THE most underrated spot on the peninsula! I have dined here twice and had amazing experiences both times. The sweet potato curry was absolutely perfect, we loved the meatballs, and the pasta topped with pistachios was to die for. All the cocktails are top notch, too!

This is a really cute restaurant with a fully stocked bar and the most delicious pizza & pasta. We heard about the restaurant from a server at another, and we are so happy we checked It out!! I got the salami pizza and vodka sauce is SUCH a good idea. Genius. My husband got the Thai noodles and was ecstatic with every bite. These people know how to make pizza and pasta! While the menu is limited, I’m sure you can find something you like! Definitely check It out before coming if you are a picky eater. I’m very pleased, and if we are ever back in town, we will be back!

Everything was fresh, well made and delicious. Cannot recommend the cauliflower curry enough. Pizza was like nothing we've had before - in a good way.
Cocktail menu was extremely well curated and contained a lot of flavor combinations I've never seen elsewhere. A joy to visit on vacation, and we'll definitely return next time we're in town. Bonus is the two hours free parking in the parking garage - yay for not paying for parking when going out in Charleston!

Waiters and staff are the nicest and most welcoming people! A new favorite here! The basic ceasar salad was the best salad i’ve had and the food was fresh, authentic, flavorful, and just amazing. Restaurant is very clean and aesthetic, even feminine products in the bathroom which is very thoughtful! A great experience to be there and they comped the bday desert!

Such a fun spot to pop in! The milk punches they have are so tasty and refreshing, definitely need to try one. Cauliflower curry is a must. The pizza was crispy and delicious. Also got the cannolis…. Didn’t get a chance to snap a pic before we scarfed them down.

Amazing food and experience. Amber was our hostess and she was amazing! We ended up the curry and Margherita pizza. One of the most delicious meals of my life. Curry was 10/10 and Margherita pizza was 15 out of 10 !!! We liked this was so much we came back 3 times. The 3rd time everyone took shot with us as a final goodbye !!!

We had such an amazing experience here this past Thursday evening. Gale Restaurant was everything we could have hoped for and so much more. We were visiting from out of town and looking for an Italian restaurant with accessible parking. The location made it so easy to get to the interstate and head home from there. From the moment we entered, it was clear that this was a very welcoming environment where ALL are invited. The atmosphere was so pleasing and had such nice touches like the colored lights above the bar. Our server was Jorge. He was phenomenal. He was very attentive to our needs. He explained the menu, various items on the menu, and informed us that changes could be made by the chef if we wished. He suggested the mocktails, which we tried and thoroughly enjoyed - especially the Lavender Rain. The food was extremely quick and very delicious. Between the three of us, we shared 2 pizzas. It was evident that everything was prepared fresh to order. When we had the cannoli for dessert, we could even see it being filled from our table. Jorge packed up our leftover Shrimp and Margherita pizzas separately and even gave us a sampling of a cornbread that the chef was working on while we there. It was a very enjoyable, memorable meal; and we will definitely return on future visits to Charleston.

We had one of everything - literally. We were looking for a good dinner that wasn’t too heavy but still satisfying. Gale is a winner - focused menu with unique starters (especially the fried Brussels sprouts), interesting craft drinks, and outstanding pizza. Intimate atmosphere and a small team of staff that really cares. Great for sharing a variety of options. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We just had our son’s rehearsal dinner there and it was awesome. Food, service , ambiance, highly recommend. John the manager made it all happen. The owner Gale is a true gem. It was a magical night! We cannot say enough good things. Thanks again to the Gale Restaurant , best night ever!❤The guests are now asking me how to get the recipes!

The food is so freakin fresh and in season that everything they bring to the table gives you real #farmtotable flavor! Not to mention, the staff is super welcoming and the restaurant itself is both chic, colorful and cozy!

I low key wanna go back tomorrow and try something else on the menu. I also had the Cauliflower Curry which was bananas! 🤯😋

Plans fell through at a reservation for another restaurant and I was left with the task of making new reservations, night of, at 8:30 pm, for 7 people….Gale and her exquisite team came through with late night service full of delicious food and drinks.

Our table ordered almost everything on the menu and nothing disappointed. The quality of the food was delicious and the dishes themselves were fun and comforting. The leek cream is amazing on everything, the pizza crust is light, soft, and flavorful, and they had a special pumpkin dessert that tied everything up beautifully. I could go on and on, but you have to go to know.

