The Lilly Pad

Lily pad is a gem in the city. I love riding my motorcycle here. It’s a beautiful view and the food and drinks are good! I love the crab dip. I got breakfast pizza for brunch yesterday and it was also very good. I wish you guys would bring the drinks in pineapples back! I loved those too.

The cocktails are strong and quite delicious. The place is very cool right in the river and the food rocks! Get the crab dip and don't be cheap and upgrade to the pita (house made pizza dough). My son got the cheese pizza and was also same delicious scratch dough. The hush puppies are good but the strawberry butter takes them over the good to great. Also great service and do be sure to be kind to all staff, don't be that guy/Karen.

First of all the seats the seat are amazing! The view of the river is incredible! Now the service was on-point today (3/4/2023), very nice staff.

Now the food: For appetizers we got hush puppies and fried calamari and it was very good! I can taste the flavors and the calamari was very tender which made it very good. The main course we got a pepperoni pizza and burgers. The burger was very good. Very juicy and tender, the fries were good as well, very crispy. And the fries were so good with the honey mustard and ranch for dipping. Then the pizza, it was good (not as good as Zorch lol) but overall the experience was very good! 5 star restaurant

Absolutely loved this spot. The service was amazing and the food was great too. They offer drinks and apps if you have to wait for a table. I recommend the crab dip (the up charge to pita was well worth it) and the steamed shrimp.

Great food; pleasant environment. The Honey Glazed Salmon is mouthwatering! This place has everything, including a friendly staff providing excellent customer service.

Vacation vibe with a view of the James River and the marina. Great food and drinks. Check schedule for live music. I enjoyed a Sunday lunch date with my hubby on the outdoor patio. No indoor dining. We ate fried catfish sandwich. Fried oysters and fried shrimp ...all excellent!

So we finally made it to The Lilly Pad after hearing great things about it! It was wonderful. From the time we arrived the host greeted us and helped us decide where to sit based on our wind preference. Sitting on the water was amazing. Our waitress was helpful and made great suggestions! Our food and drinks were delicious. I spoke with Management and felt like I was being heard. They even have a happy hour!!! I have already recommended this place to several people. I can’t wait to go back to get me a Pain Killer on the happy hour and sit by the water to eat and have conversations.

Update: I forgot to add that a storm came through and staff helped move people under the tent to keep dry. Great customer service!

My family spent a couple days in Richmond and found this place where we could take our dog. There is nothing like it back home but there should be. The food was very good. We had the pork bbq pizza, calamari and ahi tuna salad and Moose got a bully stick to keep him busy. The orange crushes were strong, everyone was very friendly and the spot on the water was beautiful as the sun went down.

If you love great goods and a picturesque view of the water with great service, then 😉 you found it. Seriously, everything was delicious. we went for brunch, but I ended up getting a shrimp pizza and some mermaid 🧜‍♀ water. Go have fun..

This is outdoor only dining only under canopies with heaters or under the canopy of stars. Enjoy a delicious choice from the menu and a tasty beverage to accommodate your meal. The restrooms are heated and there are adequate accommodations for handicap people. Children are welcome but keep a close watch on them as there are no safety rails or ropes between the dock and the marina waters. There are no lifeguards on duty. I had a wonderful dining experience there and remember to tip the staff well for their good service.

What a night!! This was our first time at the Lily Pad and we’re definitely becoming repeat customers. We went on a Friday evening, ready to hear some music, have a few drinks and enjoy some delicious food. And we did! Even left with a tank! 😍

This place is WONDERFUL. I was skeptical after reading some of these reviews. All of the employees were helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived until we left. The hostess was happy & friendly. We sat in the bar area by the river in front of a fire pit and had a drink while waiting for our table - it was the perfect way to relax and much welcomed end to the work week. And the sunset was amazing!!! The food was fresh & flavorful, the portions were large, and service was excellent. We can’t wait to come back.

Even though it was a cold night, it was a great place to eat! Good food, great drinks. We loved that it was dog friendly, the dog menu was so cute! The crab dip appetizer was delicious! Portions are just right as well!

This restaurant has delicious food, an awesome atmosphere, and friendly/attentive staff. Perfect seafood and drinks to end a great day on the river. I hope to come back again soon!

Gorgeous picturesque view of the water. The food was good however the drinks were better😂. Our waitress Savannah was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and served with a smile. My family and I had an incredible experience and will be back soon.

Yall this place is awesome! The staff is great, the food is great, the drinks are strong and the view is incredible! Little on the pricy side but worth it! All outside sitting but the breeze from the river makes it work. If you go I highly recommend the hushpuppies with Betty butter, they are exceptional! Enjoy!

Had a 15 min wait, glad we got there when we did bc it filled up fast! Great service & food out by the water. DJ doing salsa dance lessons while we were there. Fun place for outdoor dining/drinking. Dogs allowed!

We got there at 5 pm and I noticed that the view is spectacular. Right on the water. The James River. Its so popular that we waited an hour for food. I was highly impressed that my 3 young kids waited so patiently for dinner.

We finally get seated at 6 pm at what looked like a picnic table. August was our waitress. She was fabulous. We shared oysters and they were to-die-for. So good. Melt in your mouth good. Hubs and my son got burgers. Both said they were great. I got a house salad and 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp. Fabulous. The salad was very fresh and mixed greens were crisp. Had cherry tomatoes, onions and very large slices of cucumbers in it. I just got the smaller version of the salad. They have a dinner size salad too along with Cesar salad (small or large) and you can add shrimp or chicken to.

Bottom line, well worth the wait. I heard around 430 or earlier is a better time to go if u go on the weekends. Weekdays around lunch time is the best time to go. But they did a renovation so it can seat more ppl and when you get seated, Ppl aren't eager to leave once they sit down so be prepared for that. Who can blame them??

Delicious food that is made with fresh ingredients. Fish and chips was fantastic. Greek salad with grilled chicken also really good. Polenta fries were something we hadn't tried before but would definitely get again. Kind of like a super savory bread stick type thing. Nice, shady outdoor seating by the water. Super efficient and friendly staff. You really can't go wrong here.
