What an eye 👁 catcher as your passing through main street of Lemmon You almost have to stop and take a walk through the park and view the rock trees of an ancient past Someone was hanging Xmas lights on some of the rock displays I mentioned every display should be lighted up She replied not enough lights I said if everyone in the community donated a string of lights then there'd be enough and it would be so cool see lite up and not just one color but multiple colored lighting 😀

This is a treasure! Incredible collections of artifacts, photographs, minerals, stones, pioneer living, and petrified bones, reeds, dinosaur eggs, and wood! Amazing testament to ingenuity, tenacity, and dedication. I did not take photos inside the museum, but you must see it! Amazing place!

Really neat spot! We saw it while passing through and decided to check it out- only a few blocks off the main road. Bummer we missed the museum (they close after Labor Day) and a REALLY cool spot to wander around for 10-15 mins!

Such an unusual place but extremely cool to see! We visited during the off season so the museum & gift shop were closed but you can still walk around the park to explore!

Interesting. If you are close by be sure to swing by. Don’t go too far out of your way though. Woman in the gift shop was super friendly and helpful.

This was my favorite stop of the whole weekend, so much to see all the different colors of wood make the park so beautiful! There is a museum that is a must to check out, they have it all! And And floor is big pieces of petrified wood, this stop was only about 40 mins out of our way and boy we are sure glad we went, check it out you will not be disappointed!

What a surprise to find sculptor an interesting place just off the highway. There are several hundred "sculptures mostly made from petrified wood. There is also an interesting museum with local history. worth a stop if you are traveling up highway 12.

This is a unique place that gives off "Outsider Art" vibes, and it's in a cool little art town on the ND/SD border. Try to catch Caroline or JB to give you some background info... they are very gracious hosts!

Pretty interesting little park. Lot of the same Ole same Ole, as someone spent years collecting petrified wood & round stones then turned it into an awesome exhibit.

Amazing park with many many structures made all of petrified wood. Also a neat museum with fossils rocks and bones as well as other items showing life back in the past.

Successfully convinced my friends to come here on the final leg of our road trip. Well worth the quick stop. It is obviously nothing breathtaking, but it is a pleasant roadside attraction, and if you are in the area, there’s no reason not to check it out. Very cool arrangements of petrified wood everywhere that breaks to monotony of your typical local park. Furthermore, the museum inside provides an interesting hodgepodge of historical prairie artifacts.

This park was such a cool place. Petrified wood statuesque like things. A castle, a well. Kids can run around and have fun! So can adults!

Came upon this by accident when we stopped for gas enroute to Rapid City. It was a really unique spot and collection of petrified wood arranged in artistic designs. Worth a few minutes of your time. No entrance fee... Donation only

The park closed on Labor Day for the season so the five stars are based on my walking around, looking at the petrified wood and signage that was posted. Great place for pictures. Didn’t look like parking would ever be a problem. If the park was open there would be restrooms available. The Petrified Wood Park is only one of the tourist attractions close to Lemmon so I can see a whole day spent in Lemmon.
