Dr. Hester has done shoulder surgery, 2 Carpal tunnel, and tennis elbow surgery on me, and I will never be able to put into words the satisfaction and care I have felt with him and Shannon Hilley, his NP. They have both taken the time to answer any questions I have, and I have never felt rushed, so that they could get on with the next patient. These are two that have shown that they truly enjoy their occupations, and care for their patients.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Andrew Hester and Anna Medley, his nurse practitioner. I am 72 years of age and had my right knee replaced in June 2022 and my left knee replaced in October 2022. My recovery has been great and my greatest surprise was the fact that there was not a lot of pain. My right knee was almost totally pain-free. I do not hesitate to recommend Dr Hester and his staff for anyone contemplating knee replacement. They are the BEST.

Dr. Andrew Hester was my lucky star. Three years ago today, he operated on my fractured left tibia and fibula, inserted a titanium rod through my tibia and tightened it with three titanium screws. I live in Pennsylvania and was hiking in Little River Canyon near Ft. Payne with my husband. Far away from home in the middle of small towns Alabama with a broken leg, who would have known there is an excellent Orthopedic Surgeon and a real hospital, DeKalb Regional Hospital. The nurses and Dr. Hester gave me the best care. We drove back to PA on the 3rd day after the surgery. I continued to recover under the care of Rothman Orthopedic Institute. My leg healed nicely and was on a hiking trip in November of the same year. So, on this 3rd year anniversary, I wold like to thank Dr. Andrew Hester from the bottom of my heart. I don't know what would have become of me if Dr. Hester was not there.

He is an amazing Doctor! I would recommend him for any orthopedic surgery! He has a sweet personality and cares about his patients! The only thing that makes him look bad is his front office staff! They schedule you for a follow up and give you a card to remind you of the appointment. Then have the nerve to tell you that is not when you come in for the follow up. He needs to get a staff that knows what there doing in the front part!!!

The best physician Ive encountered in Alabama.
This young man is an excellent skilled professional and should be at Emory's piedmont orthopedic surgical group at Emory in my native home Atlanta

My name is Sandi Garmon. While visiting my mother during the last week of her life, I became very ill with a bladder and kidney infection, but did not go to a doctor because I wanted to be with my mother in the last days of her life. She passed away...and on May 30, 2019, the day before her funeral, I passed out and crushed my ankle due to having Sepsis throughout my body. I was taken to Fort Payne Hospital, as that’s the town my mother and other family members lived. The name of the hospital is Dekalb Medical, and is located in Fort Payne. Dr. Hester did emergency surgery on my ankle and did everything he possibly could...to enable me to go to my mothers funeral the following day. He has a wonderful bedside manner and makes his patients feel like he really cares about them, and I truly believe he does. The surgery required plates and many screws, as my foot had also completely dislocated from my leg. I was able to attend my mothers funeral the following morning. After returning to Panama City, Florida where I live, I went to a top orthopedic surgeon, and he was amazed at the “incredible job” in his words, that Dr. Hester had done on my ankle. He said he had been doing these types of surgeries for 30+ years and he had never seen a better job than the one that Dr. Hester did. It healed nicely and with minimal pain. I owe being able to walk perfectly on my ankle to Dr. Hester...and I could not ever thank him enough. If you need orthopedic surgery, and you live anywhere in Fort Payne, Alabama or surrounding area...I would highly recommend you to use Dr. Hester as your orthopedic surgeon. THANK YOU Dr. Hester!!!

I recommend dr. Hester to anyone. He is a great, caring doctor. He is concerned about his patients. He took very good care of me when I had to have replacement surgery on my knee. I had infection in my knee and had two surgeries before I finally got to get my new knee. He took very good care of me and his staff were great. I used them all and they were all just as caring as dr. Hester is. Yes i recommend him to anyone thats needs his help. Thank you to Dr. Andrew Hester and staff for taking good care of me.
