Being a newcomer with a few months of attending:
People are super friendly.
I will bring guests of color. If we need help of any sort we will ask the armed security gaurd of color to assist us.
I have seen Muslim children there who loved it. They will be coming back just for the fun. The children's area is very well developed.
I think the free food ministry is handled by a Latino church that is embedded within Asbury. They are Very friendly and generous folks as well.
The landscaping is a dream scape and professionally maintained.
The full orchestra every Sunday is exquisitely presenting with a robed choir and I suspect a few professionals mixed in. Full production
team on all audio video lighting sound very very well done. The contemporary musicians on second service at 11 are rock stars. Just go, sit and soak this place up for a while. Today was Christmas Eve candlelight service and they will repeat all day long and the big church bells ringing at midnight. Sermons are written in series with free guide books for at home study if you like. The professional chef and kitchen staff are likewise fabulous. Free sign language interpreters.
All of that being said many of the congregants are driving in from remote locations. They don't necessarily represent the racial mix of nearby residents. It's going to be exciting to see that trend change. Everyone is welcome. Everyone. I have had to leave churches several times in the past for reasons that were essentially cruel selfish political money motivated downright sinful and unloving. It hurts the work of the Lord. That is why I will take a lot of effort to see that never, ever happens again. If anyone wants help with this just ask. I will help make it happen as it should to the best of my ability.

This is an outstanding church. It is inspiring how much Asbury members and youth are on fire for Christ. Although a large church this church has a small church atmosphere as it is easy to get plugged in to smaller groups and Sunday School classes

I attended church with my family from 2000 - 2015. I was actively involved and so was the rest of my family. I started attending another church because the Bible-based church had changed. Behind the scenes it wasn't practicing what it was preaching. I will leave it at that. I ran into someone that knew during the time I was attending Asbury and the couple encouraged me to give it another try. Asbury has a new pastor and I think you will be pleasantly surprised, so I gave another try. To say that I was impressed with Andrew Forrest would be an accurate statement. He is AMAZING. He is so PASSIONATE about the Bible and knows his stuff. He is there to share the TRUTH, not to candy-coat or turn the meaning of a scripture or any chapter or book of God's word into something that excuses those who "have ears to hear" to be anything but obedient to the commandments God gave us as a guide to live by in our everyday lives. The TRUTH coming from the pulpit is music to the ears. Asbury is headed in a great direction with Andrew Forrest as their TEACHER & COACH.

We have been members of Asbury for over a year. The worship is inspiring with a full orchestra and choir. Pastor Harrison is a wonderful story teller and uses humor to engage members. We took the Asbury sponsored 10 day tour of Israel. It was the single best religious and cultural excursion I have ever experienced.

Went to Asbury for a little over 24 years before moving to OKC. Was involved in youth programs, mission trips, and a whole bunch of other amazing things through the years. The staff is very kind and caring for their congregation. If you’re looking for a welcoming church that pursues Jesus and preaches the scriptures this would be a great place to attend.

I really love this church! We’ve attended here for several years and we’ve found the church inclusive, friendly, and most importantly they put God first. Asbury believes in living out your faith, in the community as well as overseas. There are so many opportunities to get involved and opportunities for ministry. Our pastor, Tom Harrison, is an amazing man. I love his sermons and he always calls me on my birthday ( every member gets a call on their birthday). I love that the emphasis is on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ above all.

As a god-free individual I normally would have no business at this or any church, however with no animosity about this or any religion I am not above helping my folks out with their Judaic Christian obligations, including the massive rummage sale Asbury United periodically puts on. The point of this wordy post: these folks like many religious congregations help out the community etc with events like these but in this case they are also helping out a very small committed congregation of another Methodist church in which my folks are a part of and dedicate big parts of their lives to and I really thank and appreciate Asbury United for helping this small group of folks continue to have THEIR place to worship. Their (my parents) church is very important to them and I appreciate everything you guys do for them and for the community.

Amazing hospitality! Everyone welcomed me and took an interest in me. The traditional worship service was incredible. Full choir and orchestra and I'm told ALL are volunteers! Wonderful church...

GOD is alive and well in this church! The youth program is amazing, many adult classes too! Pastor Tom is amazing and his staff equally amazing. One of the best decisions in life was choosing to walk in to this church. Your life will change for the better, I promise.

It's a large church but feels cozy especially due to small groups. There are enough other classes (week days & evenings) that address things from Financial to Crochet & quilting. There seems to me to be something for everyone. Of course you will find the regular classes such as choirs, orchestral and Bible studies. There are other helpful groups that help with life experiences such as dealing with divorce, grief & other things that happen to folks that might occur in one's life. The small groups result in a feeling of family.

Asbury has got their stuff figured out. From the moment you walk into the door you will see how everything is very organized and set perfectly in to place. All of the services are wonderful, I specially enjoy the music at the cotempary service. Dr Tom is such an amazing leader/preacher, he teaches in a way all generations can understand. I've personally been to churches where the pastor gives a message that is like seminary level, and way over everyone's head, but not at Asbury. Overall I'm beyond impressed with the church, you should definitely check out Asbury if you're looking for a church. 😊

Asbury is a place that enables you and your family to become connected to the body of Christ. There are so many community opportunities available that there is no reason for “going it alone”.

He walked into Asbury five years ago and felt at home right away. Everything is outstanding from the children's ministry to the many outreach programs. Asbury offers both traditional and contemporary services. Please come and join us. We would love having you here!

A Bible-based church, best experienced when you join a community of others who have common experiences ( like age, grief, single parents, etc.) Where you can learn to apply Christian principles to your life to follow Christ and make disciples.
