Sansui Sushi Bar & Grill

My girlfriend and I come here regularly now. It's usually not very busy on Sundays, and we are usually greeted very warmly. The quality of sushi is phenomenal, and we have traded our old regular (Tasu) for Sansui after they messed up our orders too many times. The pricing is good, and the place is cozy. I highly recommend this place for a good date with your significant other!

I have been going to this place for years and I really love it. They always have their 50% off sushi which turns out to be quite a deal. The portions are usually large and the lunch bento box and sushi deal are great portions.

Fresh, flavorful sushi and sides every time we dine. The staff are excellent and remember you with a warm welcome.

I ate at Sansui last night for the first time and I was impressed with how kind and generous the owners were. The sushi was so delicious that it seemed to be melting in my mouth! I also loved the cheesecake dessert and the green tea ice cream. Ingredients were fresh, and the atmosphere was inviting, casual chic, relaxed. The wait staff is personable, attentive, and quick. Overall I give more than 5 stars to this exceptional little family business.

Our favorite sushi place in Durham. As far as I can tell it's not super busy and we've only had to wait once. Friendly waiters and the rolls taste great. Also, all rolls are 50% off, which is a better deal than the buy-one-get-one-free that you can find at many other sushi places in Durham.

My son and I ate here last night and had a delightful and completely satisfying experience. The sushi was outstanding: fresh, delicious and surprisingly inexpensive. Our server was friendly, helpful and efficient. What more can you want (if you like sushi...and probably any type of Japanese food)? We'll return soon.

I frequently dine here when I am dying to have some good sushi! The hostesses and waitresses are very friendly and we are served our food in a timely manner. The chef always does a wonderful job on everything he serves and makes sure to thank his guests. The sushi is ALWAYS half price so you get the most bang for your buck. If you are feeling a bit adventurous try out the specials they are fantastic! This is actually the 1st place I tried sushi ever in my life, since then I have been to a lot of places and nowhere has come close to the freshness and taste of Sansui. Try it out, you won't regret it!

I just moved to Durham from Houston two weeks ago and got an itch for sushi, so I decided to venture out and hope for the best. The first place I got to was one of those $50 for a 5-course meal type places, which was a no-go with 2 kids with me. The second place we stopped by was packed to the gills with a 30 minute wait time. The fourth place was closed on Sundays. We were about ready to throw in the towel when we decided to try one more time and roll the dice with the GPS. I am so glad we did. This place is great. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is very sleek and well-decorated. The service was impeccable and the kids and I all enjoyed our food immensely. Plus, who can beat half-price sushi? We will definitely be back.

This is our favorite place for sushi in Durham - we routinely drive 30 minutes to come here from North Durham. We usually get one of the lunchtime specials - it's an excellent value, and the soup and salad accompaniments are a nice touch that I really look forward to! The hostess is friendly, the service is usually quick, and the food is delicious!

We had a wonderful experience at Sansui. The food was great; from our miso soup and salad to the pork dumplings and sushi. I ordered the Kelly roll just because of the name and loved it. Our waitress was attentive and kind. She brought us a spoon for our baby when I realised I had failed to pack one. It was a great experience and we will definitely go back again during our many Raleigh trips.

I've done a sort of Sushi tour of establishments in Durham and with the exception of M downtown, this place is my favorite. Great quality of fish, friendly wait staff, and they made a point to remember me after I came in a few times. If you like sushi, you need to try this place.

My favorite sushi place ever! I don't need Terra Cotta statues and flashy fountains like those other places, just give me good sushi and let the food.speak for itself. The Ocean Pyramid is SO good. I've been a regular customer for over 10 years, the staff are always pleasant and welcoming, I love Sansui!

Half-priced sushi all day? Yes, please! It's also high quality, made-to-order, and great tasting. We shared 4 rolls, and I loved them all. Just go!

Best sushi in Durham! From the salad to the tempura to the sushi, it's incredibly fresh and delicious. The prices are very competitive. We are picky when it comes to sushi, but this is by far the best. The decor and space is not spectacular, but the sushi more than makes up for it.

Really enjoyed this place. The rolls are very good, good variety and mix of ingredients. The prices were really reasonable for such complex rolls. The space is clean and simply designed. We appreciated that there weren't a bunch of tvs to distract you. Service was friendly and quick

Great small sushi spot. Owner is a great guy! The sushi is the best I've ever had hands down. The normal food on the other hand is average at best. But I can't speak highly enough of the sushi

I had the sashimi lunch while eating with coworkers. It was just the right size for lunch and came with soup, salad and rice. There were 3 each of the salmon, tuna, and a white fish, and 2 each of the white tuna and octopus. The octopus was more tender than usual. It was very quiet for lunchtime, but we went on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Nice staff, who offered to double the soup or salad if you didn't want one of them.

Hello. From the exterior, one may suspect foul play. I'll admit at first glance, I thought I may acquire food poisoning. But nay. I was so pleasantly suprised by my experience. The food was well priced and good portions. A lot of bang for your buck. Interior was decently decorated. Service was good. Only complaints is the abundance of saxophone music played. Overall very pleased and would recommend. Do not be deterred by the exterior. Made my Valentine's unforgetable.
