My visit to the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery was an incredible experience that truly deserves a glowing 5-star review. Nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of Leavenworth, this hatchery is a haven for both nature enthusiasts and those seeking a deeper understanding of conservation efforts.

The hatchery's facilities are impressive, showcasing the intricate process of raising and releasing fish. The guided tours provided a fascinating insight into the life cycle of salmon and their journey from eggs to mature adults. It was awe-inspiring to witness the meticulous care given to each stage of their development, ensuring their survival and the sustainability of the ecosystem.

The highlight of my visit was observing the fish migrations. Witnessing the sheer determination of the salmon as they navigated their way upstream was an extraordinary sight. The hatchery's efforts in creating fish ladders and providing a safe passage for these magnificent creatures truly showcase their dedication to their mission.

Beyond the educational aspect, the hatchery also offers picturesque surroundings. The serene beauty of the Wenatchee River, combined with the lush greenery, created a tranquil atmosphere. It was a delight to explore the well-maintained trails and observe the diverse wildlife that thrives in this natural habitat.

Furthermore, the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery plays an essential role in the community. They actively engage with schools and organize outreach programs, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among the younger generation. Their commitment to conservation and environmental education is commendable and sets an excellent example for others.

We were in Leavenworth with a friend and she got tickets to the theater. Saw Cinderella and it was so cute... The actors were good as well. Take a light jacket because when the sun goes down it gets pretty breezy and chilly

Neat place to see some salmon and learn about their life cycle. They also have problem beavers that they remove and relocate to places where their dams are more useful to the ecology. There are several nature trails behind the hatchery that you can meander down on a nice day with views of the mountains.

Had the pleasure of visiting this place and getting a tour from Jodie and her husband Doug. This was actually one of my favorite parts of the trip. We learned so much and Jodie our guide was so knowledgeable and had the answers to all of our questions. We ended our tour chatting it up with these lovely folks. Great place to learn so many interesting things and truly wonderful staff working there!

We really like this little place. Stayed in Leavenworth for 2 months and this was a regular stop. Bring your binoculars or telephoto lens for the birds, plus lots of deer and even the occasional black bear.

Lots of trail area, public facilities are not open as of 5/05 but they have a ranger on site to answer questions. Not many of the hatcheries are not in use anymore, could be amazing area for aquaponic farming! Views are amazing and the canal waterfall is just churning with healing energy.
