Free Cookies Smokehouse

Looking for the best. Free Cookies is highly rated so I thought It was time I tried it out. I got the 4 meat plate to sample everything and decide what I would order in the future. Well I can’t make up my mind, it was all absolutely delicious. The beans were tops and slaw was good too. We will definitely go back.By the way, that is my half of the order.

Found this quaint smokehouse on our way to Galveston for our cruise. We were hoping for brisket, but the very kind owner, Philip, informed us he ran out several hours earlier. He had 1lb of chicken left and sides, and said we would not be disappointed. Was he right! The smoke on the chicken was delicious and kept the chicken moist, not at all dry. And the beans - oh my gosh they were so good! If you are traveling through to get to your vacation, Free Cookies Smokehouse is a must to kick-off your adventure. We hope when Philip makes it big and has people waiting for hours from miles around to get a bite that he remembers the family from Arkansas that stopped in when the restaurant was only five months old.

Top notch Texas BBQ in the most rustic and authentic setting. I’ll never pass this place again without stopping. We shared the 5 meat and everything was outstanding. This place is 2.5 hours from my home, and a 5 hour round trip is tempting.

Everything about this cool little joint was awesome! The ribs were great, the chicken was great, the brisket was great!! See a pattern here??? Lol
I was fortunate to go at a slow time of day and the owner Phillip came out and sat and talked with me! An exceptional young business man! If you have the chance you must ask him how he came up with the name!! We talked BBQ for nearly and hour while he tended his pit and sat with me. This is the kind of "hole in the wall" joint I love! And the food and experience will definitely bring me back if I'm ever close by!!!

Almost sold out when I got there. Got a pulled pork sandwich. I asked for pickles and onions on the side. They were on the sandwich which made the bottom bun to be soggy. Had to eat it with a fork. But it tasted VERY good.

Best BBQ in the area. Good sides. Great price for the food as well. Like the brisket its good and very tender. My husband like his plate as well with pepper jack sausage and brisket. If you haven't tried you need to go get you some!

OMG! New mandatory stop for lunch on our return road trips from Indiana. I had the loaded cheesy potatoes with brisket and sausage. My husband had the brisket and rib combo. The meats were smoked to perfection with great flavor. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Free cookies too!

Excellent food. Lean, very very tasty meats. Even the sides were delicious. He’s going to need a bigger seating area. Top ten barbecue place ever!

We went their first day officially opened. I was fortunate enough that they did a sampling of their meats for me in a box, the chicken was INCREDIBLE- some of the best flavored, and so juicy and tender. The brisket had a great flavor. I’m not a rib or pork person - so I will let someone else review those items. I did witness the size and quality of the baked potato with brisket and it looked delicious! There really isn’t too many places to sit inside. No public bathrooms. And they do have a big fan for those that want to sit outside. Overall, I hope locals and travelers will stop and try them! It’s a great addition to the Mount Enterprise area! The young family that owns it are super sweet and personable. We had a light dinner at my company, so I wanted the to try the chicken and sausage from them, and everyone seemed to love it. It’s a must stop in Mount!

We had the box with the baby back ribs, beans and potato salad! The beans were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, the ribs were so so good! I also got a small sample of the Chicken and so flavorful! I loved the sweet workers and the taste of the bbq was just amazing! They have a jam up business going!

The best barbeque in town. It's so delicious and the staff is very nice. We eat there every other day and my son loves the brisket sandwich/ribs basically the whole menu. 😁

Traveling through to Houston and stopped to eat some classic Texas BBQ. Lovely, kind folks behind the counter and friendly regulars. I can see why this spot is still open and it’s older than I am.

I loved my big ole stuffed baked potato is so good I had left overs it was the best I ever had for the prime you get alot of for the price you spend.
