Best Italian restaurant in Bandera! We came in on a Thursday night for pizza and pasta and were very happy with the whole experience. There was no wait, plenty of seating, so we picked our table out and were quickly greeted by a friendly and quite funny server (I think his name was Beckham). After some banter, we ordered our food and opened the bottle of wine we brought (it's BYOB here as they do not have alcohol, but they will bring wine glasses and a bottle opener, no corkage fee).

Our food arrived and the portions were gigantic! My companion got a heaping plate of spaghetti and meat sauce, while I got a 12" pizza (build your own.) It was all delicious and well more than we could finish in one sitting.

There are plenty of other items on the menu including a lot of options for kids. Best of all, the prices are quite reasonable. We'll definitely be back!

Perfect place to eat as a family or on a nice date. I recently took my family here and had such a wonderful experience. The restaurant had a wonderful, Italian ambiance with music softly playing in the background when we walked in. We were very quickly and kindly greeted and then were brought to our table. Within probably 2 minutes, we already had drinks and bread placed on our table while we ordered. Our meals came out super quick and the service from the people that run the restaurant was the best service I’ve had in awhile. Extremely kind family here. The food was so good and portions were more than enough. My children and I were full and happy. Just an all around wonderful experience here, and it was quite nice to experience such after a long day. I can’t say enough how awesome the family and service and food here is. It was literally the perfect place to choose for dinner. 5 stars all the way. Thanks to Pap’s ❤

We ordered out for a quiet Mother's day in, and was surprised of a quick 45 minute pick up since it was surly a busy day. I was home with or spaghetti dinner, hot, delicious care free and quiet evening... No clean up! Thanks Paps!

Food was amazing. Waitress friendly and attentive. Pap even came to our table several times to see how our food was. If you are ever in Bandera give them a try.

We love coming to Bandera and eating at Pap’s Italian Grill. Everything we have tried is absolutely amazing. And they have great lunch specials. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent service, great recommendations, even better food!! The food was delicious, fresh and oh so filling. The house dressing is a must try for your salad. If you want a treat after try the cannoli! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Even my picky child loved the food! We will definitely be back.

The only thing I didn’t quite care for was the $2.68 service fee for credit card use, but I get it they gotta cover that cost somehow. The food is excellent well worth it!

Our party of four was satisfied with every dish.
Pro tip—BYOB, as no alcohol is served on premises.
The bread was a take on garlic knots. Very addictive. I didn’t want more than one, yet kept on eating.
Fried calamari appetizer was pleasing. Breading was light, airy, not greasy and remained crispy until the last bite. The marinara was fresh and tasty.
The stuffed mushrooms weren’t really stuffed, but awesome and the sauce was really good. We kept both sauces around to dip the bread in.
Both appetizers and salads came out shockingly fast.
Minutes later, our entrees were brought out by a delightful elderly man who was probably the cook, as well.
My cheese ravioli did not disappoint.
My friend said she really liked the eggplant Parmesan.
The guys both had shrimp—one with veal and Marsala sauce.
The other shrimp dish had salmon, capers, penne and the sauce was butter and white wine—was the winner.
Our foodie in the group said the sauces were next level—all bright.
Now, the strawberry cheesecake, I enjoyed, but everyone else said it was Sara Lee.

Food was delicious and very authentic Italian food. It was fresh and hot when it came out. A very nice place, thar I will definitely come back to again. The lunch special was only 9.99, a great deal.

I got the Italian sausage sub (photo below) this time and I regret not trying it sooner it was really good. I usually get some sort of pizza and it is always good. I apologize but I cannot remember the name of the white dish below as we went a little while ago. There is lots of seating in the building and two bathrooms but they are not single person bathrooms. The wait for service and food is usually not long.

Then did the Veal Parmesan, asked for meat sauce - inside of the marinara - they accommodated!

My husband and I took my father in law who is from Rome to eat at Pap's last Sunday. It was all our first visit but we will definitely be going more often.

This is must visit restaurant log you love pizzas. One of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. Just 40min from San Antonio, it’s a hidden gem. Once you are in you feel like you are in an old Italian restaurant.

Great food and great service. Love this family owned Restaurant and we drive about an hour to get here. Worth the money and the trip. If you are looking for an authentic Italian restaurant then look no further.

Amazing food and the quantities you get for what you pay is just as amazing!!! We are picky with our Italian fare and this place did not disappoint!👍🍕🍝🇮🇹

You don't expect to find an excellent, authentic Italian restaurant in the middle of nowhere, Texas, but here it is! We haven't had anything that didn't taste like it came out of your favorite Italian nonna's kitchen. The twisted breadsticks are delicious, and surprisingly, the gyro is out-of-this-world good, and also HUGE - it was big enough for two of us. The hours are a little strange at times - we've come by and been surprised to find it closed, but we'll keep coming back. Bandera has more than its fair share of great restaurants, and this one is definitely right up there!
***Updated to add: the Tiramisu is the absolute best I've ever tasted - fanstastic!

This is the best Italian food, especially pizza I have ever had. Every time we bring family and friends, they always leave happy and great positive comments!! Great family owned business!!

We always order paps supreme pizza to go. Absolutely the best pizza in Bandera. Worth every penny.
