Florida Department of Revenue Child Support Program - Panama City

It took me visiting the office 3 times before I received the resolution I needed the first 2 times a lady at the desk kept telling me I had an outstanding warrant I tried to give her the receipt where a purge was just made and I had just made more payments and she kept telling me to call Tallahassee finally got through to Tallahassee and they say it has to be done at local office so head
back there again luckily this time A guy named Leon is at the desk and takes time to figure it out make a copy of prove I paid and handled and updated everything in my case, REALLY THEY SHOULD GIVE HIM A RAISE AND MAKE HIM HEAD SUPERVISOR BECAUSE HE SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO DO THE JOB CORRECTLY! SO MY 5 STARS GO DIRECTLY TO HIM! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK LEON! Thanks from Christopher Herring

Had nothing but the best experience coming into this office! Worked specifically with a gentleman by the name of Leon. He helped me with everything I needed in regards to the department of revenue messing up my profile. Also wanted to mention how great it is to have a male presence in the office working upfront it helps with feeling comfortable talking about certain situations. Keep up the good work guys especially Leon!

I came in with a problem that wasn’t getting anywhere with anyone else and Leon seemed to be the only person that I talked to that actually cared about the case. He took the time out and actually help me find information and took the extra time to see what he can do to help the situation as best as possible. Very knowledgeable and listened with a concerned ear instead of just rushing me away from his window with no resolve (which has happened on so many occasions). Wish everyone I encountered while dealing with these situations actually took the time to listen and help, maybe he should teach an empathy class for them….

I had a blackman name leon help me with an issue and he was courteous and professional and very helpful and knowledgeable.
Now there was some lady helping him I guess she was training him. However she had talked to him with a rude and dreadful tone and her whole demeanor was unprofessional and disrespectful I believe her name is Susan she spoke to me with a horrible disposition and her mannerism was totally disrespectful and mean.
I've never felt so insulted and degradated in this situation she needs to be reprimanded and removed from dealing with the public.
This Susan person has no decorum or manners or understanding her approach to public service is irreprehensible and Egregious and just flat out wrong.
She needs sensitivity training asap.

Entry location moved to front of building again. Door on left now. Door has handicap opener. Renovated office looks like bank tellers.

My experience at this office has been 80% great. I really struggled with how many stars to give them, but I’m hoping this review might encourage them to make positive changes rather than bash them. My case worker, Leon, was very patient and kind with me from the beginning. Gave me the information and help I needed. The manager is where my experience really took a turn. My first time in the office I was very emotional, I admit. Not upset, but emotional. I wanted to find out how to stop/cancel the child support proceedings because… in all transparency… I am in fear of my child’s father. When I became confused, emotional and asking questions… the manager made it seem to me that I needed police reports, medical reports of something official of that sort. Which I asked her, how many battered women do you know that actually make police reports or reports of any kind?? Which upset me more. She then pointed her finger at me as she talked to me. Just really made me feel as if I was being victim blamed rather than having someone there to just help me do what I needed to do to feel safe. Triggered my PTSD and I left the office in tears.
I went back the next day to try again and Leon, my case worker, really made me feel better about the whole thing. And I’m thankful for that. And won’t let my one bad experience with one person ruin my perspective on the entire office.
Being in that line of work, in that kind of office… I feel like a little more patience and empathy is needed to handle special cases like mine with people like me.
So there’s an honest review in hopes of positive change.

Could have had a better experience with someone who likes doing their job. I felt as if I could have been helped more than I was.

Bring your patience because you're gonna need them!!

Whether you’re on child support or not, that’s your problem not theirs but I can tell you is. The customer service is terrible sitting on hold for 45 minutes after calling seven times back to back because it prompt simply hangs up until it finally gives you a different option is ridiculous. I never thought you’d be on hold for so long when you’re trying to set up payment.

This place is a joke been here five time in the past month to try and get them to fix a problem.on their end.they also have 8 different booths and I've only seen one person working here .this visit I sat for an hour with Noone even in the office the whole time. They are always rude.ive been back and forth from the courthouse to here and every time they blame each others agencies for the errors

I have a court order from TN for child support. I reside in Florida but you have to continuously keep going to the office when you have a problem (they dont answers the phone) and they still don't help you.

Don’t go to this office. Just call the 1-800 number because these people mot only will not be of any help, they will literally tell you inaccurate information. They said since I was filing the custody order I could not contest the order just the person who was receiving the order. That is mot accurate at all! I literally could have just said oh well, but instead I called and they gave me the info I needed. Another time I went there and they said they will be in contact to send me a link to a court hearing three days away. Like that is going to happen. I’m sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else, but believe me when I say DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. They will cost you thousands of dollars with their incompetence.

The service in that office is TERRIBLE, you can arrive and there is no one in the room and you still wait 10 to 15 minutes to be attended to, usually there are one or two at the window and the way they treat you is awful, as if they don't care what you need. They don't solve any type of problem or situation, and everything is with an attitude, they are not used to solve or help the citizens. -0

Customer service, well thats non existent. Being there seems to be an inconvenience to the employees. I get it, you deal with less favorable circumstances sometimes, but you chose the job.Don't take it out of everyone else, we don't want to be there either. Do better.

This is a joke. I came into the office, there is no other customer here, 3 people are laughing, talking and standing around the token "black guy" in the office. I'm in the waiting room now for 15 mins with no assistance from anyone but something sure is funny on the computer. Shameful place, even if they don't have expectations what about just good service and consideration to people that make it so you have a actual job.

Waited on hold for 30 minutes to be hung up on. Meanwhile I’ll have another double garnishment due to the shortcomings of child support services. Just because child support is administered by the government doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be held to the same customer service expectations as every other company. It should be even better service cause we pay for it! Highly disappointed with this “service “ all the time.
