South Dakota Driver Licensing Program

No appointments were available for the time we were going to be in Sioux Falls to transfer our drivers licenses to South Dakota. Went in as walk-in customers. We made sure we had all the required documents, plus extra. We arrived just prior to doors opening at 7am. Got in line, followed instructions given. In and out within 45 minutes!!! Super easy, very pleasant and knowledgeable staff.

I recently renewed my driver’s license with the DPS in Pennington County. The man who assisted me was very very nice. His attitude and the process made the ease of the process non-stressful and smooth. Thank you.

I have often said that South Dakota public servants are the friendliest I have ever met, after having lived in eight different states. Today I was provided excellent service at the Sioux Falls, Russell Ave licensing office. Liz smiled brightly as she asked to help when I entered the office. Later I approached Priscalla to present documentation to renew my driver’s license. She also smiled brightly and spoke in a friendly voice, obviously open to exchanging some pleasantries. When I inadvertently walked around the photo screen she laughed heartily as did I and her “next door” associate, Stacy. All of the transaction occurred with friendly efficiency and effectiveness. A special thank you to all three ladies for making it a pleasant experience for me.

My husband and I visited with Priscalla today to renew our driver licenses. She was outstanding, polite and extremely professional. We would have to say, she made the experience simple and very positive. Thank you.

The SD Drivers license employees/clerks were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant with our appointment for numerous items when transferring from Colorado. The DMV/Vermillion office representatives provided exceptional service.

The gentleman that helped me renew my license was most helpful. His name was Joel. I felt comfortable throughout the process. He was very efficient.

I was assisted by Mel at the Mitchell office for renewing my license yesterday and the service was outstanding! Professional, yet friendly, efficient, knowledgeable. Really made the experience a pleasure!

Fast! Leanne was very kind and helpful. Took about 10 minutes to renew my license. In and out!

Having traveled a majority of the globe I have to say that South Dakota and specifically this division have been the most helpful, effective, and responsive government agency I have ever dealt with. Special thanks to Rhyenn having made the experience the best in an already great organization.

I renewed my drivers license today at the Yankton office. The workers there were very friendly and made renewal extremely enjoyable!!

Dave was very professional and friendly my hearing is terrible and he very patient with me to help me hear what he was saying.