I think their “zero-proof” drink menu is also worth mentioning, since it not only includes anyone that comes to dinner, but also sets the bar for others in the cocktail business.

I considered posting photos of empty plates...what good does that do if you cannot appreciate the artwork and love that goes into every dish and cocktail. I was here celebrating our wedding anniversary, best decision ever. The staff is phenomenal, talk about great recommendations and attentive at the right time. No hovering, service is on point and the food is so good, there won't be leftovers. Let's talk portions, there is plenty in all categories. If I was the owner, I'd reduce the portion by about 10% and retain the prices. It's easy to leave here happy and full. We had multiple dishes, Brussel sprouts, buratta, mushroom pizza and a delicious fruit dessert. Cocktails are creative and make you want more. This is a place I could easily visit weekly and never get bored. Oh, FREE parking behind the place!!! Go, only if you love cool people, inviting atmosphere and most importantly, fantastic food!

To sum it up in two words…Absolutely Fabulous!!! The Restaurant not only has amazing food, but their drinks are fantastic too. The owner, chef and the server were all super super nice. Loved every item we ordered. ❤ Please try their butter corn curry and Brussel sprouts appetizers as they were out of this world.

I was in Charleston a week ago when the group I was with ordered takeout pizzas from Gale. The pizzas are seriously some of the best I have ever had - specifically the mushroom!!

I came again with my family this evening and we sat at the bar where Jonathan served us, and we were SHOCKED at the amazing quality and uniqueness of the cocktail menu. We had the Lavender Town, Give it a Chai, and the Cruis’n World 64 - all were absolutely amazing. For food, we had the mushroom pizza (again), the Pomodoro pasta (soooo good), and the lemon Ricotta pasta (also delicious). I cannot express to you enough how much of a great experience it is to dine here - seriously a Charleston must (whether you’re visiting from out of town or live in the area). 10/10 experience <3

We started off with a specialty drink. It was fantastic. The Caesar salad was large enough to share and very, very tasty. We ordered a pasta dish and added shrimp. Oustanding entree. The pasta is made locally, light and very yummy. Topped off our meal with cannolis. Our dinner was authentic with a twist. Excellent 5 star experience.

I was in Charleston for a bachelor party and got a reservation here, which was recommended by a friend who used to live in the area. I will say that it was probably an usual vibe there since our party was half of the restaurant, but it seemed like everyone there was enjoying their food/drinks. We ordered several appetizers and probably had one of every pizza at our table. I think the Salami was the best just because the blend of cheeses were unexpected and great!

The bachelor spilled some of the tomato from the bruschetta on his white shirt and this is when we were lucky enough to meet Gale! She came by to check on the table and was able to get us some shout and a napkin for the stain. Her and the staff were very helpful with drinks and the menu (we had a few picky eaters) and gave recommendations on their menu and local places to try!

I would have gone back the next night if we could have! Food was amazing and the atmosphere was as well!

Gale not only has great food, wonderful drinks, and a welcoming environment, but their customer service is impeccable. We had a bachelorette party of 8 booked for a reservation for 7pm. Unfortunately the power at the restaurant went out around 630pm. After calling us to tell us this happened, at about 7pm, they called us back to tell us the power was back on and they would love it if we came. Upon our arrival we were welcomed in and served the best food and most creative and delicious drinks we had in Charleston. Gale the owner was there helping serve and bus tables. They cranked the music up for us and we had the best time! Overall, our favorite Charleston experience of the trip! We will definitely be back! HIGHLY recommend!

The place is for literally everyone who enjoys pizza!! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and it's staff.

Starting with the drinks, they were fantastic. The signature creations were fantastic. I tried several and they were all delicious.

GET THE BUTTER BEAN HUMMUS AND PITA BREAD! Where else do you know what fires their own pita in front of you? Seriously, some of the best hummus and pita I have ever had.

The pizza, oh my lawd the pizza!! Apparently this place needs to be giving lessons because the depth of flavor that is in every bite is second to none in Charleston. 100/10 would recommend.

What can I say, WOW! Go now before Charleston finds out how good this place is. It won’t be long before reservations are impossible to get. Everything here is original and unique; if they have the Watsonia Farm Corn Curry - do it! I’d give this place more than 5 stars if I could. Incredible owner and staff!

Amazing pasta love the melted leek fettuccine. And the chocolate cake was great. Cocktails and mock tails were delicious and refreshing. The only thing I didn’t love was the the location but the food and service more than make up for it!
