Tamassee DAR School

Most of these reviews are for the school function, but there is a wonderful community hall that is for rent at the school. I was recently at a wedding here and it was simple and amazing at the same time. The staff was wonderful and the venue itself is charming amongst the historic backdrop of the community here. Would totally come back for another wedding.

This is a gorgeous campus with lots of little hidden gems for you to host a wedding or event. Ceremony, reception, and overnight accommodations.

I went to the d a r school a long time ago... It's not what it used to be, but the play areas are still nice for kids. :]

Beautiful, historic campus which continues to provide loving and progressive services for children in need, promoting their success into adulthood and society. Gorgeous scenery and architecture all along the drive through campus.

My fiance and I attended a wedding here and it was such a beautiful space, I was very impressed with how nice it was and we had a wonderful time at the wedding. I would highly recommend this place as a wedding venue, its very spacious and clean

Absolutely beautiful campus! We stayed in the Texas cabin for a few nights. The accommodations were cozy and homey.

I went to school at Tamassee DAR School from 1972-1976. Tamassee was my home at that time. Tamassee is a special place. Tamassee has offered many children an opportunity to go to school, to have a home, to learn discipline while having a job there and to learn how to get along with a lot of brothers & sisters! I even had the opportunity to be the Supervisor in GROVES COTTAGE, the home of the 1st- 3rd Grade little girls. I loved every one of those little girls. I was happy to be able to help them as much as I could. I will never forget Tamassee, nor will I ever forget the House parents & Staff who helped me to grow up. I will always be thankful for Tamassee DAR School.

Amazing organization that provides love and support to those who need it most. The Place of the Sunlight of God, Tamassee has a beautiful campus that is only getting better.

My grand daughter been cheering in DAR gym for our Eagles basketball team. It's a very beautiful place at the DAR COMMUNITY.I wish they would work on the theater part and bathroom s well whole building needs work. They should bring something back to the part upstairs again. Plays, music shows, pageant s again. Something anyway. It's just wasting away. The DAR IS A BIG PART OF SALEM HISTORY. AND I just hate seeing nothing done with it. IDK what could be done but maybe I will find OUT.

For 100 years this school took young people to board in well run group home living, educated and built a strong family friendly community in Tamassee. No longer a boarding school, it's Charter school endures!

Nice place to find thrift store bargains and meet some friendly people,then see the beautiful campus,the stone buildings are eye-catching for sure!

The school is beautiful and they seem to have a.lot of programs available for children.

I was at tamassee for a year it was a great experience the staff there are great they are amazing with the kids and they teach as alot.

This is a wonderful program - this organization takes care of children who need it most!
