Absolutely beautiful nature reserve. It was created by local residents, who raised funds and made the site return to wetlands as it was once upon a time. I visited with my parents and saw an incredible variety of birds and wildlife. Some were posing for me, perched right on the railings of the boardwalk! A wonderful and fully handicap/stroller accessible walking area.

Lots to see at this local "free" nature park. It covers a large area, so many people are getting exercise as well as getting a chance to see birds, turtles and gators.
If I lived here ( I am a visitor), I would visit often.

We are regular visitors to Green Cay Wetlands, especially this time of year when the weather is nice. Today was a little warm but there was a wonderful breeze keeping it comfortable. The wetlands offer a great refuge to wildlife amidst the suburban sprawl of West Delray. For visitors, there is a one mile loop, and a slightly longer one, which are entirely boardwalks built above the wetlands and through the wooded hammocks, which enables the main activity, walking. Today, the wildlife we spotted included birds turtles and small fish. The highlights were the baby herons and a lot of anhingas. Over the years, we used to regularly see alligators in the wetlands, but haven't seen one in the last 10 visits, even at the gator hole. The Nature Center has exhibits that include baby gators. My tip for those that stop inside the Nature Center, AFTER walking one of the boardwalk loops, is to check the exhibit which tells the story of the family that donated their farm to be transformed into the current Green Cay wetlands in the 1990s. The other obvious tip is to allow time to take it all in, a glimpse of South Florida in its natural state.

It is very enjoyable oiting in the nature, spotting birds, iguanos, Crocs, and many other animals that live in the wetlands. You can hike their on wooden walkways that are above the water connecting the various islands. A great outing hughly recommendable if you are in the neighbourhood.

Super beautiful and worthwhile tour through nature. Large parking area. Open sunrise through sunset. I was totally impressed with the plant life and animals we were able to see. Many different species of birds as well as turtles and an alligator doing their thing. Really a cool way to spend an hour or two.

We decided to visit and go for a walk and ended up looking at all the different wildlife. Saw turtles, herons, and other diving waterfowl. (See if you can find all the iguanas hiding in the trees and the vegetation!)

Been going here for the last 20 years. Wonderful place to take a walk, has a lot of varied wildlife. There are two main paths one half mile and one full mile, walking the entire thing takes around a half hour at average pace. We did see an alligator this past time.

Best boardwalk and nature trail in Delray. Lots of wildlife and always a gator or two around sunbathing.

This is a nice spot for a relax nature walk. This area is truly calm and beautiful. Might spot some wild life here and there during nature walk. There are two boardwalk paths and pretty quiet. You can hear different sounds like birds and reptiles as you make way down the boardwalks. There are benches and a few pavilion for shelter throughout to take a rest. Everything is on wetlands, so just be mindful or if alone while walking the longer path where nothing’s in site but trail and enclosed trees. I found it to be well maintained and safe. Hours of operation is from sunrise to sunset. Love going there in the afternoon or early morning when I was a local to avoid the heat. It can be kind of hot since it’s outdoor except for the indoor museum but there’s limited hours. Family friendly. Restrooms available. Free parking and entry.

Beautiful nature preserve in a residential area. Boardwalks to walk on over the wetlands. Many come to walk for exercise. Many photographers show up to bird watch.

A very nice nature walk on a boardwalk through the wetlands. There are actually two trails one can trek on each with a lot of nature.

Be sure to stop at the information desk to pick up a scavenger hunt sheet. The kids will have tons of fun looking for this on the sheet.

Also, there's an interesting video playing in the theater.

We spent around two hours and hardly notice how fast time went by.

Amazing nature preserve, wildlife everywhere. People talking loudly, exercising with heavy footsteps, and immersed in their cell phone conversations suck though.

I would rate it higher if I could. I've been there a few times. All great views, interesting wildlife, and friendly staff. I also went to a small class about predatory birds, and met a real celebrity, Oliver!
