This is a great kayak park to have in NW Arkansas! There are several routes to go down the park, with a bit of diversity regarding what skills you're working on.

The one downside of the park (maybe) is that it gets super crowded with beach goers and swimmers during the weekends, so be prepared to show up early or possibly have to wait for parking ans the space is limited.

That being said, once in, the area to offload your kayak, canoe, or SUP is easy to use for loading and unloading. You can go down the park rapids, then pull your boat out and walk it back to the start, as many times as you want to while there. If you feel like it, there's nothing stopping you from exploring a little down past the park on the river too, as long as you don't mind paddling back up stream to leave. Oh and there is a small rock climbing structure that kids might like.

There are bathrooms, beach space, tables, and nice landscaping all around. It seems to be regularly getting better, but yeah, on the weekends, it's crowded.

Currently a great free place to put in or take out our kayaks for a float, but they are going to start charging $10 for parking Fri-Sun soon. I do enjoy the park, though!

Great place for families to spend the day in the sun and water. Small rapids to keep everyone happy. Life jackets should be used

My friend and I enjoyed our time at the kayak park yesterday. Lots of people, families and kayakers, Also seen a couple of canoes. We moved down stream to a private gravel bar which was awesome. There were a couple of young boys fishing, wading out half way to fish the other side. They were catching and releasing a few brown bass.
The Illinois River was swift but great for floaties.
Hope to go again next weekend!!!

Super awesome place to spend the day swimming and playing. The rapids are challenging in a kayak, but fun. Definitely more people flipping than not! But it's a pretty safe place to learn how to handle rapids.

But you don't need a kayak to have fun here. In fact, I'd recommend an inner tube, or even just body surfing it. The bottom is very smooth, and the big rocks are easily visible.

If you'd rather skip the rapids, there's several pools good for swimming, rocks to climb on, and even a great place to jump or swing into the water.

Facilities: Restrooms (portapotty style, pretty gross, but available), changing rooms, plenty of trashcans, loading/unloading area, picnic tables.

Rules: It is clearly posted NO charcoal grills, and NO alcohol. For what it's worth, there were at least 20 grills while we were there, and lots of beer drinking. I'm not saying you should break the rules, but lots of people do. Police patrol the area several times a day, which made it feel safe, but they did not enforce the posted rules.

I'm from Dallas Texas and this place was recommended by friends when visiting them. The roads to the place was narrower and curvy than I'm use to. By recommendation we had to arrive early to get a great spot under a few trees since we'll be there for a few hours. The river water was nice and cold. Decided to launch the kayak or a tube near the bridge just start to go down the transition rapids. My family enjoyed the place. Next time I'll try the canoeing tru the river.

This place is so wonderful practicing for Whitewater kayaking. And just an all around nice place to picnic for the day. If I lived closer I would be here every other day.

What an amazing park. The rapids are very fun here especially when the water level is up. This is a great spot to put in a kayak if your wanting to float down to the Oklahoma side. About 8 miles west towards highway 59 is a beautiful waterfall. The waterfall is powerful and we did not attempt to go down it. This is a very nice river to kayak and it’s full of great areas to swim at.

Just went to check it out at work the end of February, I had the area to myself. And it is beautiful! Very peaceful to listen to the water running over the rapids.
There are some picnic tables, port-a-pots and a changing area.
Needs to have a sign on the main road or you'll miss the turn.

We loved being able to swim in much of it. Going over the falls on my float over & over was so Kool 😎. We couldn't get our rubber boat very far so we just keep coming back for the beautiful water. Bring your lunch & stay for a while You'll be glad you did ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Such a great park don't know why I haven't reviewed it until now. Today was our first time out in public swimming after the COVID19 pandemic. When we got there it was about half capacity. No one was wearing masks but everyone was keeping good distance and being respectful. It was reassuring to see Siloam Springs Park employees observing behaviors. I think outdoor parks like this are great for many reasons especially during the times we're in now.
