one side, and across the little bridge are great tent sites. There's a fence along the backside of the loop where there's private property.

All of that being said, we enjoyed camping here. The rock formations are pretty cool and the little river is great. You can also catch the trail to Lizard Rock that meets up with a couple of other trails. The camphost was also nice and helpful.

Such a cute camping spot! This was our first time camping here and I would definitely come back over and over again. Right next to the river and you can hike and rock climb literally anywhere. The chipmunks and prairie dogs were so cute and curious too. The camp hosts were kind and helpful making sure we were taken care of and that the whole site was clean. It gets very cold over night so make sure you pack accordingly. The river is great to swim and walk in and the views are fantastic.

I’m so looking forward to visiting again this year.mike and Charlotte were so accommodating, I have never had a camp host that was so awesome. So friendly, asked If they could help out. The camp was AMAZINGLY CLEAN. Definitely felt comfortable. I loved waking up to the mountains outside my door. Great spot.

A fabulous campground with such pretty views surrounded by round rocks and beautiful mountains. Car camping, camper, and walk-in sites (across a bridge, a little ways from parking lot) available along the Tarryall Creek, which is great for fishing though swimming (I believe) is not allowed we saw people taking their inner tubes down it. Basic toilets, though kept clean by a nice camp host. No bear boxes, so you have to keep food in your car. Lots of curious chipmunks will also get into your food if not properly put away. Nice little hiking trail also available to guests. Camp host has firewood for sale for $8. Lake George and Florissant aren't far for any forgotten basics, though they are tiny towns.

We tent camped, it was pretty chilly at night but totally amazing experience! The views were amazing and all the people we met were so friendly 10/10

Beautiful camping spot with access to many hiking trails and a small river. Everyone we met there was very friendly and welcoming. The only downside is no running water… but that might be overlooked once you see the amazing views from your campsite.

Epic location, great site hosts with wood for sale, and an all around great place to camp. I don't want to increase the popularity of this campground, but it really is one of the best places I've camped that I can recall.
Good fire pits, running water in the stream nearby, available well water, two bathrooms at each end of the camp, and all very well maintained. If you're looking to camp and reserve in advance this campground is a sure bet for a good time.

This is one of the campsites that we return to on a regular basis. You have to plan early as it is usually booked weeks ahead. Its clean normally fairly quite and beautiful views, They have a new campsite manager, who is not as friendly as the old one, but take that with a grain of salt. I am a play it forward kind of guy and I don't think he is in to that.

Love this camp site! I grew up going to this camp site as a kid and now have taken my kids. You do have to carry all your gear across a bridge that goes over the river so bring a portable wagon. However, we choose those camp sites. There are other sites on the main side of the bridge with outhouses. The camp sites have a lot of space and the people that work there are always so nice making sure that we are able to have the good time we came for.

An out of the way campground with a lazy river that runs through it. This river is mainly used for tubing and swimming, not fishing, therefore be prepared for people having fun in the water, maybe not as quiet as you'd like. However, we did not encounter any excessive noisy campers, just kids (and some grown-ups) having a good time. VERY quite after dark. There are many sites right along the river with the best ones being the "walk-in" sites over the bridge. These sites are prime. Sites not along the river are mostly out in the open with little shade. There is a new campground host, Ron, who is helpful and friendly.

This is one of our favorite place to camp in all of CO. Shhh, don’t tell anyone. You are on the river, nestled amongst gorgeous boulders, easy to get in and out of even with a large travel trailer.

I really liked this campground. The hike to lizard rock is great and the trailhead is right at the campground. We stayed at site 13. I actually liked the site despite it not having any shade and not being on the creek like other sites. Close, but not too close, to the bathroom and plenty of room for two cars.

Beautiful sites with easy river access. Hiking trails with trailheads located in camp. Site 11 is incredibly spacious!

We didn’t not stay at this campground but came upon it as we ventured into the lost creek wilderness. We can’t wait to begin planning a trip here. Campsites scattered along the beautiful creek and full of striking rock features. No 4X4 required paved road all the way to the parking lot. Seemed very popular with cyclists, saw many of them on the road driving to and from.

In regards to Mr. Ryan Wilsons post. If one is to make a review he or she should tell the whole story. Such as how far the car was driven off the roadway or spur, how much damage was done to the vegetation, how large rocks were moved to gain access, how the mean camp host filled in the holes from spinning tires and raked out the tracks. You failed to mention that doing what you did was a result of "I didn't know". That you failed to read the board at the entrance that said to keep vehicles off vegetation and on the road and spurs. You indicated that this was your forth time here but yet "I didn't know". You indicated the we both used profanity. Simply Sir, that is a bold face lie. We do not use profanity. Yes I did tell you to read the rules and regulations on your way out of the camp ground. Yes, I allowed you to stay with the Grandparents only because they are respectful people and because they knew camping protocol and could keep you children under control. I met the Grandparents earlier that morning for the first time. You failed to mention that not only did you not read the board that you also failed to follow the directional arrows and to obey the speed limit signs that are posted to protect other children and seniors that are playing in the Campground. During the conversation, your wife said she already paid for the campsite you were in and wanted the money back. That too Sir, did not happen. I have the keys to the Tube of which there were no envelope inside with your names or campsite. Bottom line was, we would not apologize for making your wife cry as a result of your ignorance and disrespect to the property, disrespecting fellow campers by damaging the CG. You will recall my taking pictures of your vehicle setting next to the tent pad approximately 50' + off the roadway. Please return one day, follow rules and regulations, respect others and the CG and enjoy your stay. Hope you enjoy the foods we had given you and your Grandparents.

Such a nice campground! It was crawling with kids. Did a ~20 mile run into lost creek wilderness from our site, great views/trails.

This is a beautiful, family friendly campground with some awesome tent only camp sites as well as RV/Camper sites that are non-electric. There's a well pump for water and some no flush toilets. The hiking and climbing trails are great and the Tarryall river provides a great place for fishing, tubing or swimming. Already reserved a site for a return trip in August!

What a find! Tubing on the river, hiking Lost Creek Wilderness, and incredible views. Great camping sites. Cleanest campground I have been to. So close to Tarryall for fishing and kayaking.

Great little national forest campground. Stream flows right through it that you can fish or chill in; some people even tube a short section of it. Miles of hiking trails that lead right out of the campground. The views around here are just beautiful.

You do get decent cell service here.

Facilities are about what you would expect in a NF campground; couple vault toilets, few dumpsters, non chlorinated well water, fire rings, picnic tables and wood for sale.
