As a veteran I had to call all the time to get my GI bill benefits. Education was good for most port but the instructors are hit or miss

It's not cheap, it's about $3,000 a semester due upfront and there is no financial aid. I was told the electrical companies usually pay for the classes and that's what the companies would say at interviews but none of the companies did. All of the companies hired me full time but fired me when the projects were over so I have a resume that looks like I can't work anywhere longer than 3 months which makes it difficult to find a job. They do find you work before you pay so that was good. Classes are not easy, I joined the union after a few semesters at IEC and union classes were much easier. They also give you this ultimatum that if you leave for more than 1 or 2 semesters then you have to start all over but the jobs don't pay well so it can be a struggle to pay $3,000 a semester when you're only making $2,000 a month after taxes. I really wish they would force the companies to pay something towards tuition, a few bucks a hour, because the way it is now you're spending about 25% of your take home pay on tuition which doesn't leave much to live on. I would probably still recommend it, but you'll need someone else to help you pay the bills while you're going here because you won't make enough by the time you pay tuition.
